Playerunknown Battlegrounds Dataminer Finds 54 Items Buried In Game Files

A dataminer has discovered a plethora of new items for Playerunknown Battlegrounds hidden within its files, and their findings are almost as peculiar as the battle royale game.

Fifty-four items ranging from new avatar garbs to weapons were uncovered by dataminer DevinWatson on Reddit. Some of the items are already available in game, like the hooded trenchcoat, but others are catching our eyes. Most notable, the poison apple, which is filed under grenades, and a futuristic spacesuit. But that’s not all we’re looking forward to. There are also some sweet leather jackets and shorts to suit every avatar’s summer look.

It should be noted, however, that none of these items are confirmed to be part of the game and might just be placeholders. We do know that PUBG is expecting some updates in the very near future to add player-controlled zombies, but we don’t know if these items will be released in tandem.

PUBG’s full release was scheduled to come out of early access this October, but was recently pushed back. Playerunknown, aka Brendan Greene, says that the game is still planned for a full launch on PC by the end of Q4 2017.

Check Out These Sick Destiny 2 Armor Designs

If you’re looking for your next great armor build, Destiny 2 might just be your answer. Just like what was done with Destiny, Bungie has created an art reference portal with artists and cosplayers in the community in mind.

Bungie’s community manager “Cozmo” says the reference portal was done by fan’s request after the announcement of the game in May. The portal, which can be found here, will be the future home to all of the game’s reference art, from armor to weapons and everything in-between.

    Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3

Right now, the portal only has armor references for the Titan, Hunter, and Warlock classes, which can be seen above. Each class has their own distinct colors and styles, and we’re loving the finer details of these “Parade Armor” designs. If you look closely enough, these armor sets can also bee seen in action in the recently released Destiny 2 beta trailer.

Destiny 2’s beta is only open to those who have pre-ordered the title and will include access to the game’s first mission “Homecoming,” new multiplayer mode Countdown, all three sub classes, and more. It begins July 18 on PS4 and Xbox One, and late August on PC.

For all things Destiny 2, be sure to check out our game hub to keep up with the latest news and features. Destiny 2 launches on September 6 on PS4 and Xbox One, and October 24 on PC.

  • Spider-Man: Homecoming: Who Is The Post-Credit Character?

Spider-Man: Homecoming: Who Is The Post-Credit Character?

Spider-Man: Homecoming is now in theaters, and if you haven’t heard, there are two post-credit sequences, which you can learn about here. Who was the unfamiliar character shown during the mid-credit scene, and what’s his history with Spider-Man? Continue reading as we break down who this iconic character is.

Warning: Spoilers for Spider-Man: Homecoming below.

The character in question was none other than Mac Gargan, better known as Scorpion. He’s someone important in Spider-Man’s history, and has an incredibly wild character arc.

    No Caption Provided

During the mid-credit sequence, Toomes is in prison, walking through the halls by the cells. when he is approached by another inmate. This is the same person we saw on the Staten Island Ferry–who got webbed to the back of the boat–earlier in the film. That inmate is Mac Gargan, but most people know him better by his supervillain name, Scorpion.

He first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #19 back in 1964 and was created by the legendary Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. During Gargan’s first appearance–shown above–he was assigned to follow and track Peter Parker. In issue #20, it was revealed that J Jonah Jameson hired him for the job; however, Jameson had a new mission for Gargan. He paid the tracker $10,000 to be in a science experiment that would turn the ordinary man into a super-powered being that could defeat Spider-Man. The experiment left Gargan with superhuman coordination and strength. In addition, he was given a costume with a tail that could be swung like a sledgehammer. The Scorpion was born.

Gargan received some additional powers because of the experiment. He has enhanced speed, endurance, and reflexes. In addition, his tail got a few upgrades throughout the years, like when he could spray acid out of it. He’s one of the few villains in Spider-Man’s rogue gallery that is more powerful than him in every way.

Scorpion bested Spider-Man during their first battle. However, instead of unmasking the webslinger–like he was ordered to by Jameson–Gargan decided to rob an armored truck, stealing the money inside. Eventually, Spider-Man caught up to Scorpion, beat him, and turned him into the police.

Gargan took on a new form in 2004 when the Venom symbiote left Eddie Brock and took on Gargan as its new host. This new Venom played a major role in a lot of storylines, which included joining The Thunderbolts and Norman Osborn’s Dark Avengers. After a few years, the symbiote was separated from Gargan during Siege. Gargan was imprisoned, only to later escape and return as Scorpion in a heavily armored suit.

If you want to learn more about Mac Gargan, check out these stories.

    • “The Last Stand”: Spider-Man takes on the Sinister Twelve, after Norman Osborn orchestrates Aunt May’s kidnapping. This is when Scorpion becomes Venom. The story takes place in Marvel Knights: Spider-Man #9-12.
    • Thunderbolts: Warren Ellis and Mike Deodato’s legendary run on this supervillain team book has Gargan, as Venom, working with some of Marvel’s baddest villains. You should check out Thunderbolts #110-121.
    • Dark Avengers: Gargan joins Norman Osborn’s new Avengers team, during some dark times in Marvel comics. The tail end of the arc features Gargan losing the Venom symbiote. For this story, check out Dark Avengers #1-16, leading into Siege #1-4.
    • “New Ways To Die”: Gargan, with the Venom symbiote, battles Eddie Brock, now called Anti-Venom. It takes place in Amazing Spider-Man #568-573.

