    Justice League Trailer

“I need warriors.” Warner Bros has launched one final trailer, essentially another one-minute, extended TV spot, for the Justice League movie – which will be officially credited to Zack Snyder as director. This new spot also lets us hear the villain Steppenwolf speak. Justice League is the continuation of the Batman v Superman series in the DC Extended Universe, bringing together five super-powered beings: Ben Affleck as Batman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. The film’s extensive cast also includes Willem Dafoe, Jeremy Irons, Amber Heard, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. Tickets are on sale now via Fandango, and anyone who buys a ticket will get the opportunity to receive one of the posters seen below (only available to VIP ticket buyers) from their shop. • New Official Trailer for Hasraf 'HaZ' Dulull's Space Sci-Fi 'The Beyond'

New Official Trailer for Hasraf 'HaZ' Dulull's Space Sci-Fi 'The Beyond'

    The Beyond Trailer

“To find our place in the universe, we must venture beyond our boundaries.” Gravitas Ventures debuted this full trailer for the space sci-fi The Beyond, one of the first features from Hasraf ‘HaZ’ Dulull, who got his start making cool sci-fi short films on Vimeo. We featured a teaser trailer for this earlier in the year, but the film has undergone extensive reshoots and re-edits, and this new trailer is a better look at what HaZ has cooked up. The Beyond is a low-budget sci-fi somewhat based on the idea first introduced in his short Project Kronos – first contact. It’s about astronauts going through a wormhole (“The Void”) to another part of the universe, who return early, and now everyone wants to know what they found on the other side. The cast includes Nigel Barber, Jane Perry, Brian Deacon, and David Bailie. Sci-fi geeks need to see this. ›››

Third Trailer for David Ayer's Fantasy Action Film 'Bright' from Netflix

    Bright Movie Trailer

“We have to protect the wand!” Netflix has debuted another new trailer, officially the third one following a teaser and another full trailer, for David Ayer’s new fantasy action cop movie Bright. This Netflix Original production, starring Will Smith, is set in a world where other creatures like orcs and elves co-exist with humans. Joel Edgerton co-stars under the make-up as “Nick Jakoby”, who is assigned to him as his new partner. The cast includes Noomi Rapace, Kenneth Choi, Brad William Henke, Lucy Fry, Edgar Ramírez, Ike Barinholtz, Brandon Larracuente, and Dawn Olivieri. This trailer reveals some very cool fantasy elements that haven’t been shown in full before, and I’ve got to say, this still looks damn good. ›››

  • A Beach Town That Adores Horror – My Trip to the Sitges Film Festival

A Beach Town That Adores Horror – My Trip to the Sitges Film Festival

    Sitges Film Festival

There’s an adorable little beach town, about a half hour south of Barcelona, called Sitges. Every year, this town hosts a film festival in October called, of course, the Sitges Film Festival. Officially it’s known as the Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya (website here). Sitges is a “genre” festival, in the same vein as Fantastic Fest, screening horror, action, sci-fi, thrillers, and any other wacky, weird little features they find around the world. This year Sitges celebrated its 50th year, and for that reason I decided to finally attend this festival that I’ve been hearing about for a while. Oh my goodness, it’s amazing. One of the best festivals in the world, almost so good that I don’t want to tell you about it, because part of it what makes it perfect is that it isn’t overrun with people (yet). But, it is my job, so I will reveal a little bit about it. ›››

  • Full UK Trailer for 'The Man Who Invented Christmas' with Dan Stevens

Full UK Trailer for 'The Man Who Invented Christmas' with Dan Stevens

    The Man Who Invented Christmas

“How do you make a world come alive?” Thunderbird Releasing has launched the UK trailer for the new holiday drama titled The Man Who Invented Christmas, telling the story of Charles Dickens and the creation of the character Ebenezer Scrooge from A Christmas Carol. Dan Stevens stars as Dickens, and Christopher Plummer plays Scrooge, in this tale that mixes reality and imagination to tell us the story of how Dickens created this characters that would “forever change the holiday season into the celebration we know today.” Also starring Jonathan Pryce, Simon Callow, Donald Sumpter, Miriam Margolyes, Ian McNeice, Bill Paterson, and Justin Edwards. We already featured the first US trailer last month, and while this looks intriguing, I’m not too sure it’s going to become the next holiday classic. Watch below. ›››

