  • Winter Is Coming In Fortnite’s Season 7

Winter Is Coming In Fortnite’s Season 7

This morning Fortnite tweeted out a reminder that season 7 of the popular battle royale is coming in three days. The cryptic tweet includes the silhouette of what appears to be a crowned ice wraith, and the message “A bitter ice spreads… 3 days to season 7.”

Could Fortnite be channeling its inner Game of Thrones, which airs its final season in 2019? Could there be a possible Ice King skin from the popular animated series Adventure Time as @MikeDoww tweeted out? Or is this just another update celebrating the winter season as Fortnite did with season 6, honoring fall with spooky Halloween-themed gear?

Where's Our Just Cause 4 Review?

Just Cause 4’s review embargo is now officially up, and tomorrow open-world fans will be able to jump into Rico Rodriguez’s latest island-destroying adventure for themselves. However, if you want to hear Game Informer’s final verdict before deciding whether to take the plunge or not, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. We only received review code for the console version of Just Cause 4 late last night, and as such are just now getting into the action.

While it will be a few days before I’m ready to share my thoughts on the game, you can expect a look at the Just Cause 4’s opening later today, courtesy of open-world shenanigans expert Leo Vader. I won’t be sitting in on the video so that I can focus on the review, but I’m guessing it will contain plenty of explosions to tide you over.

  • Introducing Xbox Stream Collider

Today we’re excited to introduce gaming fans to a new Xbox original content series we call Stream Collider. In Stream Collider, the worlds of gaming and pop culture influencers collide into a unique “show-within-a-stream,” that you can watch for the first time this Wednesday, Dec 5th @ 6PM PST.

Stream Collider will be an episodic series that streams live on the Xbox channel on Mixer. Within each episode, Mixer’s top streamers and pop culture’s top creators will combine their talents (and their audiences) to compete in thematic challenges related to one of the hottest new game titles releasing on Xbox One. Mixer’s livestreaming audience will be able to affect the show in real time using Mixer’s unique interactivity features, providing influencers and streamers challenges or aid throughout the stream. The series is hosted by comedian, podcaster, and passionate gamer, Jon Gabrus.

The first episode premieres this Wednesday, December 5, at 6 p.m. PST and features popular YouTube chefs from Feast of Fiction and highly skilled Fallout 76 gamer and Mixer streamer, Renee Reynosa. Episode 1, titled “Nuclear Kitchen,” will pit chefs vs. streamer in a race to cook Fallout 76’s nuclear, post-apocalyptic dishes both in the game and in real life.

Feast of Fiction is an innovative cooking show dedicated to creating your favorite fantastical and fictional recipes from books, movies, comics, video games and more. Jimmy Wong and Ashley Adams are well loved by the internet with over 1 million YouTube subscribers tuning in while they craft real-life equivalent of fictional dishes in a geeky and entertaining show. Jimmy brings his gaming skills to the table and Ashley provides the much-needed culinary wisdom to create these one-of-a-kind dishes.

Renee Reynosa is unofficially Fallout’s biggest fan. She is a full-time Mixer streamer and partner, with over 10 years of game video creation and streaming experience – with more than 750,000 followers across Mixer and social channels. On Mixer, Renee’s dedicated community tunes into her broadcasts every week to see which game she’s playing next, to enjoy her witty commentary and reactions to their favorite titles. She’s been counting down the days to Fallout 76 and now that it’s here, she can’t wait to team up with Feast of Fiction and make some in-game grub.

For the duration of the series, gaming fans can tune-in each to each episode, as we bring together popular streamers and creators from across the internet, featuring some of the best games available on Xbox One today.

Be sure to tune in for the first Stream Collider livestream on Wednesday, December 5 at 6 p.m. PST on the Xbox channel on Mixer.

  • Of Course There'll Be a Fortnite Announcement at The Game Awards

    Well duh.

It wouldn’t be a video game event without a bit of Fortnite thrown into the mix. Geoff Keighley has taken to Twitter to announce that the Battle Royale behemoth will receive a world premiere announcement at The Game Awards on Thursday from creative director Donald Mustard himself.

Most interestingly, Keighley wraps his tweet up by stating: “And oh yeah, keep your game close.” If we were to don our Push Square speculative hats for a second, we’d say this points towards an immediate release of whatever is being teased here. Potentially the kick-off of season seven? That’s what internet chatter is pointing towards.

    Bang, another one.

It’s been a little while since we heard anything about RAGE 2. It made an appearance at Gamescom 2018, but we still know relatively little about the open world shooter. The fact it’s a joint effort between Avalanche Studios and id Software is pretty exciting, but it remains to be seen whether it’ll all come together.

We’ll at least get another glimpse at the title during The Game Awards 2018. Teasing its appearance at the show, the RAGE 2 Twitter account says a brand new trailer will debut during the ceremony.
