Rock On – Official Trailer for 'Steven Tyler: Out on a Limb' Documentary

Steven Tyler: Out on a Limb Trailer

“Everybody wants to know – why would I go country?” Momentum Pictures has unveiled an official trailer for the documentary Steven Tyler: Out on a Limb, a profile of the musician/rock artist known as Steven Tyler. The film is not about Aerosmith, per se, but about Tyler himself and focuses on his new style – country. The synopsis explains it’s about him “as he embraces the challenges of shifting gears, both as a solo performer and in a new genre of music.” Oh boy. The film features interviews with Steven Tyler, The Loving Mary Band, Slash, Robert Deleo, Jaren Johnston, Starfighters, David Hodges, Chris Destefano, and Nathan Barlowe. And it’s directed by a filmmaker who made Aerosmith: Rock for the Rising Sun previously. Even though this is a real doc, it’s one of the few I just couldn’t care less about, but that’s just me. Give it a look. ›››

Official US Trailer for 'Grace Jones: Bloodlight & Bami' Documentary

Grace Jones: Bloodlight & Bami Trailer

“Did you ever think that Grace would be a movie star?” “Sure, baby.” Kino Lorber has revealed a brand new, full-length official US trailer for the documentary Grace Jones: Bloodlight & Bami, from director Sophie Fiennes, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year and already opened in Europe last fall. Originally titled Grace Jones – The Musical of My Life, the film tells the life story of artist/dancer/actor Grace Jones, who some may recognize as May Day from A View to a Kill, though her career is much more diverse ranging from dance to art to music and much more. Described as an “electrifying journey through the public and private worlds of pop culture mega-icon Grace Jones contrasts musical sequences with intimate personal footage, all the while brimming with Jones’s bold aesthetic.” The first two trailers didn’t show much, but this one finally gives us a better look with more of the fun footage in this very personal doc. ›››

  • One Final, Wild Red Band Trailer for 'Deadpool 2' with Ryan Reynolds

One Final, Wild Red Band Trailer for 'Deadpool 2' with Ryan Reynolds

    Deadpool 2 Trailer

“Prepare for the second coming.” Are you ready to rumble? Fox has debuted another trailer for Deadpool 2, this time a straight-forward trailer without any gimmicks – just tons of kick ass, crazy awesome footage. We’ve already seen some very creative trailers before, and this is looking better than ever. Ryan Reynolds is, of course, back as the “Merc with a Mouth”, Deadpool. The sequel’s cast includes Josh Brolin as Cable, plus Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, T.J. Miller, Eddie Marsan, Zazie Beetz, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Julian Dennison, and Stefan Kapicic. There’s still not an official title, but there is a joke it could just be released as the “Untitled Deadpool Sequel“, which would work. But it will probably just be called Deadpool 2 as this trailer says. So, fire it up, have fun, and buy your ticket as soon as you can. ›››

  • First Trailer for Miguel Arteta's Film 'Duck Butter' with Alia Shawkat

First Trailer for Miguel Arteta's Film 'Duck Butter' with Alia Shawkat

    Duck Butter Trailer

“You can’t play it safe in love…” The Orchard + Netflix have debuted the first official trailer for an indie drama titled Duck Butter, premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival coming up. If you really want to know what the title means, look it up on Urban Dictionary and you’ll understand. The concept of the film involves two women who meet at a concert, played by Alia Shawkat and Laia Costa (from Newness), who decide to spend 24 hours together. They try to fast-forward through a relationship, hoping to find a new way to create intimacy and explore romance. The cast includes Mae Whitman, Hong Chau, Kumail Nanjiani, Mark Duplass, and Kate Berlant. This was also produced by the Duplass Brothers, and has that quirky indie charm that they’re best at nurturing. Seems like it might be emotional yet enjoyable. Get a first look. ›››

  • Margot Robbie Plays an Assassin in First Teaser Trailer for 'Terminal'

Margot Robbie Plays an Assassin in First Teaser Trailer for 'Terminal'

    Terminal Teaser Trailer

“Tumbling down the rabbit hole…” RLJE Film has released a teaser trailer for a very twisted, crazy cool new assassins film titled Terminal, formerly known as End of the Line while in production. This is the feature debut of director Vaughn Stein, and it stars Margot Robbie, as well as Simon Pegg, Mike Myers, Max Irons, and Dexter Fletcher. I can’t really paraphrase this since it’s just perfect, so here’s the plot straight up: “Terminal follows two assassins with a sinister mission, a fatally ill teacher, an enigmatic janitor and a waitress with a double life. Murderous consequences unravel as their lives meet at the hands of a criminal mastermind wanting revenge.” There’s not much revealed in this teaser, but it looks very stylish and slick. ›››

