  • What's New And Leaving Hulu In July 2017

We’ve bumped this story up now that it’s July 1.

Hulu has announced all the new arrivals coming next month, and Star Trek fans are in for a treat. Tons of classic Star Trek movies are hitting the streaming service, from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan all the way to Star Trek VII: First Contact.

Of course, if some (action-packed) history is more your thing, Mel Gibson’s Braveheart is on its way starting July 1, and the animated feature film Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will also hit Hulu on the same day. For something a little lighter, you can relive the 90s with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, all on Hulu on the first of the month.

Of course, some films are leaving too. It’s your last chance to catch a few classic comedies, like Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Coming to America, and The Addams Family. Check out the full list of what’s coming and what’s leaving Hulu below.

  • Street Fighter EX Dev Will Show Off New Game At EVO 2017

Arika is best known for the Street Fighter EX series, but in recent years the studio has worked less on fighting games and more on puzzle and adventure titles. Today, however, it was revealed that Arika will show off its new project at EVO 2017, the big fighting game tournament.

Tournament organizer Joel Cuellar announced the news on Twitter, stating that the studio was bringing the game in a playable form. He provided no specifics about the title, but considering that it’s coming to EVO, it’s a safe bet that it’ll be a fighting game.

Back on April Fool’s Day, Arika shared a trailer of what many people initially thought was a joke, which you can watch above. The studio published a trailer showing an early prototype of a game that featured many characters from Street Fighter EX. Later on, it turned out that this was actually a real, playable prototype. “The fact that we hid that this was going to be the game played is the joke,” a translated note from Arika said. There’s no word yet on whether or not this will be the game shown at EVO.

The tournament takes place from July 14-16 in Las Vegas, and it showcases competitions between the best fighting game players in the world.

Sony has revealed this week’s European deal of the week on the PlayStation Store. For one week only, you can grab Ubisoft’s open-world RPG The Division on PS4 for £15 / €18. The Division launched in 2016, and it has since received three major expansions: Last Stand, Survival, and Underground. All three are included in the season pass (and Gold Edition). A second season of DLC is on the way this year, though all that content will be free.

Elsewhere in the blog post, Ys Net says it will attend Gamescom 2017 in Germany, where it will “show [its] newest movie clips, share the latest updates, and even make some new announcements.”

In a recent development update, series creator Yu Suzuki announced that Shenmue 3 had been delayed until 2018. The game previously had a tentative December 2017 release window, but in an update to Kickstarter backers, Suzuki said more time is needed to fully realise his vision.

“By utilizing new technologies we have been able to discover new possibilities and expressions,” he explained. “In many ways the game has become bigger and more beautiful than I initially expected. We do, however, need more time to deliver the game to you.

“In order to achieve the game concept you supported, and my sixteen-year-long personal dream, we have revised the development schedule. We are moving ahead with a plan to release the game in the second half of 2018.”

Shenmue 3 was a surprise announcement at E3 2015 and made its debut at the PlayStation press conference. A successful Kickstarter campaign immediately followed the game’s reveal, raising more than $6.3 million.

“Triumph Studios is a developer of our own heart,” Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester said in a statement. “They are world-leading within their niche and have built a large and dedicated community over the years, counting quite a few Paradox employees among their hardcore fans. We have great faith in Lennart, Arno, and the Triumph team, and our main focus now is to ensure that they can continue to create their magic under new ownership.”

Sas said in hus own statement that Triumph has been approached by others, but the company declined all offers until now because, with Paradox, it’s “not merely a business transaction.” Instead, it’s something grander.

“This is a liaison with a partner that can help us grow sustainably by ensuring the stability and continuity needed for us to do more of what we do best–develop some of the best turn-based strategy games on the market today,” Sas said. “Paradox is a good match for us both culturally and games-wise. They get it. It’s as simple as that, and we are extremely excited about the acquisition.”

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
