Diane Keaton & Brendan Gleeson in First Trailer for 'Hampstead' Film

    Hampstead Trailer

“They really don’t want you here.” “It’s a shame, if only they’d got to know me.” An official UK trailer has debuted for a romantic drama titled Hampstead, taking place on Hampstead Heath, a large grassy public park in London. The film stars Brendan Gleeson as a man living in the wild in a hand-built shack in the park. An American woman, played by Diane Keaton, meets and falls in love with him and joins in his fight to save his home. The full cast includes James Norton, Jason Watkins, Lesley Manville and Alistair Petrie. This looks like a quirky, charming, totally-British romantic drama that may win over a few people. ›››

Watch: Ryan Reynolds Returns in First Teaser Trailer for 'Deadpool 2'

    Deadpool 2 Teaser Trailer

“Zip it, Stan Lee!” He’s back!! 20th Century Fox has officially revealed a teaser trailer for Deadpool 2, the sequel to Ryan Reynolds’ R-rated comic book movie from 2016. Reynolds returns to play Wade Wilson, the “Merc with a Mouth”, though not much is known about the plot of this next one. This teaser was secretly attached to the beginning of Logan and can be seen in theaters this weekend. No one knew it was coming, and most of us didn’t even know the sequel had started filming yet, but here we are. I love seeing surrpise teasers like this – it’s exciting and encouraging, the studio is confident and fans will notice. The cast is said to include David Harbour as Cable, but nothing is confirmed. For now – kick back and enjoy this first teaser. ›››

  • Cameron's 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' in 3D Hits Theaters in August

Cameron's 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day' in 3D Hits Theaters in August

    Terminator 2 in 3D

Briefly: The release date has been announced for the 3D conversion re-release of James Cameron’s seminal sci-fi classic Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Distrib Films US will release T2 in 3D in theaters starting on August 25th, 2017 later this summer. No exact theater list or additional info has been released yet (via Deadline), but we’ll keep an eye out for any updates released. Last August we first reported the news that Cameron’s acclaimed sci-fi action classic would be getting the 3D re-release treatment (following Titanic in 3D in 2012), but didn’t know when it would be arriving. Now we know – so mark August 25th down in your calendar, if you’re interested in seeing this. There is another new Terminator movie in development (with Deadpool’s Tim Miller set to direct for now), but Cameron will regain certain rights to Terminator in 2019.

Interview: 'Logan' Director James Mangold on Making Unique Movies

    James Mangold

“Why not allow different directors to put on the same opera and see how the directors do it differently?” There’s nothing like talking with filmmakers about their films. The best interviews are when the discussion starts naturally and flows in different directions. We could keep talking for hours, if only the publicist didn’t come in and cut us off. I interviewed Hugh Jackman a few years ago for the release of The Wolverine, but this time I wanted to talk to the director – James Mangold. I was lucky to get time with James after the premiere of his new Wolverine film, Logan, at the Berlin Film Festival. We talked about making this movie something unique, as well as his dislike for movie “universes”, the freedom of the R-rating, and much more. ›››

  • Another New Trailer for Indie Comedy 'Carrie Pilby' Starring Bel Powley

Another New Trailer for Indie Comedy 'Carrie Pilby' Starring Bel Powley

    Carrie Pilby Trailer

“Give humanity a chance.” The Orchard has released an official US trailer for the indie comedy adaptation Carrie Pilby, based on the book by Caren Lissner. We just featured an international trailer for this film a few weeks ago, but this new trailer is quite a bit better. The film stars talented young actress Bel Powley in her next big follow-up to The Diary of a Teenage Girl, her break out film from a few years ago. Powley plays Pilby, an ultra-intelligent young woman struggling to find her place in a society that is no where near as smart as she is. The cast includes Jason Ritter, Gabriel Bryne, Nathan Lane, and Vanessa Bayer. I’m interested in checking this out, it looks fun and charming. Plus I just want to see Bel Powley in another film. ›››