    Europe's Top 20 Best-Selling PS4 Games For June 2017 Revealed

In addition to the US list of PSN’s top-20 best-selling PlayStation 4 games for June 2017, Sony has revealed last month’s top-selling PlayStation Store titles for Europe. While many of the same games appear across both charts, there are some notable differences in Europe’s list, including the No. 1 title.

The top two PSN games in the US swapped places on Europe’s chart; Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy took the No. 1 spot, while Friday the 13th landed at No. 2. As in the US, last month’s DLC chart was topped by Call of Duty: Black Ops III‘s Zombies Chronicles, with Diablo III‘s Rise of the Necromancer expansion following at No. 2. The rest of the list, however, is dramatically different. No. 3 was the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass, while its US counterpart, Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, did not make the chart at all.

FIFA 17 also took the top spot on PS3, while Killzone: Mercenary was the best-selling Vita game for June. You can find the full list of the month’s best-selling titles across all of Sony’s platforms on the PlayStation Blog, while the PS4 charts can be seen below.

  • Game Of Thrones Season 7's First Three Episodes Get Descriptions And Titles

Photographs and trailers for the upcoming season of Game of Thrones have provided us with some sense of what to expect–wars, dragons, Daenerys in Westeros, Littlefinger looking suspicious, and so on. We now have an even better idea of what’s to come from all three episodes of Season 7 airing in July.

HBO today issued a press release heralding the impending debut of Season 7. This includes descriptions and episode names for Episodes 1-3. As always, these are on the terse side, though they do give some sense of where characters are and allow us to speculate. That includes guessing who the “unexpected visitor” is that Daenerys encounters in Episode 2.

Here are all three episode breakdowns:

    Episode #61: Dragonstone

Jon (Kit Harington) organizes the defense of the North. Cersei (Lena Headey) tries to even the odds. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) comes home.

    • Debut: Sunday, July 16 (9-10 PM ET/PT)
    • Written by David Benioff & DB Weiss
    • Directed by Jeremy Podeswa

    Episode #62: Stormborn

Daenerys receives an unexpected visitor. Jon faces a revolt. Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) plans the conquest of Westeros.

    • Debut: Sunday, July 23 (9-10 PM)
    • Written by Bryan Cogman
    • Directed by Mark Mylod

    Episode #63: The Queen’s Justice

Daenerys holds court. Cersei returns a gift. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) learns from his mistakes.

    • Debut: Sunday, July 30 (9-10 PM)
    • Written by David Benioff & DB Weiss
    • Directed by Mark Mylod

These three episodes represent a larger-than-usual chunk of this season, which will consist of only seven episodes total. The eighth and final season will be even shorter in terms of episode count at six, though they may run longer. There’s no release date for Season 8 yet.

We know that urgency is a key point in this season and that we’ll be getting some reunions and first-time meetings. The pace is also increased, with things supposedly going “much quicker” than in the past. For some idea of what else to expect, check out our recap of seven convincing fan theories about Season 7.

  • EA/Origin Access Vault Adding More Games, Including Battlefield 1

EA/Origin Access Vault Adding More Games, Including Battlefield 1

Electronic Arts has shared some details regarding newly added content to the EA/Origin Access Vault, as well as some big-name games that are on the way to it in the next few months.

Beginning today, Access members can get their hands on all of the DLC for Star Wars Battlefront. The game itself was already free through EA Access, but now players on both Xbox One and PC will be able to enjoy the complete experience ahead of the sequel’s launch later this year.

    No Caption Provided

At some point between now and September, the EA and Origin Access Vaults will add Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2–two major releases from last fall. Origin Access members will also get their hands on The Sims 4: Digital Deluxe Edition, Oxenfree, and Rebel Galaxy. Launch dates were not announced, but additions to the Vault are typically permanent, so you’ll have plenty of time with the games once they’re added.

In terms of trials, FIFA 18 will be playable for EA and Origin Access members ahead of launch, while the former will also get Play First trials of Madden NFL 18, NHL 18, and NBA Live 18. Specific dates for any of these were not announced, but they’ll likely come in the week prior to their respective launches.

EA and Origin Access are subscription-based services for Xbox One and PC, respectively. They offer unlimited access to a library of games (see our full list for all the EA/Origin Access games), pre-release trials for many EA releases, and a 10% discount on digital EA purchases. They each cost $5 per month or $30 per year.

  • Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's Second DLC Shown In New Footage

New footage of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild‘s upcoming story DLC has been released, and more narrative details have been confirmed by series producer Eiji Aonuma.

The developer stated that you’ll still play as Link in the Champions’ Ballad expansion, but that you’ll learn more about Zelda along the way. Take a look at the new development footage below.

