    Four Hands Trailer

“I wish I could just forget it all. But she won’t let me.” Cleopatra Entertainment has released an official US trailer for a German psychological thriller titled Four Hands, which first premiered at the Munich Film Festival last year. The story follows two sisters, Sophie and Jessica, who witnessed a brutal crime when they were kids. Nearly 20 years later Jessica is obsessed with trying to protect her younger sister, suffering from paranoia. But Sophie wants to become a pianist and wants to fall in love, without her sister around. When the perpetrators are released of prison after 20 years, Jessica is shocked and wants to confront them. But an accident changes everything. The film, written & directed by Oliver Kienle, stars Frida-Lovisa Hamann, Friederike Becht, Christoph Letkowski, Agnieszka Guzikowska, and Detleft Bothe. This trailer seems to give away a big part of the plot, but maybe that’s just how it plays out and there’s much more to it. ›››

    Big Brother Trailer

“If I can do it, you can do it!” Well Go USA has debuted an official US trailer for the upcoming release of an action comedy titled Big Brother, which already opened in China (and most of Asia) earlier this month. The film stars action superstar Donnie Yen as a former soldier recruited for his toughest mission yet – teaching a class of teen delinquents. He decides to employ a few unusual methods to reach the class of poor students, while dealing with a greedy entrepreneur and his gang of fighters as well as the government. The cast includes Joe Chen, Jack Lok, and Yu Kang. This actually sounds, and looks, quite fun! I really want to see this, just to have a good time at the cinema watching Donnie Yen kick ass. • A Second Trailer for 'The Old Man and The Gun' with Robert Redford

A Second Trailer for 'The Old Man and The Gun' with Robert Redford

The Old Man and The Gun Trailer

“You think we can pull it off?” Fox Searchlight has released a second official trailer for The Old Man and The Gun, the latest feature film written & directed by David Lowery (Ain’t Them Bodies Saints, Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story). The film is based on and tells the true story of Forrest Tucker, from his audacious escape from San Quentin at the age of 70 to an unprecedented string of heists that confounded authorities and enchanted the public. Robert Redford stars as Forrest, and the cast includes Casey Affleck, Sissy Spacek, Danny Glover, Tom Waits, and Tika Sumpter. This new trailer gives us a much better look at Glover and Waits as Tucker’s cohorts, and focuses more on his robberies than the romance (this time). The film will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in just a few weeks, and hit theaters at the end of September. ›››

  • Official Trailer for 'By the Rivers of Babylon' Featuring Crispin Glover

Official Trailer for 'By the Rivers of Babylon' Featuring Crispin Glover

By the Rivers of Babylon Trailer

“You didn’t tell me she’s funny.” RadioactiveGiant has debuted an official trailer for an indie film titled By the Rivers of Babylon, previously known as Caretaker, the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Albert Sandoval. The description for this is a bit vague but sets up the plot of this psychological thriller: dementia and deceit haunt a widow as her estranged son and the new caretaker share her home. The dark drama stars Crispin Glover, Connie Stevens, Mark Boone Junior, Sam Quartin, Joely Fisher, Adam Tomei, and Dakota Buchanan. This looks unsettling, quite a few creepy things going on. Glover looks gnarly with that big burly mustache, but his accent is a bit hokey. Not sure what else I can say about this. Watch below. ›››

  • Ben Mendelsohn in Trailer for Holofcener's 'The Land of Steady Habits'

Ben Mendelsohn in Trailer for Holofcener's 'The Land of Steady Habits'

The Land of Steady Habits Trailer

“You are the one who wanted out, so get out.” Netflix has debuted the trailer for the indie drama The Land of Steady Habits, the latest film made by acclaimed indie filmmaker Nicole Holofcener (Walking and Talking, Friends with Money, Please Give, Enough Said). This is premiering at the Toronto Film Festival just before it hits Netflix, so there isn’t much of a wait if you’re interested in watching. The Land of Steady Habits stars Ben Mendelsohn and Edie Falco as a married couple. Anders decides to leave his wife and retire from his work to find happiness, instead he ends up even more miserable, setting him on “a clumsy, heartbreaking quest to reassemble the pieces of his fractured life.” The cast includes Natalie Gold, Connie Britton, Charlie Tahan, Thomas Mann, Elizabeth Marvel, Josh Pais, and Michael Gaston. This looks like a worthwhile drama with some brutally honest wisdom, even though it seems a bit dry at times. ›››

Summer ’03 features the legendary June Squibb as a grandmother who decides to reveal some secrets to her granddaughter while on her deathbed, putting the family into a personal crisis. The story focuses on Jamie, played by Joey King (from Independence Day: Resurgence, The Kissing Booth, Slender Man), who is navigating her own young romance in the midst of all this. Hunter Killer Trailer

“I risked my men… I risked my ship…!” Lionsgate UK has released a new official UK trailer for the action-packed submarine thriller titled Hunter Killer, a modern day submarine movie about an intense American submarine captain who has to rescue another American sub in distress. Gerard Butler stars as Captain Joe Glass, and the movie’s full cast also features Gary Oldman, Common, Linda Cardellini, Caroline Goodall, Michael Nyqvist, Ryan McPartlin, and Toby Stephens. The main plot involves the captain discovering a secret Russian coup, making this the most important mission of his life in order to maintain world order. This trailer has more footage of Gary Oldman, and more footage of the CG action scenes, and it actually looks better than the first trailer. Just by a little. I’m still not too sure, but it might be entertaining. ›››
