Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Trailer

“Magic blooms only in rare souls… Still we must skulk in the shadows.” Warner Bros has debuted a new full-length trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, following its premiere inside of Hall H at Comic-Con in San Diego. This epic sequel is once again directed by David Yates, the next chapter in the newest J.K. Rowling spin-off series. Eddie Redmayne returns as magizoologist Newt Scamander, and the rest of the key cast is back: Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Carmen Ejogo, Zoe Kravitz, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol. Newcomers for this sequel include Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald, Jessica Williams, Claudia Kim, and Callum Turner, plus Jude Law as a young Albus Dumbledore. This is a serious, full-on 3+ minute trailer with some very epic footage. I’m honestly excited, it looks great. It’s also nice to go back into a fully realized, detailed world of creatures and magic everywhere. Take a look. ›››

Superb First Trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's Highly Anticipated 'Glass'

    Glass Teaser Trailer

“This is not a cartoon, this is the real world.” Universal has revealed the first official teaser trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, the highly anticipated sequel to Shyamalan’s Split from 2016, which turned out to be a secret sequel to Unbreakable. Glass combines all three and brings back all of the characters: James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, a serial killer with 24 personalities; Bruce Willis as the “unbreakable” David Dunn; and Samuel L. Jackson as the frail evil villain Elijah Price, aka Mr. Glass. The full cast also includes Sarah Paulson as their psychiatrist, Anya Taylor-Joy, Spencer Treat Clark, Luke Kirby, Charlayne Woodard, and Rob Yang. This is a hell of a first trailer, really getting right into it and giving us some footage that looks fantastic. I am more than sold on this, it looks even better than I was expecting. ›››

  • Full-Length Trailer for Filipino Action Film 'BuyBust' with Anne Curtis

Full-Length Trailer for Filipino Action Film 'BuyBust' with Anne Curtis

    BuyBust Trailer

“The only way out – is to fight.” Well Go USA has debuted an awesome new full-length official trailer for an action thriller from the Philippines titled BuyBust, the latest film made by veteran Filipino filmmaker Erik Matti. The teaser trailer was promising, and this trailer has some impressive action as well. Might actually be worth a watch. The plot of BuyBust involves the anti-drug enforcement agency staging a massive drug bust in the slums of Manila in the Philippines. But when things go wrong, they get stuck in the middle of a brutal drug gang and hordes of bloodthirsty citizens, so their only option is to fight their way out. Hell yes. Anne Curtis (from In Your Eyes, The Gifted) stars, with Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying, Victor Neri, Joross Gamboa, Nafa Hilario-Cruz, Brandon Vera, and Nonie Buencamino. The action in this looks totally badass! These fights plus Anne Curtis kicking ass – this film is on my must see list for sure. ›››

  • Short Teaser Trailer for CNN's 'Apollo 11' Moon Landing Documentary

Short Teaser Trailer for CNN's 'Apollo 11' Moon Landing Documentary

    Apollo 11 Trailer

“50 years in the making…” Neon and CNN Films have released the first teaser trailer for a new documentary titled simply Apollo 11, from doc director Todd Douglas Miller (Gahanna Bill, Dinosaur 13). This feature film is made up entirely of never-before-seen large-format film footage of the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. Here’s to hoping this will get a full-format IMAX release, because yes please. Neon announced the news coinciding with the 49th anniversary of the 1969 landing on the Moon (they landed on July 20th, 1969) by mission commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin. This is also most definitely a tie-in with Damien Chazelle’s new film First Man, about Neil Armstrong and the Apollo 11 mission, though there’s no mention in the press release (different studios, makes sense). I’m a big space nerd – can’t wait to see more from this. ›››

  • First Trailer for Next Norwegian Disaster Movie 'The Quake' Set in Oslo

First Trailer for Next Norwegian Disaster Movie 'The Quake' Set in Oslo

    The Quake Trailer

“But what if it’s not the same strength as in 1904…?” Nordisk Filmdistribusjon already released an official trailer for a Norwegian disaster movie titled The Quake, the next big Norwegian disaster movie to follow the highly successful The Wave from 2015. As you might expect, the movie is about an Earthquake that hits Oslo, centered on a fault-line underneath the city of 1.7 million. Also known as Skjelvet in Norwegian, this is opening in August in Norway but still has no other international release plans set yet. Starring Ane Dahl Torp, Kristoffer Joner, Hang Tran, and Jonas Hoff Oftebro. The footage actually looks like a Roland Emmerich-esque disaster movie, so good work in that sense, but I’m not too sure it’s going to be any good. ›››

