Full US Trailer for Dante Lam's Latest Action Movie 'Operation Red Sea'

    Operation Red Sea Trailer

“This mission is a message to all terrorists.” Well Go USA has released an official trailer for an action movie titled Operation Red Sea, made by Hong Kong filmmaker Dante Lam, who last made the action movie Operation Mekong. This sort-of-sequel is about the Chinese Navy’s elite Jiaolong Assault Team who gear up and head into action when a terrorist plot to obtain nuclear materials is hidden under the cover of a violent coup. This pretty much looks if Michael Bay was from China, with all of his usual explosive touches. It also seems perhaps like a Chinese propaganda movie about how great their navy is. The huge cast includes Yi Zhang, Johnny Huang, Hai-Qing, Jiang Du, Luxia Jiang, Fang Yin, Yutian Wang, Jiahao Guo, and Henry Prince Mak. This also takes place mostly in the desert, despite the “Red Sea” part of the title. ›››

Official Trailer for 'Did You Wonder Who Fired the Gun?' Documentary

Did You Wonder Who Fired the Gun? Trailer

“An urgent, often corrosive look at America’s past and present.” Grasshopper Films recently released this official trailer for a highly acclaimed documentary titled Did You Wonder Who Fired the Gun?, made by filmmaker Travis Wilkerson examining his own family history. This premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, and also played at the New York Film Festival, with a limited release coming later this month. Set in Alabama, the film is about the filmmaker’s great-grandfather, who murdered a black man in 1946 and got away with it. So he decides to look back at what happened, a personal reckoning with family, murder, and the corrosive racial tensions that have carried from past to present. This trailer doesn’t reveal too much, but it does give you an idea of the look and feel of the film, which seems to have a unique highly-saturated tone. ›››

  • Andie MacDowell & Chris O'Dowd in Trailer for Indie 'Love After Love'

Andie MacDowell & Chris O'Dowd in Trailer for Indie 'Love After Love'

    Love After Love Trailer

“I want to see you happy and fulfilled.” IFC Films has debuted an official trailer for the indie drama Love After Love, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year and also played at the Edinburgh, Nantucket, and Palm Springs Film Festivals. Love After Love is the feature directorial debut of Russell Harbaugh (who was nominated for an Indie Spirit Award for co-writing The Mend in 2016) and stars Andie MacDowell, Chris O’Dowd, and James Adomian. MacDowell plays a mother grieving over the death of her husband, trying to care for her two adult sons who are dealing with trials in their own lives while they watch their mother explore new beginnings of her own. Each discovers how hard it is to find love again after losing someone close. Also starring Francesca Faridany, Seth Barrish, Romy Byrne, and Andrew Beadle. This doesn’t look as sad as it sounds, with some uplifting and funny moments worked in. ›››

  • Meet Cable in New Trailer for Gnarly 'Deadpool 2' with Ryan Reynolds

Meet Cable in New Trailer for Gnarly 'Deadpool 2' with Ryan Reynolds

    Deadpool 2 Trailer

“People think they understand pain, but they have no concept of it.” Fox has released the newest trailer for Deadpool 2, and once again it’s a unique twist on things, because the focus is all on the badass new badguy Cable – played by Josh Brolin (the same actor playing Thanos in the other Marvel movies). This is such a great trailer – I love the way it pauses and goes to Deadpool’s wacky playtime, then continues with some awesome footage. Ryan Reynolds is, of course, back as the “Merc with a Mouth”, Deadpool. The sequel’s full cast includes Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, T.J. Miller, Eddie Marsan, Zazie Beetz, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Julian Dennison, and Stefan Kapicic. I also love how much this trailer is blatantly self-referential, in all the right ways, and doesn’t hold back (red bad much?). Fire it up below. ›››

  • David Tennant & Robert Sheehan in Official Trailer for 'Bad Samaritan'

David Tennant & Robert Sheehan in Official Trailer for 'Bad Samaritan'

    Bad Samaritan Trailer

“We don’t have much time!” Electric Entertainment has unveiled the first official trailer for an indie action horror thriller titled Bad Samaritan, the latest film directed by producer/writer Dean Devlin. The film is about a pair of clever young thieves who rob the houses of rich people, but one day one of them winds up at a home where a woman is being held against her will. When he tries to call it in, the police find nothing, and he ends up in the sights of the kidnapper while trying to figure out how to save her. Robert Sheehan stars, along with David Tennant, Carlito Olivero, Kerry Condon, Lisa Brenner, Hannah Barefoot, and Jacqueline Byers. This looks fairly creepy, with Tennant giving a good subdued evil performance. I’m actually interested in seeing this, a slick psychological thriller about a lunatic almost like American Psycho. ›››

