Official Trailer for Drama 'The Dancer' Starring Lily-Rose Depp & Soko

    The Dancer Trailer

“We’ll drag this place into the new century.” Palace Films has unveiled a new trailer from Australia for the release of the indie drama The Dancer, also known as La danseuse in French, a period set drama about a rivalry between two dancers. This originally premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, and is just getting a release in US theaters this December. Lily-Rose Depp stars as Isadora Duncan, the protégé and rival of dancer Loïe Fuller, played by French actress/musician Soko, the “toast of the Folies Bergères at the turn of the 20th century and an inspiration for Toulouse-Lautrec and the Lumière Brothers.” The full cast includes Gaspard Ulliel, Mélanie Thierry, François Damiens, Denis Ménochet, Amanda Plummer, and Louis-Do de Lencquesaing. This seems like a very passionate, intense, dance film to watch. Check it out. ›››

Another Trailer for That Ethan Hawke Action Movie '24 Hours to Live'

    24 Hours to Live Trailer

“These guys don’t play nice.” Get locked and loaded. Saban Films debuted another new official trailer for the adrenaline-fueled action indie movie 24 Hours to Live, yet another assassin story if you’re up for another one. Ethan Hawke stars as a career assassin who is given a chance at redemption after his employer brings him back to life temporarily after being killed on the job. This trailer is a bit more action heavy again, making this seem like some Taken meets Bourne meets Shoot ‘Em Up meets Crank movie. The rest of the main cast includes Xu Qing, Liam Cunningham, Rutger Hauer, and Paul Anderson. This is worth a watch just to see what it’s about, but damn it seems like a weird film with angry Hawke. Have fun. ›››

New US Trailer for 'Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool' with Bening & Bell

Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool Trailer

“Tell me how I look?” “You look beautiful.” Sony Pictures Classics has debuted the new official US trailer for the festival favorite Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool, which has played at the Telluride, Toronto and London Film Festivals to some great reviews. The film tells the story of Academy Award-winning actress Gloria Grahame, as played by the ever-so-talented Annette Bening. It mainly focuses on her passionate romance with a much younger movie star named Peter Turner, as played by Jamie Bell, and it’s based on Turner’s actual memoir. The full cast includes Julie Walters, Vanessa Redgrave, Kenneth Cranham, Stephen Graham, and Frances Barber. Grahame starred in The Big Heat, It’s a Wonderful Life, In a Lonely Place, and Oklahoma!, and won the Oscar for her role in The Bad and the Beautiful. This still looks great, worth a watch this fall. Bening and Bell leading the way with outstanding performances. Take a look. ›››

  • Sneak Preview Trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson's 'Phantom Thread'

Sneak Preview Trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson's 'Phantom Thread'

    Phantom Thread Sneak Preview

“Reynolds has made my dream come true…” Hold on! The year isn’t over yet! There’s still a few contenders waiting to premiere. Focus Features has debuted a new “sneak preview” trailer Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film, Phantom Thread, featuring details on sneak preview screenings happening in New York and L.A. Don’t forget, PTA ran this kind of preview for The Master a few years ago as well. This is supposedly the final film for acclaimed actor Daniel Day-Lewis, who is retiring from acting (for now). Set in the 1950s in London, the sensual story is about renowned dressmaker named Reynolds Woodcock, as played by Day-Lewis, whose “carefully tailored life” is disrupted by love – as you can watch in this new trailer. The cast includes Lesley Manville, Vicky Krieps, Camilla Rutherford, and Jane Perry. The movie “paints an illuminating portrait both of an artist on a creative journey, and the women who keep his world running.” This looks fantastic, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from PTA – right? Can’t wait to see the film myself. ›››

    A Wrinkle in Time Trailer

“Be a warrior.” Whoa! Disney has launched the second official trailer for Ava DuVernary’s adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time, based on the novel by Madeleine L’Engle, and it’s quite epic. This trailer is packed full of some crazy awesome sci-fi footage, this you need to see. The sci-fi fantasy story follows three people – Meg, her brother, and her friend – who are sent into space by three peculiar beings in order to search and find their missing scientist father. The very impressive ensemble cast for this film features Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, Zach Galifianakis, Oprah Winfrey, Bellamy Young, Mindy Kaling, Rowan Blanchard, Levi Miller, André Holland, Daniel MacPherson, Will McCormack, Deric McCabe, plus with Storm Reid as Meg. This looks great! I’m very excited to see it. ›››

