Another Official Trailer for Gilliam's 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote'

The Man Who Killed Don Quixote Trailer

“We shall have such great adventures together.” Another trailer has debuted for Terry Gilliam’s long-lost, long-awaited, highly anticipated film The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. It’s currently set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, however the festival released a strongly-worded statement today (a coincidence but timing makes sense) about the legal battle it’s stuck in – and that it might not premiere if a judge decides otherwise. This new trailer follows the first teaser trailer a few weeks ago, and it contains footage of Driver filming his version of a Quixote movie as well. This film is about an advertising executive who jumps back & forth in time between 21st century London and 17th century La Mancha, where Don Quixote mistakes him for Sancho. Starring Jonathan Pryce as Don Quixote, and Adam Driver as Toby, with Olga Kurylenko, Stellan Skarsgård, Rossy de Palma, Óscar Jaenada, Jordi Mollà, Jason Watkins, Sergi López. I think this looks very amusing, and hopefully entertaining, only time will tell. You never know with Gilliam. ›››

  • Second Trailer for Comedy 'Book Club' with Diane Keaton & Jane Fonda

Second Trailer for Comedy 'Book Club' with Diane Keaton & Jane Fonda

    Book Club Trailer

“I don’t care what society says about women our age… The choice should be ours!” Paramount has debuted a second official trailer for the summer comedy Book Club, starring Diane Keaton and Jane Fonda. The movie is about four lifelong friends who have their lives forever changed after reading 50 Shades of Grey in their monthly book club. Yeah, that’s this movie, so watch out folks. The cast also includes Candice Bergen, Mary Steenburgen, Craig T. Nelson, with Andy Garcia and Don Johnson as two of the “old flames” that return to their lives. As I said with the first trailer, this actually doesn’t look as bad as it sounds, but it definitely does not look that good either. But hey, maybe it’s just not for me, right? Take a look below. ›››

  • New US Trailer for John Woo's Totally Crazy 90s Action Film 'Manhunt'

New US Trailer for John Woo's Totally Crazy 90s Action Film 'Manhunt'

    Manhunt

“The return of the maestro!” Woo is back!! Netflix has debuted a brand new official US trailer for the release of John Woo’s latest action film, titled Manhunt. It’ll be available streaming starting this weekend, which is good news for those who want to see this totally crazy movie. Manhunt is about an innocent prosecutor who sets out on a mission to clear his name after being framed for crimes he didn’t commit. Zhang Hanyu stars as the prosecutor, and the cast includes Masaharu Fukuyama, Qi Wei, and Ha Ji Won. This is actually a remake of the 1976 Japanese film Kimi yo Fundo no Kawa o Watare. It played at the Venice Film Festival, where I first saw it, and wrote a review about how it couldn’t be more of a 90s action film – the kind you’d find on VHS in a video store and watch with friends. Now you can watch it on Netflix, and still enjoy. ›››

  • Official Trailer for Coming-of-Age 'All Summers End' with Tye Sheridan

Official Trailer for Coming-of-Age 'All Summers End' with Tye Sheridan

    All Summers End Trailer

“All I want to do is just be a kid.” Gravitas Ventures has released an official trailer for an indie coming-of-age film titled All Summers End, from new director Kyle Wilamowski, making his feature debut. This indie film is about a boy, played by Tye Sheridan (from Mud, X-Men: Apocalypse, Ready Player One) who falls in love with a girl one summer, played by Kaitlyn Dever (from Short Term 12, Detroit). But he also has to deal with his guilty conscience after his role in a prank gone wrong. The film also stars Pablo Schreiber, Austin Abrams, Annabeth Gish, Ryan Lee, Paula Malcomson, and Bill Sage. Not bad. This looks pretty much exactly as it sounds, an emotional coming-of-age indie flick, so give it a look if you’re curious. ›››

  • New Featurette for 'Solo' Gives a Look at How Han Becomes Han Solo

New Featurette for 'Solo' Gives a Look at How Han Becomes Han Solo

    Solo Featurette

“We’re meeting Han right before he becomes the Han that we know.” Disney + Lucasfilm have revealed a fun new “making of” featurette for the Solo: A Star Wars Story movie, directed by Ron Howard. Is it not super exciting that we get to see a new Star Wars movie in less than a month?! This featurette for Solo gives us a quick look at how Han becomes Han Solo, which is essentially what this movie’s story is all about. The video features interviews with director Ron Howard, screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan, and the principal cast. And I still think Lando might steal the show. Alden Ehrenreich stars as Han Solo, and the film’s full cast includes Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Thandie Newton, Warwick Davis, Clint Howard, and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. Here we go, bring it on Lucasfilm. ›››