Official Trailer for Albert Serra's 'The Death of Louis XIV' from Cannes

The Death of Louis XIV Trailer

“Your majesty appears to be most discomfited.” An official US trailer has arrived for a French film titled The Death of Louis XIV, or La mort de Louis XIV, made by filmmaker Albert Serra. The film had its big world premiere at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival last summer. As historically accurate as they could possibly get, the film tells the story of the French monarch, played by actor Jean-Pierre Léaud. After returning from a hunting expedition in 1715, King Louis XIV felt a sharp pain in his leg. He begins to die of gangrene, surrounded by loyal followers. Described as “a wry neoclassical chamber drama, a work of pure magic”. The cast includes Patrick d’Assumçao, Marc Susini, Bernard Belin, Irène Silvagni, and Vicenç Altaió. ›››

  • Review: 'Logan' is Actor Hugh Jackman's Finest 'X-Men' Outing to Date

Review: 'Logan' is Actor Hugh Jackman's Finest 'X-Men' Outing to Date

    Logan Review

Australian actor Hugh Jackman looks tired playing Wolverine. Granted, anyone would give off the same level of weariness if they played the same role in nine films across 17 years, so there’s very little blame to be laid at the actor’s feet here. It isn’t a tiredness in having to play Wolverine so often, though, that makes the fatigue so palpable in the movie Logan, the actor’s latest and presumably final appearance as the most famous member of the X-Men squad. That’s simply his emotional mindset being conveyed in this latest entry into the X-Men franchise, the culmination of an exhausting life for the self-healing mutant. Packing as much emotional punch as it does sci-fi, blockbuster thrills, Logan ends up being a near-perfect sendoff for the character and exactly what any fan of this series would want in a finale for the beloved character. ›››

  • Another New Trailer for 'How to Be a Latin Lover' with Eugenio Derbez

Another New Trailer for 'How to Be a Latin Lover' with Eugenio Derbez

How to Be a Latin Lover Trailer

“We do whatever it takes to come out on top.” Pantelion Films has debuted another new official US trailer for the film How to Be a Latin Lover, a comedy from Ken Marino starring Eugenio Derbez (seen in Jack and Jill, Miracles from Heaven, The Book of Life). This new trailer isn’t much better than the first trailer, but they’re hoping to find an audience anyway. Eugenio Derbez stars as the titular “Latin lover” who is dumped by the wealthy older woman he was with and is forced to move in with his sister – who is played by Salma Hayek. While living with her, he bonds with her nerdy son, Hugo, played by Raphael Alejandro. The rest of the big ensemble cast includes Kristen Bell, Raquel Welch, Mckenna Grace, Rob Lowe, Michael Cera, Michaela Watkins, Rob Corddry, Rob Riggle, Rob Huebel & Renée Taylor. Enjoy. ›››

  • First Trailer for Horror 'Rock Paper Dead' from Director Tom Holland

First Trailer for Horror 'Rock Paper Dead' from Director Tom Holland

    Rock Paper Dead

“Welcome back, Peter…” This is the first horror film from director Tom Holland since Thinner in 1996. Rock Paper Dead is the new horror film made by Tom Holland, director of the original Fright Night, Child’s Play and Thinner. The film is about a serial killer named Peter “the Doll Maker” Harris, played by Luke Macfarlane, who returns to his hometown after being “cured” in a mental hospital only to relapse into his spooky, doll-maker, serial killer ways. The full cast includes Michael Madsen, Tatum O’Neal, Maureen McCormick, and Jennifer Titus. With so much innovative and unique horror being made, by comparison this looks rather lackluster. Even the lead actor seems miscast, the whole film just seems weird. ›››

  • New Official Trailer for 'The Promise' with Oscar Isaac & Christian Bale

New Official Trailer for 'The Promise' with Oscar Isaac & Christian Bale

    The Promise Trailer

“If it’s not safe for me, then it’s not safe for any of my people.” Open Road Films has released another new official trailer for the historical romantic drama The Promise, set during the last days of the Ottoman Empire. The film follows a love triangle in Turkey/Armenia between Michael, a brilliant medical student, the beautiful and sophisticated Ana, and Chris – a renowned American journalist based in Paris. Starring Oscar Isaac as Michael, Christian Bale as Chris, and Charlotte Le Bon as Ana. Also featuring Angela Sarafyan, Shohreh Aghdashloo, James Cromwell, Jean Reno, Rade Serbedzija, and Michael Stahl-David. I’m no more interested in this than I was with the first trailer. It seems like an odd attempt to tell the Armenian genocide story with a Hollywood cast. But it’s hard to pass up a movie with Isaac and Bale. ›››
