Antonio Banderas Stars as Mall Security in First Trailer for 'Security'

    Security Movie Trailer

“Take as many of them out as you can.” Arrow Films from the UK has debuted the first official trailer for an action thriller titled Security, which seems like a movie straight out of the 90s. Antonio Banderas stars as a special services veteran who is hired to work as a security guard at a shopping mall. Ben Kingsley also co-stars as a “psychopathic hijacker” who goes after a young girl who was going to testify as a witness in a trial. This sounds like another one of those formulaic action movies where they plug in all the usual tropes, including a young girl being chased by criminals, a former military man forced to do regular security work, and a crazy evil guy after all of them. Also starring Liam McIntyre, Chad Lindberg, Gabriella Wright, and Cung Le. This kind of looks like Die Hard in a shopping mall, but nowhere near as good. Check it out. ›››

Cheesy Country Music Romance 'Forever My Girl' First Teaser Trailer

    Forever My Girl Trailer

“Is that enough for your love?” Roadside Attractions & LD Entertainment have debuted an official trailer for a super cheesy romantic drama titled Forever My Girl, from director Bethany Ashton Wolf, adapted from Heidi McLaughlin’s novel. The film tells the story of a country music singer named Liam Page, played by Alex Roe, who leaves a woman behind at the altar to chase his dreams of fame and fortune. However, when he returns to his hometown for a funeral, he reconnects with Josie and sparks fly again. Also starring Jessica Rothe, Abby Ryder Fortson, Travis Tritt, Judith Hoag, John Benjamin Hickey. Featuring original country music written for the screen by Brett Boyett. This looks like typical country western cheese. ›››

Watch: Captivating '9 Races' Short Tells the Story of an Injured Jockey

    9 Races Short Film

“This is one race. You’ve got a lot more races in you.” This is an impressive short about a person we rarely hear stories about – a jockey. Most films about horseracing are about the sport, or the owners, or the horses, but not many films talk about the jockey and his life. 9 Races is a short film directed by Clint Bentley (website) telling the story of an injured jockey who tries to endure nine races on nine horses over the course of one unforgiving night on the track. Luis Bordonada stars as Gabriel, playing a jockey trying to hide his pain as he starts to race. I like the documentary-style approach to this, makes it feel more real. Watch below. ›››

  • New Trailer for a Re-Release of Dustin Hoffman Classic 'The Graduate'

New Trailer for a Re-Release of Dustin Hoffman Classic 'The Graduate'

    The Graduate Trailer

“This is Benjamin. He’s a little worried about his future.” Studiocanal in the UK has debuted a new trailer for the upcoming re-released of Mike Nichols’ classic The Graduate, starring Dustin Hoffman in one of his early breakout roles. The film, first released in America in 1967, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a re-release in the UK at the BFI Southbank in London as part of its Dustin Hoffman season of screenings. The Criterion Collection already made their own fresh new version (on Blu-ray!) from the 35mm negatives, and those same negatives have been used for this brand new 4K DCP. The film also stars Anne Bancroft, Katharine Ross, William Daniels, Murray Hamilton, and Elizabeth Wilson. This film had a huge impact on Hollywood in the late 1960s, and is still considered a true classic by many movie lovers. Have fun. ›››

  • Demi Moore & Alec Baldwin Fall in Love in Trailer for Romance 'Blind'

Demi Moore & Alec Baldwin Fall in Love in Trailer for Romance 'Blind'

    Blind Movie Trailer

“You must have dinner with me tonight, and I’ll take you to Paris.” Vertical Entertainment has debuted the official trailer for an indie romantic thriller titled Blind. This is not to be confused with the outstanding Norwegian film Blind, which was one of my favorite films of the year a few years ago. This new Blind film is a romantic thriller set in New York City, from first-time director Michael Mailer. Alec Baldwin stars as a man who has gone blind after a car accident that also killed his wife. He meets a woman at his care center, played by Demi Moore, who falls in love with him. But when her husband, played by Dylan McDermott, arrives fresh from prison, things get a bit dangerous. This seems like a nice romance made cheesy with the violent husband storyline, but perhaps it’s an accurate representation of the real world. Take a look below. ›››

