Marilyn Manson Stars in First Trailer for 'Let Me Make You a Martyr'

Let Me Make You a Martyr Trailer

“My daddy used to sing me a song…” FilmRise has debuted the first official trailer for a small town indie thriller titled Let Me Make You a Martyr, from filmmakers Corey Asraf & John Swab. This is sort of a continuation of their 2014 short film Judas’ Chariot. The film stars Marilyn Manson as a hitman hired by two adopted siblings who devise a plan to kill their abusive father. The cast includes Mark Boone Junior, Sam Quartin, Niko Nicotera, Michael Potts, William Lee Scott, and Slaine. This is an intriguing trailer that uses one chilling scene with Manson to introduce us to the film, and it’s very effective. See below. ›››

  • First Trailer for Indie Comedy 'Band Aid' Directed by Zoe Lister-Jones

First Trailer for Indie Comedy 'Band Aid' Directed by Zoe Lister-Jones

    Band Aid Trailer

“I think we’re too broken to fix.” IFC has debuted a fun trailer for the indie comedy Band Aid, the feature directorial debut of actress Zoe Lister-Jones. This charming, amusing comedy premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and is about a young husband-wife in Los Angeles who decide to turn their fights into songs, so they start a band together. Zoe Lister-Jones not only wrote & directed this, but she also stars as Anna. Adam Pally co-stars as Ben, with a cast including Fred Armisen, Jamie Chung, Brooklyn Decker, Hannah Simone, Jesse Williams, and Ravi Patel. This was one of my favorite films of Sundance this year, it’s not only laugh-out-loud funny but it’s brutally honest and heartfelt. I wrote in my review that Band Aid is a “fun film that is clearly made by passionate filmmakers who wanted to tell an honest story.” Enjoy. ›››

  • POV Sci-Fi Mayhem in Full Trailer for 'Kill Switch' Starring Dan Stevens

POV Sci-Fi Mayhem in Full Trailer for 'Kill Switch' Starring Dan Stevens

    Kill Switch Movie Trailer

“It’s something that could change the world.” What IS this movie?! Saban Films has unveiled a full-length trailer for the unique sci-fi feature Kill Switch (not related to the Steven Seagal action film Kill Switch). This is based on a POV concept short film called What’s in the Box?, which a visual effects supervisor has turned into a feature film. Dan Stevens stars as a pilot who heads into another dimension (created by an energy experiment gone wrong) to save Earth. Also starring Charity Wakefield and Bérénice Marlohe. I really don’t know what’s going on, but it does seem very cool. This looks like it’s half video game, and half movie combined into one, and I’m not sure it’s going to work. But I’m definitely curious anyway. Get ready. ›››

  • First Teaser Trailer for Comedy 'Home Again' with Reese Witherspoon

First Teaser Trailer for Comedy 'Home Again' with Reese Witherspoon

    Home Again Trailer

“Alice doesn’t know what she wants.” Open Road Films has unveiled a teaser trailer for a new comedy titled Home Again, the feature directorial debut of young filmmaker Hallie Meyers-Shyer. The spunky original Hollywood comedy is about a recently divorced woman who moves back home to Los Angeles with her two young daughters. She decides to take in three aspiring filmmaker boys who share her place with her, and disrupt things in both good ways and bad ways. Reese Witherspoon stars, along with Michael Sheen, Lake Bell, Candice Bergen, Nat Wolff, Jon Rudnitsky, Pico Alexander, and P.J. Byrne. This is a nice teaser, a good introduction with just the right amount of footage. I don’t even need to see a full trailer. ›››

  • Another Official US Trailer for Netflix's Release of Comedy 'Mindhorn'

Another Official US Trailer for Netflix's Release of Comedy 'Mindhorn'

    Mindhorn US Trailer

“Surely things aren’t that bad?” Netflix has debuted an official US trailer for their upcoming release of the British cop spoof movie titled Mindhorn. This already opened in UK cinemas earlier this month, and first premiered at the London Film Festival last year, which must mean it’s actually way better than expected. Mindhorn is about a washed-up actor named Richard Thorncroft, played by comedian Julian Barratt, who played “Mindhorn” on a 1980s detective show. He has a bionic eye that allows him to literally “see the truth”, which is why he has the eye patch. Set in the current day, the film is about Mindhorn returning to the Isle of Man to take on the job of working as a real private detective. This also stars Andrea Riseborough, Essie Davis, Russell Tovey, Simon Farnaby, David Schofield, Nicholas Farrell, Simon Callow, and Steve Coogan. It looks quite entertaining, hopefully the entire film is as funny as this trailer is. Enjoy. ›››