  • New Red Band Grindhouse Trailer for Eli Roth's 'Death Wish' Remake

New Red Band Grindhouse Trailer for Eli Roth's 'Death Wish' Remake

    Death Wish Remake Trailer

“If a man really wants to protect what’s his, he has to do it for himself.” Ready for some gritty Grindhouse action? MGM has released a new red band trailer for Eli Roth’s new remake of the 1974 action movie Death Wish. This is a “Grindhouse” trailer, referencing both the 2007 film and the all original ultra-violent, low-budget films that were released this way in the 70s. We’ve already seen two trailers previously, but this one is a bit better because of the style. This newest version of Death Wish stars Bruce Willis as a doctor at a hospital who decides to become a silent vigilante when his family is assaulted. The city begins to question whether he is a is a guardian angel or a grim reaper. Also starring Vincent D’Onofrio, Elisabeth Shue, Camila Morrone, Jack Kesy, Dean Norris, Beau Knapp, Kirby Bliss Blanton, and Mike Epps. This is a better trailer than the others, but I still don’t think this film is going to be that great. Grind it up. ›››

Check Out the Dinosaur Protection Group Viral Site for 'Jurassic World'

    Dinosaur Protection Group

Save the dinos! Over the weekend, we were treated to a brand new trailer for J.A. Bayona’s dinosaur sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, hitting theaters this June. Along with this debut, a new viral website has popped up online for something called the “Dinosaur Protection Group” – with a team lead by Bryce Dallas Howard’s character Claire Dearing. The site explains that the DPG is “dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all living dinosaurs.” It also states that “dinosaurs are not ours to experiment upon or exploit for entertainment or financial gain. Though we brought them back to existence, we do not thereby claim the right to assume control of them.” Ain’t that the truth. There’s also a Volcano Watch page which ties right into the plot of the film where they go back to the island in hopes of saving some dinos before this volcano erupts. Though, based on the first footage, it erupts when they’re there and then they must escape. ›››

The cast includes Gabriel Bateman, Darby Camp, Kiele Sanchez, Jerod Haynes, Will Rothhaar, and Angus Sampson. This is just a teaser but it looks adorable, of course. Check it out. ›››

  • Melissa McCarthy in First Trailer for Summer Comedy 'Life of the Party'

Melissa McCarthy in First Trailer for Summer Comedy 'Life of the Party'

    Life of the Party Trailer

“That’s why somebody’s mom just enrolled in college!” Warner Bros has unveiled the first official trailer for summer comedy Life of the Party, in theaters this May, the latest collaboration between actress Melissa McCarthy and filmmaker Ben Falcone (who also happen to be married), both of Tammy and The Boss previously. McCarthy once again stars in Life of the Party as a woman who decides to go back to college after being dumped by her husband, but ends up in the same class and school as her daughter. So, of course, she decides to become the “life of the party” and live it up while enjoying her return to wild school life. The full cast includes Debby Ryan, Gillian Jacobs, Julie Bowen, Jacki Weaver, Maya Rudolph, Adria Arjona, and Stephen Root. This looks terrible, seriously, painfully bad humor that doesn’t land. Caution. ›››

  • Full Teaser Trailer for 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Starring Alden Ehrenreich

Full Teaser Trailer for 'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Starring Alden Ehrenreich

Solo: A Star Wars Story Trailer

“I’m going to be a pilot… best in the galaxy.” Disney + Lucasfilm have released the first full teaser trailer for Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story movie, starring Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han Solo. This follows up the 30 seconds of footage Disney aired during the Super Bowl yesterday, and it gives us a very good look at what to expect. Solo hits theaters in May, which is now only three months away. The full cast includes Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian (so badass!!), plus Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Thandie Newton, Warwick Davis (of course), Clint Howard, and Joonas Suotamo returning as Chewbacca. Honestly, I think this looks great. There’s some odd touches to this, but overall it looks like a fun space adventure with some awkward comedy. This music actually seems the weirdest to me. ›››