  • First Teaser Trailer for Pixar's Long-Awaited Sequel 'The Incredibles 2'

First Teaser Trailer for Pixar's Long-Awaited Sequel 'The Incredibles 2'

    The Incredibles 2 Teaser Trailer

“You have powers!” Disney has released the very first teaser trailer for Pixar’s The Incredibles 2, or now titled simply Incredibles 2 (drop the “the”). This teaser isn’t that much, but it is officially something, since we’ve all been (im)patiently waiting 13 years for them to make this sequel. Brad Bird directs once again, and the plot synopsis released by Disney only states that it’s about Bob navigating “the day-to-day heroics of ‘normal’ life”, allowing him time to bond with Jack-Jack, “whose superpowers are emerging—much to Dad’s surprise.” Which is pretty much what this trailer shows. Craig T. Nelson is back as the voice of Bob, with Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sarah Vowell. I’m excited to see some actual footage and find out what this sequel is going to really be about, because I’m intrigued after waiting all these years already. ›››

More Monster Humor: 'Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation' Trailer

    Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation

“If anyone needs a vacation… it’s Drac!” Sony has unveiled the first trailer for the animated sequel Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, again directed by the animation mastermind Genndy Tartakovsky. By now you should know what to expect with this series, considering we’re about to see the third one next year. Hotel Transylvania 3 brings back the “Drac Pack” and his family/squad, this time going on a summer vacation cruise. Apparently he falls for the “intriguing-yet-dangerous” captain of the ship, causing problems of course. This once again featuring the voices of Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, and Genndy Tartakovsky. I’m a fan of Tartakovsky so I want to be into these, but I don’t think I’ve watched any, and I don’t know if I want to watch them. Something just tells me no, not for me. But – enjoy it anyway. ›››

First Trailer for Goofy Break-In Comedy Film 'A Bad Idea Gone Wrong'

    A Bad Idea Gone Wrong

“Who are these people trying to protect themselves from?” Freestyle Digital Media has debuted the first trailer for the indie comedy A Bad Idea Gone Wrong, a goofy film about two wanna-be thieves who trap themselves in a house they just broke into. Yeah, it’s pretty much one of those why-not, let’s-try-it concepts that kind of works, but also kind of doesn’t. This played at a few festivals this year to quite a bit of acclaim, like winning the Best Feature prize at the dead CENTER Film Festival. The cast of A Bad Idea Gone Wrong includes Matt Jones, Will Rogers, Eleanore Pienta, Sam Eidson, and Jonny Mars. This looks a bit odd, there’s something weird about the trailer that doesn’t feel quite right to me. But I do think this seems like the film would be worth seeing at a festival. There’s something quirky about it that’s appealing enough. ›››

  • First Trailer for Live-Action 'Rampage' Movie Starring Dwayne Johnson

First Trailer for Live-Action 'Rampage' Movie Starring Dwayne Johnson

    Rampage Movie Trailer

“Oh, what, you didn’t know about the 30 foot wolf?” Warner Bros has launched the first official trailer for Rampage, the live-action version of the classic 1980s video game about apes and monsters destroying city buildings. Yeah, they actually went and made this. Can you believe it?! Rampage the movie, get out of town! From the director of San Andreas and Incarnate, Rampage follows a primatologist named Davis Okoye, played by Dwayne Johnson, who shares a bond with the big white ape George. Suddenly something weird causes him to start growing in size fast. The full cast includes Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman, Joe Manganiello, Naomie Harris, Marley Shelton, Jake Lacy, Breanne Hill, Jack Quaid, Joey Thurmond, and P.J. Byrne. You shouldn’t be surprised to hear that this looks fun, but it also looks like CGI mania. Yes, there is building smashing. I prefer this Dwayne Johnson over the one in Jumanji any day. ›››

Horror Spin-Off – First Teaser Trailer for 'The Strangers: Prey at Night'

The Strangers: Prey at Night Teaser

“Leave us alone!” “But we’ve just started…” Aviron Pictures has launched the first teaser trailer for a new horror spin-off titled The Strangers: Prey at Night. Instead of actually making a sequel to cult horror hit The Strangers (directed by Bryan Bertino in 2008), they went off and decided to make an “inspired by” film. This one follows a family staying in a secluded mobile home park for a night, who are visited by three masked psychopaths. So the same masked weirdos are back, but a different time/place. The cast includes Christina Hendricks, Martin Henderson, Bailee Madison, & Lewis Pullman. This really does look creepy with a few very scary moments, just not sure if it will bring anything new to the horror/slasher table. ›››