Full Japanese Trailer for Pixar's 'Incredibles 2' Filled with New Footage

    Incredibles 2 Japanese Trailer

“Suit up.” Whoa! This trailer is packed with all kinds of awesome footage we haven’t seen before. Disney has released a full-length Japanese trailer for Pixar’s Incredibles 2, which is known as Incredible Family in Japan (the first movie was titled simply Mr. Incredible or Misutâ inkurediburu in Japanese). Another full theatrical trailer (for America) debuted a few weeks ago and it’s a good trailer, but this one is even better! So much going on here. Obviously all the family tension, but there’s clearly a big battle with the Underminer in this, who first appears at the end of the original movie. And this trailer also seems to hint at a big plot point involving Elastigirl. Craig T. Nelson is back to voice Bob, with Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sarah Vowell. I can’t wait to see this! Looking better and better the more we get to see. And now I kind of wish I could watch with the Japanese dub instead of English, it sounds so much cooler. You have to see this. ›››

Review: 'Avengers: Infinity War' is a Flawless Blockbuster That Will Leave MCU Fans Shaken

    Avengers: Infinity War Review

18 movies, 10 years, 10 Academy Award nominations, 6 Infinity Stones, and one mad Titan. Those are just some of the numbers the Marvel Cinematic Universe (aka the “MCU”) is working with going into its 19th and latest film, Avengers: Infinity War, directed by Anthony & Joe Russo. All roads have certainly been leading to this, the culmination of the ever-expanding MCU and the adventures of the countless superheroes found therein. But Infinity War is unlike any of those adventures in which all of our favorite comic book characters have found themselves involved before. With Marvel Studios seemingly having perfected the superhero formula, it seems now is the perfect time to shake things up, and the MCU doesn’t disappoint. Infinity War not only leaves the entire MCU shaken, it works to leave fans of this universe shaken, as well. ›››

Teaser Trailer for Whitney Houston Documentary Premiering at Cannes

    Whitney Documentary Trailer

“You don’t know her story until you hear the truth.” Roadside Attractions has debuted the very first teaser trailer for the documentary titled Whitney, an official documentary about the life and music of the late Whitney Houston. This film is premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, which is a major debut, and is the only documentary officially approved by Houston’s estate. It’s directed by the talented doc filmmaker Kevin Macdonald, who explains: “I approached Whitney’s life like a mystery story; why did someone with so much raw talent and beauty self-destruct so publicly and painfully? [Her estate] entrusted me with the ‘keys to the vault’ while giving me complete freedom to follow the story wherever it went. At [its] heart, Whitney is an intimate family story that reveals a new side to a woman that even her most die-hard fans never knew.” This is only the first teaser so it doesn’t have a ton of footage, but it certainly looks very powerful and emotional. ›››

  • Trailer for Horror 'Feral' About a Group Trying to Survive in the Woods

Trailer for Horror 'Feral' About a Group Trying to Survive in the Woods

    Feral Trailer

“You don’t understand what’s coming… you have no idea.” IFC Midnight has released an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Feral, from horror director Mark Young. The film is about a group of students who fight to survive a weekend in the woods when they suddenly start falling prey to a horrifying virus that turns them into rabid, rampaging cannibal-zombies. The script for this film is co-written by Adam Frazier, who also writes reviews for the site. Feral stars Scout Taylor-Compton, Olivia Luccardi, Lew Temple, Renee Olstead, Brock Kelly, Landry Allbright and George Finn. This looks freaky and cool, almost like a fun mashup between Evil Dead and It Comes at Night and a few other forest horror films. Watch out. ›››

Get Ready for Summer Movies with Amon's 2018 Blockbuster Montage

    2018 Blockbuster Montage

Today marks the official start of the 2018 summer movie season, with Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War opening in theaters worldwide. To celebrate the occasion, movie lover Amon Warmann has put together his annual preview video titled the “Summer 2018 Blockbuster Montage“, or “AMONtage”. Featuring footage from 13 big summer blockbusters, this plays the perfect sizzle reel that will hopefully get you excited about what’s going to be playing on the big screen over these next few months. While I wish he’d add some footage from some of the smaller films opening this summer, this is still an excellent preview with some very slick, impressive editing that makes this stand out over other mashups. After Avengers, I’m most looking forward to Incredibles 2 and Jurassic World, but the rest of these all do look promising. Enjoy the summer! ›››
