Full Red Band Trailer for Crazy Awesome Indie 'Assassination Nation'

    Assassination Nation Trailer

“Looks like half of Salem just got hacked.” This is one wild & crazy trailer! Neon has released the full-length, official red band trailer for the film Assassination Nation, one of the big breakouts from the Midnight category at Sundance this year. From writer/director Sam Levinson, the film is about the town of Salem, Massachusetts and how everyone loses their minds when a hacker releases the entire internet history of everyone in the town. It’s much smarter than you think and features some incredible filmmaking, not only with the performances but everything else abou tit. The cast of rowdy youngsters includes Odessa Young, Suki Waterhouse, Hari Nef, Abra, Anika Noni Rose, Colman Domingo, Maude Apatow, Kelvin Harrison Jr., with Bill Skarsgard, Joel McHale, and Bella Thorne. This is one super violent, bloody, intense trailer but they’re pushing this out to give everyone a taste of what this film really is like. I’ve been raving about this film ever since its premiere at Sundance, and I expect it to be a big hit once it hits theaters. ›››

Rad First Teaser Trailer for Cult Sci-Fi 'The FP' Sequel 'Beats of Rage'

    Beats of Rage Trailer

“Winning is an addiction, JTRO!” Get ready for a sequel to that cult indie sci-fi film that you didn’t see! The first teaser trailer has arrived for Beats of Rage, a sequel to The FP, a cult sci-fi film about a futuristic world where winning the Dance-Dance-Revolution arcade game is the greatest glory. Jason Trost writes, directs, produces, and stars in this sequel as JTRO, who hung up his boots at the end of The FP. He’s back, however, just like all great 80’s post-apocalyptic sequels and must venture into “The Wastes” to train again to defeat a bro known as AK-47. Jason is solo directing this, separating from his brother Brandon, as the two made the original film together as the Trost Brothers (Brandon is now working as a DP on other films). The cast of Beats of Rage includes Art Hsu, Mike O’Gorman, Nick Principe, Tallay Wickham, Brandon Barrera, Michael Davis, and Bru Muller. I dig how mock retro and super crazy this film looks already. ›››

Official Trailer for Susanna Nicchiarelli's Music Biopic Film 'Nico, 1988'

    Nico, 1998

“I don’t need everybody to like me, I don’t care.” Magnolia Pictures has debuted the trailer for a film titled Nico, 1988, a music biopic profiling the life of singer-songwriter Christa Päffgen, better known by her stage name “Nico“. She was one of Andy Warhol’s muses and also the celebrated vocalist for The Velvet Underground, until she tragically died at age 49 in 1988. “Writer-director Susanna Nicchiarelli dives deep into the anguished and scattered psychology of Nico’s final years. She blends a tangible reverence for her subject with dark humor, crafting a riveting examination of a fragile artist constantly pushed to perform.” Danish actress Trine Dyrholm stars as Nico, along with John Gordon Sinclair, Anamaria Marinca, Sandor Funtek, Thomas Trabacchi, Karina Fernandez, Calvin Demba, and Francesco Colella. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival last year, and hit a bunch of other festivals before its release. ›››

Nathan Fillion is Nathan Drake in an Unofficial 'Uncharted' Short Film

    Uncharted Short Film

“My employer is not a man you want to cross.” After all the support from fans, Nathan Fillion went off and decided to star in his own live-action, unofficial short film for Uncharted. Fillion has teamed up with director Allan Ungar, producing and starring in this homemade short film about Nathan Drake trying to escape unharmed. In addition to Fillion, this stars Stephen Lang as Sully, Geno Segers as Diego, Mircea Monroe as Elena, and Ernie Reyes Jr. as El Tigre. This film plays up the humor and cockiness of Drake, along with his skills of sneakiness and hand-to-hand combat. It’s considerably entertaining even though it’s very simply put together, which is probably why this work so well. It’s all about the character. Watch below. ›››

Official Trailer for 'On the Basis of Sex' Starring Felicity Jones as RBG

On the Basis of Sex Trailer

“Her story made history.” Focus Features has debuted the first trailer for On the Basis of Sex, a new dramatic film about the early days of iconic Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Felicity Jones plays RBG, and Armie Hammer plays her husband Marty, in a new film by director Mimi Leder (of The Peacemaker, Deep Impact, Pay It Forward). The title is a reference to a line from one of (or many of) RBG’s speeches, in which she explained: “the U.S. Constitution is nearly 220 years old and contains no express provision opposing discrimination on the basis of gender.” This film is a compliment to the documentary about her, titled simply RBG now playing in theaters. And it will premiere later this year in line with Justice Ginsburg’s 25th anniversary on the Supreme Court. The cast includes Justin Theroux, Cailee Spaeny, Kathy Bates, Stephen Root, Jack Reynor, Sam Waterston, and Francis X. McCarthy. Take a look. ›››

  • Elle Fanning in French Teaser Trailer for Mélanie Laurent's 'Galveston'

Elle Fanning in French Teaser Trailer for Mélanie Laurent's 'Galveston'

    Galveston Teaser Trailer

“Are you going to kill me?” “No.” The Jokers distribution out of France has debuted the first teaser trailer for an indie film titled Galveston, the latest feature directed by French actress Mélanie Laurent (The Adopted, Breathe). This originally premiered at the SXSW Film Festival earlier this year, which makes sense considering it’s set in/around Texas and it’s also Laurent’s first American film. Ben Foster stars as Roy, a man on the run after a violent encounter with his boss. He picks up a prostitute named Raquel, played by Elle Fanning, and decides to take her with him as he tries to escape to Galveston, Texas. The cast includes Lili Reinhart, María Valverde, Beau Bridges, Robert Aramayo, and Adepero Oduye. This really looks like a very dark, intense, moody action-thriller more than a drama, with some slick cinematography. ›››