  • Teaser Trailer for Renny Harlin's 'Legend of the Ancient Sword' Movie

Teaser Trailer for Renny Harlin's 'Legend of the Ancient Sword' Movie

Legend of the Ancient Sword Trailer

Nothing like some campy Chinese fantasy action to start the day, right? The first teaser trailer has debuted online for a new Chinese fantasy-adventure-action film directed by action veteran Renny Harlin (of Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, Cutthroat Island, The Long Kiss Goodnight, Deep Blue Sea, Exorcist: The Beginning, 12 Rounds, Skiptrace) titled Legend of the Ancient Sword. Based on the video game “Gu Jian Qi Tan 2“, the film centers around a young student of a lost martial arts form (called “Yan”) who heads out from his hometown to find a great master. The main cast includes Leehom Wang, Victoria Song, Godfrey Gao, Karena Ng, Julian Cheung, Archie Kao, Ada Liu, and Li Yan. This looks pretty much exactly like it sounds: packed with CGI action, vibrant sets, eccentric characters, and a flaming “ancient” sword. Have fun. ›››

  • New US Trailer for Vibrant Doc About Musician 'Matangi/Maya/M.I.A.'

New US Trailer for Vibrant Doc About Musician 'Matangi/Maya/M.I.A.'

    Matangi/Maya/M.I.A. Trailer

“Music was my medicine. It just blew up so quickly…” Abramorama has released the first official US trailer for a documentary titled Matangi/Maya/M.I.A., a profile of the badass Sri Lankan singer / songwriter / rapper / musician / artist / activist known as M.I.A. Her real name is Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, and this deeply personal film takes us into her life, her childhood, her upbringing, and her story as she becomes famous around the world, and encounters resistance when she starts speaking out against issues that are dear to her. This premiered at the Sundance and Berlin Film Festivals this year, where I first saw it. I wrote in my glowing review: “this seems like a film that is another music documentary about a pop star and her rise to fame and fortune and glory. But it’s anything but that. It’s actually a much more personal, intimate story of a young woman who wants to bring attention to and raise awareness about very dire problems in the world, and injustices, and do so using the power of the microphone.” This is definitely a worth watching doc. ›››

Featuring rare interviews and never-before-seen archival footage, Lynyrd Skynyrd: If I Leave Here Tomorrow takes viewers on a trip through the history, myth and legend of one of the most iconic American rock bands. First Trailer for Corporate Comedy 'Second Act' Starring Jennifer Lopez

    Second Act Trailer

“Don’t confuse this Facebook thing with who you really are.” STX Ent. has debuted the first official trailer for a comedy titled Second Act, the latest feature film from veteran comedy director Peter Segal (Tommy Boy, Anger Management, 50 First Dates, The Longest Yard, Get Smart, Grudge Match). Second Act is about a big box store worker named Maya, played by Jennifer Lopez, who reinvents her life and her life-story and shows Madison Avenue what street smarts can do. My eyes are rolling already just reading this description. Just wait until you see the footage in the trailer, oh yes, it’s even worse. The cast includes Milo Ventimiglia, Vanessa Hudgens, Leah Remini, Charlyne Yi, Freddie Stroma, Treat Williams, Dave Foley, and Larry Miller. This is definitely not for me, but maybe some others will perhaps enjoy it. ›››

  • Full US Trailer for Korean Double Agent Thriller 'The Spy Gone North'

Full US Trailer for Korean Double Agent Thriller 'The Spy Gone North'

    The Spy Gone North Trailer

“His influence in the North is unimaginable.” CJ Entertainment has just released a new full-length official trailer for a political thriller titled The Spy Gone North, which first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the Midnight section earlier this summer. If you’re into political thrillers, this is definitely a must see. The latest from Korean filmmaker Yoon Jong-bin (The Unforgiven, Kundo: Age of the Rampant), the double agent film follows a South Korean spy who infiltrates the North to obtain intelligence on the country’s nuclear weapons plans in the mid-1990s. This stars Hwang Jung-min, Lee Sung-min, Cho Jin-woong, and Ju Ji-hoon. The new trailer is as intense and compelling as the first teaser previously, but with even more clarity. This seems like such a sneaky, complex noir thriller and I’m very curious to check it out myself. ›››
