Watch: New Featurette for 'Rogue One' with Director Gareth Edwards

    Rogue One Featurette

“It’s a whole world I’ve been thinking about for quite a long time…” Disney + Lucasfilm have unveiled one more exciting new featurette for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This video goes behind-the-scenes of the production with director Gareth Edwards, who talks about how this is like “the world’s greatest toy set” and how it’s like being a kid again. Oh to visit this set would have been a dream come true. I wish there was more behind-the-scenes footage in this, but I do remember we had that other Celebration reel earlier this year that showed quite a bit. It’s also interesting to see them showing the direct connections between A New Hope and Rogue One, but makes sense. Can’t wait to see this, it’s going to be exhilarating. Almost time. ›››

  • Paul Schneider & Geoffrey Rush in Official Trailer for 'The Daughter'

Paul Schneider & Geoffrey Rush in Official Trailer for 'The Daughter'

    The Daughter Trailer

Keep your family close and your secrets closer. Kino Lorber has revealed the first trailer for Simon Stone’s indie drama The Daughter, inspired by one of Henrik Ibsen’s plays. The story is about a man who returns home to discover a long-buried family secret, and when he tries to make things better he threatens the lives of those he left years before. The daughter in the title is played by Odessa Young, and she comes to play an important part in the story as well. The film stars Sam Neill and Geoffrey Rush, as well as Ewen Leslie, Paul Schneider, Miranda Otto, Anna Torv and Gareth Davies. This seems to be another one of these return-home and find out everything is not alright with the family dramas, with some moody filmmaking. ›››

First Trailer for Ry Russo-Young's New Time Loop Film 'Before I Fall'

    Before I Fall Trailer

“If I was going to relive the same day over and over, I want it to be a day that would make a difference.” Open Road has debuted the first official trailer for a film titled Before I Fall, an indie drama from director Ry Russo-Young. Adapted from Lauren Oliver’s novel of the same name, this time loop story involves a high school teenager – played by Isla Fischer lookalike Zoey Deutch – who ends up dying at the end of the night, only to wake up and restart the same day. The synopsis says this give her a chance to “question just how perfect her life really was.” Ah yes, the lives of teenagers, so perfect yet not so perfect. The cast includes Halston Sage, Jennifer Beals, Logan Miller, G. Hannelius, Elena Kampouris, Diego Boneta and Alyssa Lynch. This actually looks pretty good, I’m intrigued, and I plan on catching it when it’s in theaters. ›››

Watch: Jessica Chastain Stars in First Trailer for 'The Zookeeper's Wife'

    The Zookeeper's Wife Trailer

“No one knows how hard it is… You can never tell who your enemies are. Or who to trust.” Focus Features has unveiled the first official trailer for the drama The Zookeeper’s Wife, set during the beginning of World War II. The film stars Jessica Chastain as Antonina Żabińska, and Johan Heldenbergh as Dr. Jan Żabiński, the owners of the Warsaw Zoo in Poland, who do all they can to defend the zoo and save the animals when the Nazis invade. The full cast includes Daniel Brühl as the Reich’s newly appointed chief zoologist, as well as Iddo Goldberg, Efrat Dor, Shira Haas, Michael McElhatton and Val Maloku. Aside from all the adorable animals in this, it looks like a heartfelt story of compassionate people trying to do their best to save lives in the middle of a horrible time. I love the use of Sigur Ros, it elevates this further. ›››

  • Another Fun Trailer for Paramount's Crazy Live-Action 'Monster Trucks'

Another Fun Trailer for Paramount's Crazy Live-Action 'Monster Trucks'

    Monster Trucks

“Meet Creech.” Paramount has debuted a brand new trailer (see the first trailer) for the crazy live-action Monster Trucks movie, directed by Chris Wedge, who worked on Ice Age and Robots before making this leap into live-action. You’ve probably heard about this one because Paramount is bracing to lose millions of dollars making this, even though it is still two months out from release. I honestly don’t think it looks that bad, there’s an edge to it that seems like it’s going to be fun – perhaps even moreso than the Transformers movies. This stars Lucas Till, Jane Levy, Holt McCallany, Barry Pepper, Tucker Albrizzi, Danny Glover, Amy Ryan, Rob Lowe, Frank Whaley, and Thomas Lennon. Fire it up and meet a monster. ›››

  • Jackie Chan in First US Teaser Trailer for 'Railroad Tigers' Action Film

Jackie Chan in First US Teaser Trailer for 'Railroad Tigers' Action Film

    Railroad Tigers Trailer

“This looks like… amateur hour!” Well Go USA has debuted a new US teaser trailer for an action film from China titled Railroad Tigers, about a “ragtag” group of freedom fighters who ambush a military train. Jackie Chan stars, playing a railroad worker who leads a team of skilled fighters trying to take out the Japanese in order to get food for the poor. The rest of the cast includes Huang Zitao, Wang Kai, Darren Wang, Alan Ng and Sang Ping. This looks way too goofy to be really taken seriously, unfortunately. It seems like the kind of film you’d find somewhere in a back corner of your local VHS rental shop, complete with cheap, cheesy VFX. I wished this looked any better, but it seems like it’s going to end up being so bad. ›››

    Fullmetal Alchemist Trailer

Another live-action adaptation of an anime & manga series is coming to the big screen. Aside from Ghost in the Shell, Japan is developing a live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movie from director Fumihiko Sori. In the Fullmetal Alchemist world, alchemy is one of the most-practiced sciences. The film is about two brothers who go on a quest for the Philosopher’s Stone (no connection to Harry Potter). It stars Ryôsuke Yamada as Edward Elric, Tsubasa Honda as Winry Rockbell, Dean Fujioka as Roy Mustang, Ryuuta Satou as Maes Hughes, Misako Renbutsu as Riza Hawkeye, Natsuna as Maria Ross, Natsuki Harada as Gracia Hughes, You Ooizumi as Shou Tucker, Jun Kunimura and many others. • Watch: New Trailer for UK Re-Release of Richard Kelly's 'Donnie Darko'

Watch: New Trailer for UK Re-Release of Richard Kelly's 'Donnie Darko'

    Donnie Darko Re-Release Trailer

BFI has debuted a brand new trailer for the 4K restoration re-release of Richard Kelly’s cult classic sci-fi film Donnie Darko. It first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2001, and quickly became a cult hit. The BFI is now re-releasing it in 4K in cinemas all around the UK this December. Hopefully it’ll show up in the US sometime in 2017. I wasn’t introduced to this film until I was in a sci-fi class in high school, but ever since then, I’ve been a huge fan and have often revisited it. It’s not just the soundtrack or the story, but the whole idea behind it and what it means and what’s going on. I can only imagine what it must’ve been like to see this at its Sundance premiere. Jake Gyllenhaal stars, with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Patrick Swayze, James Duval, Jena Malone, Noah Wyle and Drew Barrymore. Watch the superb new trailer below. ›››

Watch: Final Trailer for 'Hidden Figures' Promises an Intelligent Story

    Hidden Figures Trailer

“Every time we have a chance to get ahead, they move the finish life.” 20th Century Fox has released one final trailer for the inspiring new drama Hidden Figures, hitting theaters in January. This film tells the story of three intelligent women who worked for NASA and helped provide some of the math equations and calculations to send astronaut John Glenn into orbit (in 1962). The full cast features Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, Janelle Monáe, Kevin Costner, Kirsten Dunst, Jim Parsons, Mahershala Ali, Aldis Hodge, and Glen Powell. The first trailer looked great, and this one is just as fun. I’m glad Fox is putting all their weight behind this film and giving it the full support it needs to find a big audience. Enjoy. ›››