Mr Aonuma confirmed you’ll still play as Link in The Champions’ Ballad, but learn more about #Zelda along the way pic.twitter.com/DvRbvQuOeb

    — Nintendo of Europe (@NintendoEurope) July 7, 2017

Aonuma was speaking at a Zelda masterclass as part of Japan Expo in Paris, France. In addition to the story snippet, it was confirmed that Link’s lobster t-shirt from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker will return in The Champions’ Ballad, and another Zelda art book is on the way, focusing on Breath of the Wild. The two previous books in the series have focused on Hyrule’s history and The Legend of Zelda’s art, respectively.

We got our first look at The Champions’ Ballad at E3 this year. Nintendo says the expansion will add “new challenges that will let players enjoy a new dungeon and a new original story” when it launches in holiday 2017. The add-on is included in the $20 / £18 season pass, which also contains the recently-released Master Trails DLC pack.

Along with a harder difficulty mode (which uses its own separate save slots), The Master Trials introduces an assortment of new costumes such as the Tingle Outfit and Phantom Armor, a Travel Medallion that allows players to create a temporary quick-travel point, and a system that tracks the path you traveled around Hyrule.

The most significant addition, however, is the Trial of the Sword. Like the Cave of Ordeals from previous Zelda titles, this 45-room challenge tasks players will battling through a series of increasingly difficult encounters. You begin the Trial without any armor or equipment and can only fight using the weapons you acquire during the challenge. Completing the Trial of the Sword lets players wield the Master Sword in its fully powered-up state.

  • Bleach Live-Action Movie Teaser Offers First Look At Ichigo

A very short teaser has been released for the live-action adaptation of hit manga and anime series Bleach. The video shows actor Sota Fukushi as protagonist Kurosaki Ichigo and, although it’s quite dark, we get to see some of his trademark features.

Most notable among these is his orange hair, which doesn’t seem to be as luminescent as it is in the anime, and instead is a little more of a muted tone. Also on display is the giant sword he wields early on in the series.

It looks like the teaser is taken from a scene where Ichigo has just finished defeating a Hollow, as a large claw can be seen falling to the ground, seemingly severed from the rest of the monster. Check out the trailer above.

It’s unclear how much of the existing Bleach material the live-action movie will cover and, given that the anime encompasses over 300 episodes and the manga was published across 15 years, there’s plenty to work with. The teaser suggests at least some of it will take place in Karakura Town, where both the manga and anime also began.

The Bleach movie is expected to be released in Japan next year.

  • Captain Marvel Movie Will Bring A Big Character Back To MCU

Captain Marvel Movie Will Bring A Big Character Back To MCU

SHIELD boss and Avengers recruiter Nick Fury was one of the first recurring characters introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and has appeared in six movies since his debut in 2008’s Iron Man. However, actor Samuel L. Jackson has been absent from the franchise since 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, leading many fans to wonder when he will return. Now it has been reported that Fury will be back in 2019.

    No Caption Provided

According to Deadline, Jackson will reprise his role in Captain Marvel. Rumors of Jackson’s return had circulated online for a few days, but the news has now been confirmed by the site. It is not not known how much Jackson will feature in the film; when we last saw Fury, he was recovering from near-fatal injuries sustained during Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Captain Marvel is set to hit screens in March 2019. It will star Brie Larson as the title character, aka Carol Danvers. In April, it was announced that the movie will be directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, who collaborated on Ryan Gosling’s breakthrough Half Nelson and have directed episodes of hit TV shows The Affair and Billions.

Ahead of her standalone movie, Larson will play Captain Marvel in next year’s Avengers: Infinity War, which is currently in production. The film is expected to bring most of the MCU’s heroes together to fight the evil Thanos. Last week some on-set footage was released, showing Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange) preparing for scenes in downtown Atlanta, Georgia.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018, with Captain Marvel arriving on March 8, 2019.

  • Nintendo Switch's Arms DLC Release Date Revealed

[Update July 7]: Arms’ Max Brass character DLC will launch on July 12, Nintendo has announced. “The Commish,” as he’s otherwise known, will arrive as part of a free update that day. Check out all the details below.

    Original story [July 3] follows.

Nintendo has published a new Arms gameplay video focused on Max Brass, who has been in the game as a boss-like character since its launch, but will become playable in July. Brass is a heavy bruiser that, when his arms are charged up, can take punches without flinching.

When his health falls below 20 percent his arms become permanently charged up, so he becomes an even more formidable fighter as duels progress. Max Brass will be part of the Arms DLC update available for free in July. Watch the video above to see Max Brass in action.

Arms launched earlier in June to positive critical reception. In our review, critic Kallie Plagge called it a “strong, substantial fighting game,” but one that “takes a while to really hit its stride.”

On June 26, Nintendo released a new update for Arms that introduces new features including the Arena Mode. This is similar to online play’s Party Mode, but it is a local multiplayer mode that allows you to spectate your friends’ matches while playing in the same room. Up to four friends can be in the same lobby, with two players fighting each other while the other pair watches on.

The update also introduced a LAN Mode which offered the same options as wireless local multiplayer, but with the more stable speeds ethernet connections provide.
