The story follows a young boy whose life is changed forever when he kills two corrupt policemen in a South African shanty town. • US Trailer for WWI Horror Film 'Trench 11' Directed by Leo Scherman

    Trench 11 Trailer

“This base has been sealed for a reason.” RLJE Films has released an official trailer for the zombie horror film Trench 11, which premiered at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival last year and has been playing at various genre film festivals since then. The zombie horror is set in the final days of WWI, following a shell-shocked soldier who must lead a mission deep beneath the trenches to stop a German plot that could turn the tide of the war. This is brutal and bloody and violent and exactly what you might expect for a film about WWI bloodthirsty, worm-infected zombie soldiers. Trench 11 stars Rossif Sutherland, Karine Vanasse, Charlie Carrick, Shaun Benson, and Ted Atherton. This trailer takes a bit of time to build, but finally gets into the gnarly, freaky horror stuff, though they don’t show much of the ensuing gore. Tread carefully. ›››

Must Watch: Rad Trailer for Trippy Sci-Fi Short Film 'They Wait For Us'

    They Wait For Us Trailer

“The mind has its own place… and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven.” What the?! Visitor Studios has released an official trailer for a short film titled They Wait For Us, which is currently playing at a few more film festivals before it ends up online. Usually we don’t post trailers for shorts, but I’m making an exception for this because this looks incredible. Co-directed by VFX artists Lukas Schrank & George Thomson, the short is set in a near-future end-of-life care facility, where a reclusive hospital worker starts to believe a coma patient is secretly communicating with him. Described as a “haunting mini-masterpiece that’s as visually arresting as it is spiritually compelling.” I don’t even really know what’s going on here, but the visuals in this trailer are trippy and entrancing, and I can’t wait to see the full short. Check it out below. ›››

  • Peter Dinklage in First Trailer for HBO's Biopic 'My Dinner with Hervé'

Peter Dinklage in First Trailer for HBO's Biopic 'My Dinner with Hervé'

    My Dinner with Hervé Trailer

“I have a little story for you, junior.” HBO has unveiled the teaser trailer for a new film titled My Dinner with Hervé, the latest feature made by award-winning filmmaker Sacha Gervasi (ofAnvil: The Story of Anvil, Hitchcock, November Criminals). The film stars Peter Dinklage as the famous French dwarf actor Herve Villechaize, who many will recognize from either The Man with the Golden Gun (as Scaramanga’s little henchman Nick Nack) or “Fantasy Island” (as Tattoo). The story is about an evening in Los Angeles in which struggling journalist Danny Tate, as played by Jamie Dornan, is sent to meet and interview Herve. This really happened and, as the story goes, it was “an encounter that will have life-changing consequences for both.” I had no idea they were even making this film! But I am so very interested already. This teaser doesn’t show much, but it’s more than enough to sell me. I’m a big fan of Nick Nack, and I think it’s great to see Dinklage playing Villechaize, digging deep into the challenges of being a celebrity dwarf. This also stars Andy Garcia, Mireille Enos, Oona Chaplin, Helena Mattsson, and Harriet Walter. Watch below. ›››

Scary Trailer for Mysterious Sci-Fi Horror 'Await Further Instructions'

    Await Further Instructions Trailer

“Someone’s locked us in.” Dark Sky Films has debuted an official trailer for a freaky new sci-fi horror-thriller titled Await Further Instructions, made by filmmaker Johnny Kevorkian. The film’s plot is about an argumentative family that gets together on Christmas. When they wake up on Christmas Day, they discover their house is covered with black material, and when they turn on the TV it says: “Stay Indoors and Await Further Instructions.” That’s a wicked cool idea for a horror film, something out of “Black Mirror” or “The Twilight Zone”. Alas, this doesn’t look as good as I’d hoped, a bit too weird, but I’m still very curious about it. The film’s cast includes David Bradley, Abigail Cruttenden, Holly Weston, Sam Gittins, Grant Masters, Neerja Naik, and Kris Saddler. This is definitely worth a look, for that concept alone. ›››

“We get our fair share of non-believers, but sooner or later they come to realize the truth. RLJE Films has debuted the official trailer for an alien abduction, sci-fi mystery/thriller film titled Beyond The Sky, which is getting a release next month. While shooting a documentary to expose the lies of alien abductees, a provocative filmmaker and his crew encounter a young woman with a dark secret who leads them to uncover a disturbing truth. The film has gone under a few other titles, including Encounter and False Memory Syndrome, but will be released as Beyond The Sky. Travis Walton, author of the memoir “Fire in the Sky” about his own alien abduction experience (which was turned into that horrifying 1993 film Fire in the Sky), served as a consultant and has a cameo in the film. Watch: Michael Shannon in Jeff Nichols' Short 'Long Way Back Home'

    Long Way Back Home

“You’re not the only one lookin’ for them.” More work from Jeff Nichols and Michael Shannon? Yes, please. Long Way Back Home is a new short film written and directed by filmmaker Jeff Nichols. The short was made to promote the release of the album “Among the Ghosts” from the band Lucero, which includes Jeff’s brother Ben Nichols on vocals and guitar. It’s sort of a music video, but not really. Michael Shannon stars in this, along with Garrett Hedlund, Scoot Mcnairy, Paul Sparks, and Ben Nichols. Shannon and Nichols have worked together on all five of his films previously: Shotgun Stories, Take Shelter, Mud, Midnight Special, and Loving. Glad to see them continue to work together, always a thrill. Give this a watch. ›››

Anjelica Huston & Bill Pullman in Official Trailer for Rebeck's 'Trouble'

    Trouble Trailer

“She’s a piece of work.” Paladin has released the official trailer for an indie dramedy titled Trouble, the second feature film from Pulitzer Prize-nominated playwright and novelist Theresa Rebeck (her first film was Poor Behavior in 2016). The film is about two middle-aged siblings who don’t care for one another – played by Anjelica Huston and Bill Pullman. Ben returns home in hopes of getting back his father’s estate to build a house there, but runs into the hard-headed Maggie, his sister who won’t let him have any of it back. The cast includes David Morse, Julia Stiles, Brian d’Arcy James, Jim Parrack, and Victor Williams. This looks a bit wild, with some brutally honest take from both sides. Might be worth a watch? ›››

  • Second Teaser Trailer for 'I Think We're Alone Now' with Peter Dinklage

Second Teaser Trailer for 'I Think We're Alone Now' with Peter Dinklage

    I Think We're Alone Now

“Where were you when it happened?” Our friends at Bloody-Disgusting have debuted a second teaser trailer for the indie post-apocalyptic sci-fi film I Think We’re Alone Now, the second film made by the talented cinematographer Reed Morano (Meadowland, “The Handmaid’s Tale”). This premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and we posted the first teaser trailer a month ago. The film plays like a “Black Mirror” episode, about a guy who is the lone survivor of an apocalypse. Peter Dinklage stars as Del, who works hard to keep his little town maintained in a world where he’s the only one left alive. Until someone else suddenly shows us. The surprise cast also includes Elle Fanning, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Paul Giamatti. I love this little sci-fi film and reviewed it at Sundance, talking about how much I appreciate its minimalism. Hopefully the full-length trailer gets the attention of a few more people. Until then, watch this. ›››
