New Red Band Trailer for 'CHIPS' with Michael Pena & Dax Shepard

    CHIPS Movie Trailer

“I’m a tough motorcycle cop. I’ve got no emotion.” Warner Bros has debuted a new red band trailer for the CHIPS movie, a big screen version of the goofy TV show about California Highway Patrolmen. This comedy is yet another update on barely-remembered, totally cheesy TV shows, like 21 Jump Street, now packed with self-awareness and contemporary humor. Dax Shepard directs himself in the film, co-starring Michael Pena, plus Jessica McNamee, Adam Brody, Ryan Hansen, Vincent D’Onofrio, Justin Chatwin and Kristen Bell. The first trailer made this look like they’re borrowing from Super Troopers. This new trailer makes it look like they’re borrowing from Point Break. Either way, this really doesn’t look good at all. ›››

  • First Full Trailer for 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'

First Full Trailer for 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'

Dead Men Tell No Tales Trailer

“The dead have taken command of the sea…” Disney has revealed the first full-length trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, directed by the two Norwegian filmmakers who made the fantastic film Kon-Tiki. Following up the first teaser trailer and Super Bowl spot, this trailer finally shows Johnny Depp back as Captain Jack at the helm again, as well as Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar who has a vendetta against Jack, and Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa. The full cast includes Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, Orlando Bloom, David Wenham, Kevin McNally, Golshifteh Farahani, plus surprises from past films. As usual, there are some crazy cool visuals in these movies, but I’m not sure if it’ll be any good. I already lost interest in this series after the last movie. This doesn’t seem so bad at first glance. ›››

  • New Trailer for Cate Shortland's 'Berlin Syndrome' with Teresa Palmer

New Trailer for Cate Shortland's 'Berlin Syndrome' with Teresa Palmer

    Berlin Syndrome Trailer

“I wish I could stay…” The first official trailer for Australian filmmaker Cate Shortland’s thriller Berlin Syndrome has arrived online. This film premiered at Sundance Film Festival this year in the World Competition section, and it’s kind of a dramatic suspense-thriller about an Australian tourist visiting Berlin. She meets a guy and goes home with him, but wakes up and discovers she’s trapped inside his apartment, and can’t get out at all. It gets a bit crazy at that point, as she tries to figure out what’s going. Max Riemelt stars, along with Teresa Palmerv. The cast includes Lucie Aron, and Matthias Habich. This is a very powerful trailer, I’m impressed. It’s a good film, but a bit weird as you can see from the footage. Take a look. ›››

Watch: Lovely Animated Short 'Precipicio' Examines Our Daily Routine

    Precipicio Short Film

“In each one of their faces, I see fear.” Sometimes brevity is better. This new short film is only two minutes long, but there’s so much to it that will take you more than two minutes to think about. Precipicio is made by filmmaker/animator Wendy Eduarte, written by (and featuring the voice of) William Eduarte. The title Precipicio translates simply to “Precipice”, which will make more sense once you watch this. The short examines the daily routine of one sick man, at the end of his life. It’s a poignant reminder about how short life is, and how we take so much for granted. The animation is lovely, I want to watch more stories like this. ›››

  • New Official Trailer for Indie Film 'Mean Dreams' Featuring Bill Paxton

New Official Trailer for Indie Film 'Mean Dreams' Featuring Bill Paxton

    Mean Dreams Trailer

“I wouldn’t get too attached to that boy…” An official international trailer has debuted for an indie film titled Mean Dreams, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last year (in the Directors’ Fortnight sidebar) and also played at the Deauville Film Festival and TIFF. The stylish romantic thriller is about Casey and Jonas, two teens desperate to escape their broken and abusive homes after falling in love. This stars Sophie Nélisse as Casey and Josh Wiggins (from Hellion, Max) as Jonas, along with Bill Paxton and Colm Feore. I caught this film at Cannes last year and it’s solid, an enjoyable and thrilling story about young lovers. The lead performances are outstanding, making the film better than it really is. Worth a look. ›››