  • Gerard Butler & 50 Cent in First Trailer for Crime Film 'Den of Thieves'

Gerard Butler & 50 Cent in First Trailer for Crime Film 'Den of Thieves'

    Den of Thieves Trailer

“You’re not the bad guys… we are.” Another new Heat wannabe movie. STX Entertainment has dropped the first trailer for an action crime thriller titled Den of Thieves, from writer/director Christian Gudegast. The movie is about a thief who gets trapped between two sides of a heist and two sets of “criminals” – an elite unit of the LA County Sheriff’s Dept. and the state’s most successful bank robbery crew. Gerard Butler stars, with 50 Cent, Pablo Schreiber, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sonya Balmores, Maurice Compte, Evan Jones, Brian Van Holt, Jordan Bridges, and Eric Braeden. This seems like it’s going to have quite a few big twists, and characters who don’t turn out to be who they seem to be (obviously enough). With Gerard Butler, 50 Cent, and a January release date, this is pretty much a disaster in the making. Have fun. ›››

  • First Brief Teaser for Don Hertzfeldt's 'World of Tomorrow Episode Two'

First Brief Teaser for Don Hertzfeldt's 'World of Tomorrow Episode Two'

World of Tomorrow Episode Two Teaser

Get ready! Acclaimed filmmaker Don Hertzfeldt is returning this year with another of his one-of-a-kind animated shorts called World of Tomorrow Episode Two (in full World of Tomorrow Episode Two: Burden of Other People’s Thoughts), the sequel to his highly successful World of Tomorrow from a few years ago. If you’ve never seen it, stop what you are doing and watch World of Tomorrow right now – it’s a brilliant “sci-fi” story based around the ramblings of Hertzfeldt’s five-year-old niece. This sequel once again uses recordings of his niece to tell the follow-up story of Emily, who is swept into the brain of an incomplete backup clone of her future self, on a mission to reboot her broken mind. The film premiered at Fantastic Fest to some seriously rave reviews, including a rare A+ from David Ehrlich at Indiewire. I really can’t wait to see this, I’m sure it’s going to be just as mesmerizing and profound as the first one. Get your first glimpse. ›››

  • Teaser Trailer for 'The Strange Ones' Starring James Freedson-Jackson

Teaser Trailer for 'The Strange Ones' Starring James Freedson-Jackson

    The Strange Ones Trailer

“Remember – it’s all in your head. It’s not real…” Vertical Entertainment has unveiled the first teaser trailer for an indie crime thriller titled The Strange Ones, from young directors Christopher Radcliff & Lauren Wolkstein, which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival earlier this year. The story follows two travelers as they make their way across a remote American landscape, with mysterious things happening. This stars Alex Pettyfer, James Freedson-Jackson, Emily Althaus, Tobias Campbell, Owen Campbell, and Gene Jones. The film won a Special Jury prize at SXSW for the Breakthrough Performance of James Freedson-Jackson. This looks like pretty much every other “strange America” film about people lost in the wilderness, getting into all kinds of trouble. I can’t even tell what this is about, but the trailer is cool at least. ›››

  • Second Trailer for Train Thriller 'The Commuter' Starring Liam Neeson

Second Trailer for Train Thriller 'The Commuter' Starring Liam Neeson

    The Commuter Trailer

“Most of us ride this train every day. We nod, we say hello, but how much do we really know about each other?” Lionsgate has debuted the second trailer for the action-thriller train movie starring Liam Neeson, titled The Commuter. From the same director of Non-Stop (the airplane movie) and The Shallows, this movie is basically Unstoppable (the train movie) meets Non-Stop (or even Source Code). Neeson plays an insurance salesman who gets mixed up in a criminal conspiracy on his daily train commute home. Vera Farmiga, a “mysterious stranger”, sits with him for a chat and things get very interesting. The cast includes Patrick Wilson, Killian Scott, Jonathan Banks, Sam Neill, Elizabeth McGovern, Florence Pugh, and Damson Idris. This looks like it has tons of action and will be intense to watch, I’m intrigued. Enjoy. ›››
