New Trailer for Sleek French Cyberpunk Indie Film 'Virtual Revolution'

    Virtual Revolution Trailer

“The Revolution did happen. Just not the way they thought it would.” A trailer has arrived online for a French cyberpunk sci-fi film titled Virtual Revolution, an indie project from Guy-Roger Duvert – who also composed the score for this. Set in Paris in 2047, the story is about a “shadow agent” named Nash, played by Mike Dopud, who spends half his time in the VR world and half in the real world as a private investigator. He’s hired by one of the multinational companies behind these virtual worlds to track down terrorists who threaten the system. This definitely has a very low budget feel, but it looks impressive and there seems to be some cool ideas in it. Not sure if it’s any good, but they got my attention with this trailer. ›››

One Final Trailer for Kurzel's 'Assassin's Creed' is Packed with Action

    Assassin's Creed Trailer

“You’re about to enter the Animus.” Fox has debuted one final trailer for Assassin’s Creed, from director Justin Kurzel, arriving in theaters Christmas week. We’ve already seen plenty of trailers and featurettes for this, but this last one might just be the best yet. No really, it’s fantastic. Michael Fassbender plays Callum Lynch, an imprisoned man who is forced into an experimental sci-fi program that allows him to go back in time as his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. The story is actually about the Assassins vs the Templars, who have “been at war for centuries.” The full cast includes Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, Brendan Gleeson, Michael Kenneth Williams, Callum Turner; plus Ariane Labed. Dive in below. ›››

Official Trailer for Matt Reeves' Sequel 'War for the Planet of the Apes'

War for the Planet of the Apes Trailer

“All of human history has lead to this moment.” 20th Century Fox has debuted the first official trailer for Matt Reeves’ next sequel in the Apes franchise, this one titled War for the Planet of the Apes. After the tensions kept building in the first two movies, this time it’s an all out war between humans and apes. Andy Serkis returns to play Caesar, and the cast includes Woody Harrelson as his adversary, the Colonel. Also starring Judy Greer as Cornelia, Max Lloyd-Jones as Blue Eyes, plus Steve Zahn, Chad Rook, Ty Olsson, Aleks Paunovic and Sara Canning. Everything about this looks awesome – I love the poster, I love how epic and gnarly this looks, I so can’t wait to see it. This new Apes series keeps getting even better. ›››

First Official Trailers for 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' with Tom Holland

    Spider-Man: Homecoming Trailer

“Stay close to the ground. And stay out of trouble.” Sony has revealed the first official trailer for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming, directed by Jon Watts, produced by Marvel Studios. Tom Holland stars as (the new) Peter Parker, who was first introduced in Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War this summer with a small role near the end of the movie. The full cast includes Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Michael Keaton as the villain The Vulture, plus Donald Glover, Robert Downey Jr., Martin Starr, Logan Marshall-Green, Angourie Rice, Hannibal Buress, and Zendaya. This does look much better than the last few Spidey movies, but I’m remaining cautiously optimistic for now. Enjoy! ›››

  • Paramount Sets a Mystery IMAX 'Cloverfield Movie' for October 2017

Paramount Sets a Mystery IMAX 'Cloverfield Movie' for October 2017

    Cloverfield Movie

Paramount is hiding something. According to various sources, Paramount has scheduled a new Cloverfield movie to open in theaters on October 27th, 2017. The only information available is that the project is currently titled Cloverfield Movie (IMAX), meaning it will be opening on IMAX screens next Halloween weekend. As for what exactly it is? We’re not sure. Some are saying this is the new title/new release date for God Particle, an original sci-fi movie produced by Bad Robot that was revealed earlier this year to be the follow-up to 10 Cloverfield Lane. Others are speculating that perhaps Paramount has some tricks up their sleeves, and is delaying the release of God Particle for the time being. We have to wait to find out the truth. ›››

Watch: Lovely Animated Short 'The Fisherman' from Luke Saunders

    The Fisherman Short Film

What a beautiful animated short film. The Fisherman is a short created and animated by Luke Saunders, featuring a very unique visual style telling a heartfelt story about family and remembering our loved ones. The brief description of the film explains that “a series of serendipitous events lead to a chance encounter and the fulfilling of an old man’s last earthly desire.” This is one of those out-of-nowhere fantastic short films that I encourage everyone to just stop and watch without reading too much about it beforehand, as the simplicity of it makes it more impactful in the end. I also just love the animation style and music, I want to see more shorts made like this. Thanks to the sci-fi network Dust for premiering this. Watch it in full below. ›››

Watch: Full Trailer for Doug Liman's Iraq War Sniper Thriller 'The Wall'

    The Wall Trailer

“Something’s not right…” Amazon Studios & Roadside Attractions have released the first official trailer for an action thriller titled The Wall, directed by Doug Liman (known for The Bourne Identity, Go, Edge of Tomorrow). The film stars Aaron Taylor Johnson and John Cena as a pair of soldiers pinned down near a wall by an Iraqi sniper. It’s an intriguing contained thriller set almost entirely in one place, as the two must figure out how to escape and survive. The film also stars Laith Nakli. If this wasn’t directed by Doug Liman, I might not be as interested but Liman is a talented action director, and knows how to create tension in his films. This looks impressive, the radio angle mixes things up even more, I’m curious about seeing it. ›››

Official Trailer for Emily Hagins' 'Coin Heist' Film Coming to Netflix

    Coin Heist Trailer

“You realize if this doesn’t go perfectly, we are all going to jail.” Netflix has debuted a trailer for the film Coin Heist, the latest little indie from young filmmaker Emily Hagins out of Austin. We’ve featured her work before, including her most recent film before this, titled Grow Up Tony Phillips. Coin Heist is indeed about a “coin heist” – four different high school kids decide to team up and figure out a way to break into the U.S. Mint and pay off a big debt by planting flawed coins. The cast includes Alex Saxon, Alexis G. Zall, Sasha Pieterse, Jay Walker, Blanche Baker, David W. Thompson and Elijah Boothe. This looks like it might be fun, and I always like supporting talented young filmmakers like Emily. Give it a look below. ›››

Watch: Zack Snyder's Fun 'Star Wars' + 'Batman v Superman' Mashup

Star Wars & Batman v Superman Mashup

“There is a great disturbance in the Force…” What if Batman and Superman fought with lightsabers? What if the DC universe had Jedi? What if Jabba the Hut was Superman’s ultimate villain? This is just a fun trailer made by a fan, and we’ll never see this crossover in real life, but it’s worth a quick watch anyway. According to TrailerTrack, this mashup was made by Zack Snyder (or at least posted by him on one of his own social media accounts) and includes a title card at the end stating: Dark Side Knight v SuperJedi: Dawn of the Alliance. This trailer isn’t perfect, but is an amusing mashup of the two universes. Check it out below. ›››

David Oyelowo & Rosamund Pike in US Trailer for 'A United Kingdom'

    A United Kingdom Trailer

“I will never achieve anything worthwhile if I leave my heart here…” Fox Searchlight has debuted a new official US trailer for the romantic drama A United Kingdom, which premiered to positive reviews out of TIFF a few months ago. The film tells the true story of Seretse Khama, the king of Bechuanaland (modern Botswana), and Ruth Williams, the London office worker he married in 1948 in the face of fierce opposition from their families and their governments. David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike star as the couple. The cast also includes Tom Felton, Laura Carmichael, Jack Davenport, Charlotte Hope, and Jessica Oyelowo. This film, along with Jeff Nichols’ Loving, are two films that show the power of love and how it transcends race and class and other barriers of society. I’m still looking forward to catching this film myself. ›››
