Watch: Roundtable Discussion on Nolan's 'Dunkirk' + More TV Spots

    Dunkirk Movie

“What’s your favorite thing about working with Chris?” Warner Bros has launched their final round of marketing for Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk, arriving in theaters this month. One of their latest featurettes is a roundtable discussion between the four young actors who star in the film as soldiers: Jack Lowden, Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Harry Styles. The film is an intense, rescue story set in 1940 at the beginning of WWII. When Allied soldiers from Belgium, Britain and France were surrounded by the German army during a fierce battle in France, they had to evacuate by civilian boats across the English channel to get home safely. We’ve seen plenty of other trailers for Dunkirk so far, but it’s cool that they’re promoting this with a discussion among the actors talking about making this film. I’m very excited to see it. ›››

Fireworks & James Bond to Begin the 52nd Karlovy Vary Film Festival

    Karlovy Vary Film Festival

I am attending the Karlovy Vary Film Festival for my very first time this year, and I’m already in love with it. This charming, energetic festival takes place in a small spa town called Karlovy Vary (or also known as Carlsbad) about two hours west of Prague in the Czech Republic. The festival is celebrating its 52nd year, and they’ve been gaining more and more recognition in the last few years. Living in Berlin now, Prague is just a short hop away, so I decided to attend Karlovy Vary for my first time and catch up on more great films this year. It’s always exciting to attend a film festival for the first time, and this one is special. I couldn’t be happier to be here and begin watching films, discovering more gems after Sundance, Berlinale, and Cannes. ›››

Colorful Official Trailer for 'My Little Pony: The Movie' from Lionsgate

    My Little Pony: The Movie

“Friendship comes in many colors.” Lionsgate has debuted the colorful official trailer for the long-awaited, highly anticipated animated My Little Pony: The Movie. Indeed, we’ve been hearing rumors about a My Little Pony movie and it’s finally here – hitting theaters in October! I think I would be more excited for this if it were a live-action/hybrid movie, but it’s just a full-length feature based on all the animated TV shows and videos already available. When a dark force threatens Ponyville and the Mane 6, they go on a journey to the end of Equestria to save their beloved home. Featuring the voices of Zoe Saldana, Kristin Chenoweth, Emily Blunt, Uzo Aduba, Liev Schreiber, Michael Peña, Tara Strong, Taye Diggs, and Sia; as well as all the original voices from the TV shows as the Mane 6. This looks totally friend-tastic charming! Enjoy. ›››

James Cameron Talks About Seeing 'Terminator 2' in 3D in New Trailer

    Terminator 2 in 3D Trailer

“The images feel more real in 3D. There’s a lucidity to it, you really feel like you’re there.” Distrib Films US has debuted a second official trailer for the forthcoming re-release of James Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day in 3D. The 3D upgrade was overseen by Cameron himself, as well as DMG Entertainment and StudioCanal, so rest assured it will be top quality. This trailer is similar to the first trailer, but includes clips of Cameron talking about how great the 3D looks, and how cool it is to go back and revisit this movie in 3D some 25 years later. “It looks pretty spectacular.” However, this trailer is only available in 2D. This sci-fi action classic stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, Robert Patrick, Earl Boen, and Joe Morton. I still don’t know if I really want to see this in 3D or not. What about you? ›››

  • First UK Trailer for Biopic 'England Is Mine' About Musician Morrissey

First UK Trailer for Biopic 'England Is Mine' About Musician Morrissey

    England Is Mine Trailer

“Steven, what are you waiting for? Take a chance.” Entertainment One in the UK has revealed an official trailer for a film titled England Is Mine, a biopic telling the story of famed musician and singer Steven Patrick Morrissey. Morrissey is played by Jack Lowden (seen in ’71, A United Kingdom, Denial, Tommy’s Honour) in the film, and the rest of the cast includes Jessica Brown Findlay, Jodie Comer, Peter McDonald, Laurie Kynaston, Simone Kirby, Finney Cassidy, and Katherine Pearce.. Set in the 1970s in Manchester, the film is about his early life as a young teenager before he became the lead singer of seminal 80’s band The Smiths, along with his first fateful encounter with Johnny Marr. This looks very good, reminds me a bit of Sing Street with his musician dreams. Will be seeing this when it opens. Check it. ›››

  • Charlize Theron Kicks Ass in Berlin in Final Trailer for 'Atomic Blonde'

