    Most Likely to Murder Trailer

“Ohhhh okay, right! You’re the worst.” Studio L has released the first trailer for an indie comedy film titled Most Likely to Murder, which is premiering at the 2018 SXSW Film Festival this month. It stars Adam Pally as Billy, the “coolest kid in high school”, who comes back to his hometown 15 years later to find he’s no longer cool and the girl he still has feelings for now dates the former town outcast. He becomes obsessed with proving that her new boyfriend is actually a murderer. The full cast includes Rachel Bloom, Vincent Kartheiser, Doug Mand, and John Reynolds. I’d love it if the twist in these kind of films is actually oh wait, he really is a murderer! Instead of something else. You never know? This does look fun. Catch it below. ›››

    Full-Length Trailer for Benson/Moorhead's Mind-Bender 'The Endless'

    The Endless Movie Trailer

“If you let it control you, it’s gonna control you over and over again.” Well Go USA has released a new full-length trailer for the film The Endless, the latest from Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead, the duo behind the cult favorite horror film Spring from 2014. The Endless is a film about two brothers, played by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead themselves, who return to the cult they fled from years ago to discover that the group’s beliefs may be more sane than they once thought. There’s some crazy cool twists in this that you just have to see to believe. The full cast includes Callie Hernandez, James Jordan, Lew Temple, Tate Ellington, Emily Montague, and Peter Cilella. Jeremy loved this film and wrote a glowing review, and I caught up with it in Sitges, and it’s a one-of-kind mind-bender that I highly recommend seeing for yourself. ›››

  • Berlinale 2018: My 8 Favorite Films from the 68th Berlin Film Festival

Berlinale 2018: My 8 Favorite Films from the 68th Berlin Film Festival

    Berlin Film Festival

Another year at the Berlin Film Festival, another set of invigorating discoveries. Every time I attend fests in Europe, I discover exceptional films and documentaries that have barely been mentioned in America yet. I feel like this is a chance for me to bring attention to these films, in hopes others will discover them and be moved, or influenced, or inspired. Great films are deeply emotional and affecting for good reason, because cinema is more than just entertainment. And these films prove that. This year, I fell for a doc about tennis, and a doc about a musician. I also flipped for an Austrian coming-of-age drama, and I can’t stop thinking about two very upsetting films – one about a terrible shooting in Norway, the other about a journalist falling in love with an ISIS recruiter over the internet. These are my 8 favorite films from Berlinale 2018 below. ›››

Official Trailer for HBO's Two-Part Doc on 'Elvis Presley: The Searcher'

    Elvis Presley: The Searcher Trailer

“He’s actually pretending, when he’s home, to be normal. When he goes out on stage at night is who he actually is.” HBO has unveiled the trailer for a two-part documentary about the late, great musician Elvis Presley titled Elvis Presley: The Searcher. The films run in total three hours, covering his entire life and career, giving audiences a very intimate inside look at the man, the myth, the legend. The documentary include stunning atmospheric shots taken inside Graceland, Elvis’ iconic home, and feature more than 20 new, primary source interviews with session players, producers, engineers, directors and other artists who knew him or who were profoundly influenced by him. The official soundtrack will also be released on April 6th, and is available for pre-order now from here. This seems like a nice compliment to the other Elvis doc The King from Eugene Jarecki, which is a different look at America. If you’re an Elvis fan, then dive right in. ›››

  • Jessie Buckley in Official UK Trailer for Psychological Mystery 'Beast'

Jessie Buckley in Official UK Trailer for Psychological Mystery 'Beast'

    Beast Trailer

“Maybe I’ve been to soft on you.” Film4 has unveiled an official trailer for the psychological mystery-thriller film titled Beast, which has been playing at major film festivals including Toronto, London, and Sundance this year. The title Beast is a reference to a true-life notorious criminal case known as “the Beast of Jersey”, which is why the title of the French poster below is Jersey Affair. Jessie Buckley plays a troubled woman living in an isolated community, who finds herself pulled between the control of her oppressive family and the allure of a secretive outsider suspected of a series of brutal murders. Johnny Flynn stars as the creepy guy, and Geraldine James as her mother, with a full cast including Charley Palmer Rothwell, Hattie Gotobed, Shannon Tarbet, Trystan Gravelle, Emily Taaffe, Olwen Fouere, and Tim Woodward. Based on the buzz, this is definitely a film you should see without knowing anything about it before going in. ›››

