Second Trailer for Shymalan's 'Glass' Starring Willis, McAvoy, Jackson

    Glass Trailer

“I am here to see if tales of the extraordinary being are true.” Universal has debuted a second trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass, the highly anticipated sequel to Shyamalan’s Split from 2016, which turned out to be a secret sequel to Unbreakable. The first trailer dropped at Comic-Con and this one is even better. Glass combines all three and brings back all of the characters: James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, a serial killer with 24 unique personalities; Bruce Willis as the “unbreakable” David Dunn; and Samuel L. Jackson as the frail evil villain Elijah Price, aka Mr. Glass. The cast also includes Sarah Paulson as their psychiatrist, with Anya Taylor-Joy, Spencer Treat Clark, Luke Kirby, Charlayne Woodard, & Rob Yang. This is looking so damn good. I’m very impressed and excited by what we’re seeing so far. Can’t wait. ›››

  • Asa Butterfield in Official Trailer for Time Travel Romance 'Time Freak'

Asa Butterfield in Official Trailer for Time Travel Romance 'Time Freak'

    Time Freak Trailer

“I have created what every broken heart wants: a second chance.” Lionsgate has debuted the first official trailer for a time travel romantic comedy titled Time Freak, a full-length feature film version of Andrew Bowler’s Oscar nominated short film of the same name from a few years ago. The romantic comedy is about a kid who invents his own time machine to try to travel back in time and save his relationship. As expected, things go wrong. Asa Butterfield stars, with Sophie Turner, Skyler Gisondo, Will Peltz, and Aubrey Reynolds. As much as I enjoy time travel films, this has been done so many times before. When will we learn that you can’t go back in time and fix a relationship or make things go differently? It never works! And yet they keep making movies that ask and answer this question over and over, with the same result. Oh well. ›››

Official US Trailer for Documentary 'Searching for Ingmar Bergman'

    Searching for Ingmar Bergman Trailer

“Isn’t art always, to a certain extent, therapy for the artist?” Oscilloscope Labs has debuted an official US trailer for the cinema documentary Searching for Ingmar Bergman, which first premiered as a Cannes Classic at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. The documentary celebrates Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman’s 100th birthday, by taking an extensive and fascinating look at his life and creative inspiration. The doc presents key scenes and recurring themes in his films and his life, and journeys to the places at the center of Bergman’s creative achievement and the focal points of his life such as the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, locations and landscapes from his masterpieces, and his stations in Sweden, Germany, Spain, and France. This looks like a profound, entrancing, wonderful tribute to the life of a true master filmmaker. ›››

“Do you think she’s alive…?” The Orchard has debuted the official US trailer for an Australian thriller titled Rabbit, which premiered and played at numerous genre film festivals in October of last year. The film is about a young woman from Adelaide who decides to return to her home town after vivid dreams she keeps having about her missing sister. Certain she now knows the whereabouts of her missing twin, she follows the clues to a derelict caravan park. Adelaide Clemens stars as both Maude & Cleo, along with Alex Russell, Veerle Baetens, Jonny Pasvolsky, Lauren Koopowitz, Charlotte Munns, & Charles Mayer. Yeah, this film looks like it gets super unsettling, super fast, despite a clean and bright start. Check this out below. ›››

  • Sitges Review: 'The Spy Gone North' is a Gripping Korean Spy Thriller

Sitges Review: 'The Spy Gone North' is a Gripping Korean Spy Thriller

    The Spy Gone North Review

Not all spy movies are like every other spy movie. And not all spies are the same. The Spy Gone North is an impressive, riveting spy thriller from Korea, made by filmmaker Yoon Jong-bin (of The Unforgiven, Beastie Boys, Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time, Kundo: Age of the Rampant). This first premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in their Midnight category earlier this summer, but I just caught up with the film at the Sitges Film Festival. The more I think about, the more I love this film. It’s such a slick, superb spy film that draws you into the story and keeps you intrigued with anticipation, on the edge of your seat the entire time. And there isn’t much action, which works well for this fascinating story, yet it’s thoroughly compelling from start to finish. This film really stands out above so many others – in the way of spy films and thrillers. ›››

  • One Final UK Trailer for 'Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2'

One Final UK Trailer for 'Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2'