  • Watch: 8-Bit Cinema Version of 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Teaser Trailer

Watch: 8-Bit Cinema Version of 'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Teaser Trailer

    The Last Jedi 8-Bit Cinema

“What do you see?” These kind of trailer remakes always make me smile, no matter what. JoBlo made their own “8-bit cinema” version of the first teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, directed by Rian Johnson. This is technically 16-bit video game footage, but we still call it 8-bit because that’s where this all originated years and years ago. This video was created by John Stratman for JoBlo, while the others for many years were made by CineFix. As always, when I see movie trailers turned into video games like this, it just makes me want to bust out my NES and play old games the rest of the week. And I really wish this game actually existed, because I would play the crap out of this. But it’s just a fun companion to the actual teaser. ›››

  • Official Trailer for Indie Drama 'AWOL' with Lola Kirke & Breeda Wool

Official Trailer for Indie Drama 'AWOL' with Lola Kirke & Breeda Wool

    AWOL Trailer

“You need to start thinking about your future, honey.” The Orchard has debuted an official trailer for an indie drama titled AWOL, which played at tons of film festivals throughout 2016 and is hitting limited theaters and VOD later this month. As anyone in the military knows, AWOL stands for “Absent Without (Official) Leave”, which is part of the story in this film adapted from the director’s own short film. It’s about a young woman who is about to join the army but decides to run off with another woman she meets and falls in love with in a small town. Lola Kirke and Breeda Wool star, along with Dale Soules, Bill Sage, and Ted Welch. This seems to be heavily influenced by director Deb Shoval’s own experiences growing up in a small Pennsylvania coal town, and it looks like it tells a very honest story of love and family. Take a look. ›››

  • Jamie Bell Stars in Full-Length Trailer for True London Thriller '6 Days'

Jamie Bell Stars in Full-Length Trailer for True London Thriller '6 Days'

    6 Days Trailer

“It’s down to the negotiators to break the deadlock. Or, your men will have to storm the embassy.” An official full-length trailer has debuted for the true story action thriller film 6 Days, about the attack on the Iranian Embassy in London in 1980. The standoff lasted for six days, with a group of SAS soldiers eventually breaching the embassy to put an end to the horror. Jamie Bell stars as one of the special forces soldiers tasked with leading the raid. This also stars Mark Strong, Abbie Cornish, Emun Elliott, Nicholas Boulton, Martin Shaw, and Tim Downie. 6 Days is the latest film from the director of the Maori action film The Dead Lands. This actually looks damn good, with an impressive cast that makes it worth watching. ›››

  • Second Full-Length Trailer for 'Girls Trip' New Orleans Party Comedy

Second Full-Length Trailer for 'Girls Trip' New Orleans Party Comedy

    Girls Trip

“This weekend is about us! We deserve this.” Ugh, here we go again. Universal has released a second trailer for the summer comedy Girls Trip, opening in theaters this July. This wild comedy stars Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish as a group of friends who decide to take a “girls trip” together. This film also stars Larenz Tate, Mike Colter, Kofi Siriboe, Kate Walsh. The last two trailers for this did not look good, and honestly this one looks even worse. I highly recommend the other four-women-party-comedy movie Rough Night instead (see the latest trailer), if that’s the kind of comedy you’re looking for this summer. Because this seriously does not look funny at all. Not even worth watching. ›››

  • Final Red Band Trailer for the 'Baywatch' Movie Lets Loose on F-Bombs

Final Red Band Trailer for the 'Baywatch' Movie Lets Loose on F-Bombs

    Baywatch Movie Trailer

“Some fishy s*!t is happening on our beach…” Paramount has dropped one last trailer for the Baywatch movie, hitting theaters in just a few weeks. This final trailer is a red band trailer but only for foul language, no nudity or anything else (since there isn’t actually any in the movie). But if you want to get a real sense of what this R-rated summer comedy is like, then watch this. Even though it does show a bit too much of the movie, so watch out. Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson star as two feuding, hunky Baywatch lifeguards; with Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra, Pamela Anderson, Ilfenesh Hadera, Charlotte McKinney, Kelly Rohrbach, Hannibal Buress, plus of course David Hasselhoff. Also note, this is now being released on Thursday, May 25th, and not Friday. In case you really need to see it one day early. ›››