  • Second Trailer for 'Chappaquiddick' with Jason Clarke as Ted Kennedy

Second Trailer for 'Chappaquiddick' with Jason Clarke as Ted Kennedy

    Chappaquiddick Trailer

“What the hell happened last night?!” Entertainment Studios has debuted a second trailer for the film titled Chappaquiddick, referencing the Chappaquiddick Island in Massachusetts and the accident that occurred there in July of 1969 involving the Kennedy family. Chappaquiddick stars Jason Clarke as politician Ted Kennedy, whose political career became derailed in the aftermath of a fatal car accident that claimed the life of a young campaign strategist, Mary Jo Kopechne, as played by Kate Mara. Find out the truth in this film. The cast includes Clancy Brown, Ed Helms, Bruce Dern, Jim Gaffigan, Andria Blackman, Olivia Thirlby, and Taylor Nichols. This played at the Toronto Film Festival last year to mostly positive reviews, and seems like it’s worth a watch. I’m curious how the politics of this story relate to today’s political climate. ›››

  • Official Trailer for Alien Horror 'Caught' Directed by Jamie Patterson

Official Trailer for Alien Horror 'Caught' Directed by Jamie Patterson

    Caught Trailer

“We never said we would leave.” Cinedigm has released a trailer for a freaky horror film titled Caught, from director Jamie Patterson. The film about alien visitors was shot in East Sussex, UK where aliens were sighted in 1967. While on an afternoon walk, two small-town reporters notice a military camp going up on a hilltop. Trying to figure out the truth, they answer their door when two unusual strangers come knocking and find themselves held hostage in their own home. Caught stars Mickey Sumner, Cian Barry, April Pearson, Ruben Crow, Dave Mounfield, and Aaron Davis. This feels like a pretty cool throwback to “Twilight Zone”, where the aliens look like regular people, though there’s something very strange. Check it. ›››

  • First Full Trailer for Andrew Niccol's Sci-Fi Technology Thriller 'Anon'

First Full Trailer for Andrew Niccol's Sci-Fi Technology Thriller 'Anon'

    Anon Trailer

“Anonymity is the enemy.” A trailer has launched from Greece for the new sci-fi film Anon, the latest from one of my favorite sci-fi filmmakers – Andrew Niccol, who last made The Host and Good Kill. The film is about a near-future where there is no privacy or anonymity, where even private memories are recorded in an effort to cut down on crime. Clive Owen plays a cop investigating a series of unsolved murders, who meets a hacker woman known as “The Girl”, played by Amanda Seyfried. She has no identity, no history and no record. What he learns from her changes everything. Also starring Colm Feore, Sonya Walger, Mark O’Brien, Joe Pingue, Iddo Goldberg, and Sebastian Pigott. Why does Seyfried look so like anyone but herself? This seems to be a slick sci-fi neo-noir. I’m always curious about Niccol’s films, will be watching it. ›››

Teaser Trailer for Disney's 'Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2'

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2

“And we are online…!” Disney has released the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated animated sequel Wreck-It Ralph 2, titled in full Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, the latest from Disney Animation in Burbank. John C. Reilly returns as the voice of Ralph, the “bad guy” who is really a good guy, from the first Wreck-It Ralph released in 2012. This time he follows Vanellope, voiced again by Sarah Silverman, into the internet and there they meet the “netizens”, getting in all kinds of trouble and, as the title says, they wind up breaking the internet. The full cast features Taraji P. Henson, Kelly Macdonald, Kristen Bell, Mandy Moore, Alan Tudyk, Jane Lynch, Idina Menzel, Jack McBrayer, and Jodi Benson, with rumors that a bunch of classic Disney characters might show up as cameos as well. This is just a teaser, but it’s a nice re-introduction to Wreck-It Ralph and the web he’s stuck in this time. Have fun. ›››

  • Final Red Band US Trailer for Armando Iannucci's 'The Death of Stalin'

Final Red Band US Trailer for Armando Iannucci's 'The Death of Stalin'

    The Death of Stalin Trailer

“No man, no problem.” IFC Films released one last red band trailer for the US release of The Death of Stalin, satirist Armando Iannucci’s latest film about Russian politics. We’ve seen plenty of trailers for this already, for the UK release and the US release too, but one more can’t hurt. Based on Fabien Nury’s graphic novel, the film is about Russian dictator Joseph Stalin’s last days and the disorganized chaos of the regime after his death in 1953 and 30 years of iron-fisted rule. Adrian McLoughlin plays Stalin, with an amazing ensemble: Rupert Friend, Steve Buscemi, Olga Kurylenko, Jason Isaacs, Andrea Riseborough, Jeffrey Tambor, Paddy Considine, Michael Palin, and Jonathan Aris. This most recently played at the Sundance Film Festival as well. If you enjoy Iannucci’s dry political humor, this film is definitely for you. ›››