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 Trailer

“It is new, it is different, and therefore we should fear it.” A-ha that’s a good one. Disney has debuted a final international (UK) trailer for the animated sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, to top off the third trailer we posted a few weeks ago. John C. Reilly returns as the voice of Ralph, the “bad guy” who is really a good guy, from the first Wreck-It Ralph movie released in 2012. This time he follows Vanellope, voiced again by Sarah Silverman, into the internet and there they meet the “netizens”, getting in all kinds of trouble looking for a part they need to repair Vanellope’s game in the arcade. The voice cast also features Taraji P. Henson, Kelly Macdonald, Kristen Bell, Mandy Moore, Alan Tudyk, Jane Lynch, Idina Menzel, Jack McBrayer, Jodi Benson, as well as Gal Gadot (who doesn’t get any time in this trailer). I’m already completely sold on this movie, it’s looking like another stand out sequel this year. ›››

New UK Trailer for Zombie Musical Comedy 'Anna and the Apocalypse'

    Anna and the Apocalypse Trailer

“Yeah – certain death is so much fun!” Vertigo Releasing in the UK has revealed a brand new, official UK trailer for the horror comedy Anna and the Apocalypse, which is really an enjoyable zombie Christmas musical. This trailer is much better than the US one, capturing the crazy fun aspects of this movie. A girl and her friends must fight – and sing – their way through a zombie invasion to reach the supposed safety of their school, not knowing if their parents and friends are still alive. There’s a bunch of original songs in this, a few you can hear in this trailer. Starring Ella Hunt as Anna, along with Malcolm Cumming, Sarah Swire, Christopher Leveaux, Ben Wiggins, Marli Siu, and Mark Benton. I first saw this at the Sitges Film Festival last year and wrote a great review. If you love musicals, if you love zombies, you have to catch this. ›››

  • Kurt Russell as Santa in Teaser for Netflix's 'The Christmas Chronicles'

Kurt Russell as Santa in Teaser for Netflix's 'The Christmas Chronicles'

    The Christmas Chronicles Trailer

“Wait till you see what happens next…!” Netflix has unveiled a teaser trailer for an upcoming holiday film titled The Christmas Chronicles, starring Kurt Russell (indeed, that awesome actor) as Santa Clause. The film tells the story of a sister and brother, Kate and Teddy Pierce, whose Christmas Eve plan to catch Santa Claus on camera turns into an unexpected journey that most kids could only dream about. “No one is better suited than Kurt Russell to bring our version of a rugged, charismatic, and hilarious Santa Claus to life,” director Clay Kaytis explains. The full cast includes Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Oliver Hudson, Judah Lewis, Lamorne Morris, Martin Roach, Darby Camp, and Lauren Collins. This teaser does actually have plenty of footage and this looks, uh, crazy. And weird. And magical. And funny. And hip. And weird, again. I don’t know – you have to see this for yourself. Maybe a brand new holiday classic on the way? ›››

  • Freaky First Trailer for Kölsch & Widmyer's 'Pet Sematary' Adaptation

Freaky First Trailer for Kölsch & Widmyer's 'Pet Sematary' Adaptation

    Pet Sematary Movie Trailer

“It was a myth… Kids used to dare each other to go into the woods at night.” Paramount has unveiled the first trailer for their new take on Stephen King’s Pet Sematary, which was already adapted once before in 1989. This new adaptation sticks close to the story in the book, about a family that moves to a rural home where they discover a “Pet Sematary” nearby. After the family cat is killed, they bury it in the Pet Sematary and then very weird things start to happen. Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz star, with John Lithgow, Alyssa Brooke Levine, Hugo Lavoie, Jeté Laurence, and Obssa Ahmed. I’m actually curious about this film. It doesn’t need to be remade, but maybe it will turn out good. And from this first look, it seems there is some promise for this fresh take on the freaky small town horror story. That cat is the scariest part. ›››

The Night Comes For Us Trailer

“Maybe… just maybe… I can change my fate.” Netflix has unleashed a badass official trailer for The Night Comes For Us, the new action film from Indonesian filmmaker Timo Tjahjanto (of Macabre, Killers, Headshot, May the Devil Take You, “Safe Haven” in V/H/S/2). This action extravaganza has been playing huge at genre festivals and it’s been earning rave reviews from everyone who has experienced it so far. The film is about a gangland enforcer named Ito, played by Joe Taslim, who decides to return home and leave the Tried but ends up in the most dangerous fight of his life. Co-starring Iko Uwais from The Raid, plus Julie Estelle, Sunny Pang, Zack Lee, Shareefa Daanish. I just saw this in Sitges and it’s awesome – the most insane, violent, jaw-dropping action film I’ve seen in a long time. Not much I’ve seen is this good. ›››