  • Review: James Mangold's 'Logan' is Brutal, Beautiful & Heartbreaking

Review: James Mangold's 'Logan' is Brutal, Beautiful & Heartbreaking

    Logan Movie Review

Australian actor Hugh Jackman first played the character of Wolverine back in 2000 in the film that launched the modern day, comic book blockbuster – Bryan Singer’s X-Men. Now 17 years later, the Academy Award-nominated actor has inhabited the character an unprecedented nine times on the big screen — that’s more times than Roger Moore suited up as James Bond or Robert Englund terrorized Elm Street as Freddy Krueger. With Logan, out in theaters everywhere on March 3rd, Jackman and director James Mangold (of Walk the Line, 3:10 to Yuma, and The Wolverine) craft something special as a means of laying to rest Jackman’s iconic role: an intimate, character-driven film that is brutal, beautiful, and deeply affecting. ›››

  • Teaser Trailer for David Michôd's 'War Machine' Featuring Brad Pitt

Teaser Trailer for David Michôd's 'War Machine' Featuring Brad Pitt

    War Machine Teaser Trailer

“That, General, you must know, is a war you will never win.” Netflix has unveiled a teaser trailer for the new film from Animal Kingdom writer-director David Michôd, titled War Machine, based on the book by the late journalist Michael Hastings. The film has nothing to do with Iron Man or Marvel, or anything in that realm (despite the title). Brad Pitt plays a four star general involved in the Afghanistan war, who must deal with the repercussions of a challenging war. Described as a “pitch-black war story for our times”, this seems like a brutally honest look at how bad the Afghanistan war really was. Also starring Tilda Swinton, Sir Ben Kingsley, Anthony Michael Hall, Topher Grace, Will Poulter, Keith Stanfield, Emory Cohen, John Magaro, RJ Cyler, Alan Ruck, Scoot McNairy and Meg Tilly. Get your first look below. ›››

One More Red Band Trailer for the 'Goon: Last of the Enforcers' Sequel

Goon: Last of the Enforcers Trailer

“You do what you need to do with the time you’ve got.” Who doesn’t love hockey fights? eOne has released another new trailer for the hockey comedy sequel Goon: Last of the Enforcers, this time a red band trailer full of blood and violence and foul language galore. Seann William Scott returns as Doug Glatt, the hockey player who just loves to fight, picking up where the story left off in Goon. He plans to retire from hockey (and fighting) but ends up back on the ice again, being trained for left-handed fighting by none other than Ross Rhea himself – Liev Schreiber. The cast includes Elisha Cuthbert, Liev Schreiber, Alison Pill, T.J. Miller, Wyatt Russell, Marc-André Grondin, Jason Jones, Kim Coates. I like this trailer. ›››

Third Trailer Lands for James Gunn's 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2'

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Trailer

“Groot – put your seat belt on!” Ready to rock ‘n roll? Marvel has unveiled the third trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, James Gunn’s follow-up to the hugely successful Marvel sci-fi superhero movie from 2014. This trailer is set to Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain”, which seems pretty much perfect for this movie. Chris Pratt returns as Star-Lord, with a cast including Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Chris Sullivan, Elizabeth Debicki, Kurt Russell, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Nathan Fillion, Glenn Close, as well as Pom Klementieff; plus Vin Diesel as Groot and Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon. There’s a bit more footage in this and it’s looking better and better as we get closer to release. This is going to rule. ›››

Freaky New Xenomorph Revealed in Second Trailer for 'Alien: Covenant'

    Alien: Covenant Trailer

“Where is it?!?” Holy crap! You have to see this! Fox has dropped the second official trailer for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant, the latest movie in the Alien franchise. This spooky trailer is all about the big reveal of the new xenomorph (or the neomorph) from the movie, which looks totally gnarly. Seriously! This looks so damn good, much better than the first trailer. The huge cast includes: Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, James Franco, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, Demián Bichir, Jussie Smollett, Uli Latukefu, Benjamin Rigby, and Amy Seimetz. Now this is what I’m talking about! Totally an exciting trailer, the perfect little glimpses of soon-to-be iconic moments. I hope we don’t see anything more than this before the movie hits theaters, because what a great tease! Wow. ›››