  • Teaser Trailer for 'The Spy Who Dumped Me' with Kunis & McKinnon

Teaser Trailer for 'The Spy Who Dumped Me' with Kunis & McKinnon

The Spy Who Dumped Me Trailer

“Why is this happening?!” “I don’t know, because you dated a spy.” Lionsgate has released the first teaser trailer for the buddy comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me, starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon as best friends. The title is a riff on the classic James Bond movie The Spy Who Loved Me (released 1977), obviously, and the trailer plays like a Bond movie with the cool animated title sequence and all of that. I dig it. The plot involves the two women getting caught up in a deadly spy conspiracy with assassins on their tail, and even though he’s her ex-boyfriend, they’re still going after them. Justin Theroux co-stars as the spy, with Gillian Anderson, Ivanna Sakhno, Sam Heughan, and Hasan Minhaj. I was actually expecting this to look awful, but it doesn’t look so bad. A bit cheesy, sure, but these two make an amusing friends pair. ›››

One More Trailer for Sony's 'Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation'

Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation Trailer

“Maybe you’ll find your own fireworks on the cruise?” Sony Pictures has debuted a new official trailer for the animated sequel Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, once again directed by the animation mastermind Genndy Tartakovsky. This series has (apparently) already established a strong fan-base, so this is just continuing the series for them mostly. Hotel Transylvania 3 brings back the “Drac Pack” and his family/squad, this time going on a summer vacation cruise. Drac falls for the “intriguing-yet-dangerous” captain of the ship, but she actually has it out for him. This again featuring the voices of Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, and Genndy Tartakovsky. This isn’t really for me, but I know it has a big audience. There’s some cool monsters and horror riffs in this, worth a look just for those things at least. ›››

  • Chiwetel Ejiofor in Official Trailer for Religious Drama 'Come Sunday'

Chiwetel Ejiofor in Official Trailer for Religious Drama 'Come Sunday'

    Come Sunday Trailer

“You need to consider everything you’re putting at risk, and not just for yourself.” Netflix has released the first official trailer for a film titled Come Sunday, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Oscar-nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor plays Bishop Carlton Pearson, an evangelical megastar, brilliant orator, and television host with millions of followers. He suddenly has an epiphany one day and realizes: God loves all humankind; everyone is already saved, whether Christian or not; and there is no hell. But preaching this gets him into all kinds of trouble. The cast includes Danny Glover, Condola Rashad, Jason Segel, Lakeith Stanfield, and Martin Sheen. These kinds of religious dramas aren’t really my jam, even with Ejiofor in the lead role, but I have to admit – damn does this trailer look good. Watch below. ›››

  • First Wacky Trailer for David Robert Mitchell's 'Under the Silver Lake'

First Wacky Trailer for David Robert Mitchell's 'Under the Silver Lake'

    Under the Silver Lake Trailer

“You’re living in a carnival, hoping to win a prize. What are you going to win?” A24 has debuted the first official trailer for the new film from It Follows director David Robert Mitchell, titled Under the Silver Lake, a reference to the trendy Silver Lake neighborhood in Los Angeles. Andrew Garfield stars as a guy who falls for his neighbor one night, but wakes up to find she has suddenly disappeared. It’s described as a “delirious neo-noir fever dream about one man’s search for the truth behind the mysterious crimes, murders and disappearances in his East L.A. neighborhood.” It’s inspired by other noir classics like Kiss Me Deadly, The Long Goodbye, Chinatown, and Mulholland Dr. Also starring Riley Keough, Topher Grace, Callie Hernandez, and Jimmi Simpson. This looks totally nuts, but in a good way, so many wacky, wild things in this trailer. I don’t even know what’s going on?! Creepy old dude, funky parties, drones, LA people galore. ›››

“The whole thing’s rigged against the people it should be helping the most.” Netflix has released an official trailer for the indie film titled simply just Amateur, the feature debut of writer/director Ryan Koo, also known as the founder of the film website No Film School. Koo’s Amateur is about a 14-year-old basketball phenom named who struggles to fit in with his new team after a video of him goes viral. He also discovers a system of corruption and greed in amateur sports. Michael Rainey Jr. (from “Orange Is the New Black”, “Power”, and Barbershop: The Next Cut) plays Terron, and the cast includes Josh Charles, Brian White, Corey Parker Robinson, and Sharon Leal. This looks intense, and a bit depressing (how rigged it all is). ›››