Charlize Theron Kicks Ass in Berlin in Final Trailer for 'Atomic Blonde'

    Atomic Blonde Trailer

“Someone set me up. Someone from the inside.” Bring on the ass kicking mayhem! Universal has released a third and final trailer for the action movie Atomic Blonde, set in Berlin. Starring Charlize Theron as an undercover MI6 agent (and/or assassin) sent to Berlin during the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent. This is directed by David Leitch, a stuntman who worked on co-directing John Wick (before he was uncredited) and he’s already off directing Deadpool 2 now. This premiered at SXSW to rave reviews and I’m excited to see it as soon as it opens. The full cast includes Bill Skarsgård, Sofia Boutella, James McAvoy, John Goodman, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, James Faulkner, and Roland Møller. This is a nice, short trailer that doesn’t give away much and packs in lots of action to get you in a mood to see it. ›››

  • First Official Trailer for Horror Film 'Polaroid' About a Deadly Camera

First Official Trailer for Horror Film 'Polaroid' About a Deadly Camera

    Polaroid Trailer

“Sometimes to deal with tragedies we make up urban legends.” The Weinstein Company / Dimension Films has debuted the official trailer for a horror film titled Polaroid, about an Polaroid camera that kills people. Well, not exactly. The story is about a high schooler who finds an old Polaroid camera, and anyone who gets their picture taken by it will die in a “violent and tragic death.” Not the most original concept, but seems like it has some good kills in it. Starring Kathryn Prescott, Mitch Pileggi, Grace Zabriskie, Tyler Young, Keenan Tracey, Samantha Logan, Priscilla Quintana, Madelaine Petsch and Javier Botet. This is based on the horror short Polaroid also from director Lars Klevberg, who is making his feature debut here. ›››

Wesley Snipes Stars in First Trailer for Sci-Fi Action 'Armed Response'

    Armed Response Trailer

“Whoever did this is still inside.” Saban Films has debuted the trailer for a weird new sci-fi action thriller titled Armed Response, starring Wesley Snipes – who seems to be back in action between this and The Recall. The film is about a crew of special forces soldiers who go to a special high-tech military compound to investigate the disappearance of another team guarding the facility. The facility, known as a “Temple”, is run by artificial intelligence designed to interrogate high level prisoners. But things get very strange as soon as they arrive. This also stars Anne Heche, Dave Annable, Gene Simmons, Anthony Azizi, and WWE Superstar Seth Rollins. I really don’t know what to think of this – could be bad, could be okay. Take a look. ›››

  • Full Trailer for Adam Wingard's Adaptation of 'Death Note' for Netflix

Full Trailer for Adam Wingard's Adaptation of 'Death Note' for Netflix

    Death Note

“Shall we begin?” Netflix has unveiled the full-length trailer (+ a filmmaker featurette) for Adam Wingard’s adaptation of Death Note, based on the very popular Japanese manga/anime series. Wingard is the director of the new Blair Witch as well as You’re Next, The Guest, and A Horrible Way to Die. Death Note stars Nat Wolff (seen in Paper Towns) as the teen who comes across a book that allows him to kill anyone without any risk of danger himself. But of course there’s a catch. Also starring Keith Stanfield, Shea Whigham, Margaret Qualley, Willem Dafoe and Masi Oka. This actually looks better than expected, I will be watching this. Plus, I’ll see anything with Keith Stanfield in it, he’s awesome and looks killer in this. ›››

  • Andy Serkis Directs Andrew Garfield & Claire Foy in 'Breathe' Trailer

Andy Serkis Directs Andrew Garfield & Claire Foy in 'Breathe' Trailer

    Breathe Trailer

“I don’t want to just survive, I want to truly live.” The first official trailer has debuted for the new film directed by Andy Serkis, titled Breathe, which will be premiering as the Opening Night Gala Film at the London Film Festival this fall. This is Serkis’ feature directorial debut and he has chosen to bring to life the powerful love story between Robin Cavendish and his wife Diana. Robin is played by Andrew Garfield, and his wife is played by Claire Foy. Robin was paralyzed at the age of 28 by polio, but their love kept him alive for years, fighting for the lives of other polio patients and continuing to travel and raise their son. Also starring Diana Rigg, Tom Hollander, and Hugh Bonneville. This looks like Garfield giving a paralyzed performance (like Eddie Redmayne) that will likely earn him another Oscar nomination. Worth watching. ›››