  • Full Trailer for Blomkamp's New Oats Studios Promises Wicked Sci-Fi

Full Trailer for Blomkamp's New Oats Studios Promises Wicked Sci-Fi

    Neill Blomkamp's Oats Studios

“Who are you? What are you becoming? These details are slipping away from you, aren’t they?” This looks wicked cool! A few weeks back, we wrote a post about sci-fi filmmaker Neill Blomkamp launching a new production studio called Oats Studios. This bootstrapped studio is developing multiple experimental sci-fi projects, including alien invasion and alternate history Vietnam War films, which will be tested to see which might become theatrically-released features. Blomkamp has revealed a brand new trailer that features some awesome footage from a bunch of these projects. There’s even weird footage from a cooking show that I’m curious to know more about. The lizard alien film is the one I’m looking forward to the most so far. Jump in. ›››

  • New Trailer for Political Thriller 'The Confessions' with Connie Nielsen

New Trailer for Political Thriller 'The Confessions' with Connie Nielsen

    The Confessions Trailer

“You’re the only one who can disrupt their plans.” October Coast has debuted a new trailer for an Italian political thriller titled The Confessions, from Italian director Roberto Andò. Described as a “refreshing suspense thriller”, the story is set during a G8 meeting being held at a luxury hotel on the German coast. One of the guests is a mysterious Italian monk, invited by Daniel Rochè, the director of the International Monetary Fund. He wants the monk to receive his confession, that night, in secret. The next morning, Rochè is found dead, and off we go. Toni Servillo stars along with Connie Nielsen, Daniel Auteuil, Lambert Wilson, Pierfrancesco Favino, Moritz Bleibtreu, Johan Heldenbergh, Richard Sammel, Togo Igawa, and Marie-Josée Croze. This film looks like a heavy political thriller, might be worth watching. ›››

  • First Brief Teaser Trailer for 'Professor Marston & the Wonder Women'

First Brief Teaser Trailer for 'Professor Marston & the Wonder Women'

Professor Marston & the Wonder Women Teaser Trailer

“I wonder if you are the one with the secret identity?” Annapurna Pictures has revealed the first brief teaser trailer for the film called Professor M for short, or Professor Marston & the Wonder Women. This teaser was secretly debuted before Wonder Woman in theaters this weekend, and it’s the perfect launch, because it’s about the man and two women behind the actual comic book character of Wonder Woman. She first appeared in All Star Comics #8 in October of 1941, then on the cover in 1942. Luke Evans plays Dr. William Marston, who was in a polyamorous relationship with his wife, Elizabeth, and a former student of his, Olive Byrne. The film focuses on how Marston dealt with the controversy surrounding Wonder Woman’s creation. Rebecca Hall stars as Elizabeth Marston, and Bella Heathcote as Olive. This teaser doesn’t show much, and doesn’t even have a title card, showing only a URL for the film. But it’s something at least. ›››

  • Theatrical Trailer for Array's 'The House on Coco Road' Documentary

Theatrical Trailer for Array's 'The House on Coco Road' Documentary

The House on Coco Road Trailer

“There is a freedom tide rising in our hemisphere.” Array has released an official trailer for a documentary titled The House on Coco Road, from filmmaker Damani Baker. The documentary profiles Baker’s own family that moved away from Oakland, California in the 1980s only to end up directly inside the Grenada Revolution, which America was involved with. The film features first hand accounts from activists including Angela Davis, Fania Davis and Fannie Haughton. It also has a score by musician/songwriter Meshell Ndegeocello. This looks like another powerful, eye-opening doc about racism and the struggle for justice in America – including going all the way to Grenada to make a point. I’m very curious about seeing this doc. ›››

Tom Cruise Stars in Official Trailer for Doug Liman's 'American Made'

    American Made Trailer

“All this is legal?” “If you’re doing it for the good guys…” Universal has unveiled the first official trailer for a film titled American Made, about a pilot recruited by the CIA to be a drug runner in the 1980s. Tom Cruise stars, and I guess I should say “taking him back to his Top Gun roots as a pilot” which is obvious, this time playing Barry Seal, telling his crazy stories as a skilled pilot. This looks pretty damn cool, and it’s an intriguing follow-up for Cruise reuniting with Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman again. The full cast includes Domhnall Gleeson in another unique role, plus Caleb Landry Jones, Jesse Plemons, Jayma Mays, Sarah Wright, Lola Kirke, Connor Trinneer, Alejandro Edda, Benito Martinez. This looks like a fun can’t-believe-it’s-real story, and Cruise seems to be enjoying himself as well. See below. ›››
