Watch: Keanu Reeves Narrates 'The Film Prayer' Short on Saving Film

    The Film Prayer

“I traveled many miles in tin cans…” TIFF has released a wonderful short film titled The Film Prayer, featuring narration by Keanu Reeves (who also produced the outstanding film vs digital documentary Side by Side a few years ago). It’s basically a short promo for TIFF’s “Save This Moment” campaign, bringing more awareness to film preservation and careful handling of film. The “prayer” which Reeves is reciting was written in 1920, supposedly by a projectionist. It was given to “film distributors to promote better handling of film and could be found inside film cans for many years.” A poignant reminder to keep film alive forever. ›››

Don't Watch: Awful Teaser Trailer for Unnecessary 'The Emoji Movie'

    The Emoji Movie Trailer

“It’s almost too thrilling for words…” Seriously, don’t watch this trailer. It’s so bad. Just skip it. Move on and forget about this movie right now. Sony Pictures Animation has unveiled the first teaser trailer for The Emoji Movie and it’s awful, just terrible. This movie is completely unnecessary, it doesn’t need to be made. From the looks of it, they ripped off the concepts of The LEGO Movie (the main character who doesn’t fit in), Inside Out (the emotions) and Wreck-It Ralph (inside the digital world) and dumbed them down to tell a stupid story about emojis. The voice cast includes T.J. Miller, James Corden and Ilana Glazer. One of the alternate titles for this is “Emojimovie: Express Yourself“, which is even worse. This is going to be bad. ›››

Watch: Full Theatrical Trailer for Gore Verbinski's 'A Cure for Wellness'

    A Cure for Wellness Trailer

“He’s a patient, not a prisoner.” 20th Century Fox has debuted a brand new, full-length trailer for Gore Verbinski’s A Cure for Wellness, a mysterious, creepy supernatural thriller about a “wellness” spa in the mountains in Switzerland that seems to have some freaky tricks up its sleeves. The trailers we’ve posted so far have all been very creepy, with lots of footage that should make you squirm in your seat. Dane DeHaan stars as an employee sent to rescue his boss from the spa, only to discover something much more sinister going on. The full cast includes Jason Isaacs, Mia Goth, Celia Imrie, Adrian Schiller, Carl Lumbly, Susanne Wuest, Lisa Banes, Ivo Nandi and Magnus Krepper. Word from those who’ve seen this film already is that it’s pretty damn good, and very disturbing. I’m glad to see Verbinski trying something new. ›››

  • New US Trailer for Animated 'Rock Dog' Movie with Singing Animals

New US Trailer for Animated 'Rock Dog' Movie with Singing Animals

    Rock Dog Movie Trailer

“If you could feel what I’m feeling, it’s the answer to the question of my life.” Lionsgate has unveiled a new US trailer for the animated movie Rock Dog, originally produced in China. This musical is about a dog who realizes it’s his destiny to become a rock star. Luke Wilson voices Bodi, a Tibetan Mastiff who discovers it’s his dream to become a musician when a radio falls out of the sky. The voice cast includes Eddie Izzard, J.K. Simmons, Lewis Black, Kenan Thompson, Mae Whitman, Jorge Garcia, Matt Dillon and Sam Elliott as “Fleetwood Yak”. This looks fun, and it has some wacky moments, but from what I’ve heard it’s not that great. It looks a bit cheesy and the songs don’t seem catchy, but you never know. Give it a spin. ›››

One Final Trailer for Peter Berg's 'Patriots Day' with Mark Wahlberg

    Patriots Day Trailer

“Let’s show these guys they messed with the wrong city.” CBS Films has posted one more trailer for Peter Berg’s Patriots Day, the emotional action thriller about the true story of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. We’ve already seen so many trailers for this, I don’t think another one is necessary, but they’re really pushing this movie. Mark Wahlberg stars as Sgt. Tommy Saunders, with the full cast featuring Michelle Monaghan, Kevin Bacon, J.K. Simmons, John Goodman, Michael Beach, Alex Wolff, Melissa Benoist and Rachel Brosnahan. This trailer even has interview footage of the actual people who worked during the incident, talking about the story and how well they captured it in this movie. Take a look below. ›››

  • Must Watch: Keanu Reeves in Second Trailer for 'John Wick: Chapter 2'

Must Watch: Keanu Reeves in Second Trailer for 'John Wick: Chapter 2'

    John Wick: Chapter 2 Trailer

“The man, the myth, the legend…” Lionsgate has revealed a new, ass-kicking, full-length trailer for John Wick: Chapter Two, the highly anticipated sequel to the action classic John Wick from 2014. The teaser was awesome, but this is even better – which is why it’s a “must watch” trailer. Keanu Reeves returns as the iconic unkillable assassin John Wick, who has to fight off countless more foes in Rome after taking out the Russian mobsters in the original. This also stars Ian McShane as Winston, with Ruby Rose, Bridget Moynahan, Peter Stormare, John Leguizamo, Thomas Sadoski, David Patrick Kelly, Common, Lance Reddick back as Charon, and Laurence Fishburne. I am so ready for this! It looks totally badass. ›››

Must Watch: Teaser Trailer for Denis Villeneuve's 'Blade Runner 2049'

    Blade Runner 2049 Trailer

“I had your job once… I was good at it.” “Things were simpler then.” Warner Bros has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049, the highly anticipated sequel to Ridley Scott’s seminal sci-fi Blade Runner (first released in 1982). This direct sequel takes place 30 years after the original story, and stars Ryan Gosling as LAPD Officer who must find Deckard, who has been missing all this time. Harrison Ford returns to play Deckard, and the new cast of 2049 includes Ana de Armas, Jared Leto, Dave Bautista, Mackenzie Davis, Robin Wright, Barkhad Abdi, Lennie James as well as David Dastmalchian. This doesn’t exactly reveal much, it’s just an introductory teaser, but I am very happy with the way it looks. The coloring is nice, the mood and music are spot on, I’m in. Excited to see more from this. ›››

  • First UK Trailer for Alice Lowe's Pregnancy Black Comedy 'Prevenge'

First UK Trailer for Alice Lowe's Pregnancy Black Comedy 'Prevenge'

    Prevenge Trailer

“Baby knows what to do. Baby will tell you what to do.” The first UK trailer has debuted online for an indie black comedy, pregnancy horror titled Prevenge, about a pregnant mum who goes on a homicidal rampage encouraged by her unborn baby. This is the first feature film directed by Alice Lowe, an actor most might recognize from Sightseers, who also wrote the script and stars in this film, too. Described as a “pitch black, wryly British comedy”, the film follows Ruth, played by Lowe, a woman seven months pregnant who listens to what her baby tells her and takes out anyone who stands in her way. Also starring Kate Dickie, Gemma Whelan, Jo Hartley, Kayvan Novak and Eileen Davies. This looks so messed up, but also wicked fun. ›››

New Trailer for 'Running Wild' Rancher Drama Starring Sharon Stone

    Running Wild Trailer

“These men may spend the night in jail, there may be guards all over the place, but when they’re with these horses they’re free.” ONE Media has debuted a trailer for a film titled Running Wild, a drama about a woman trying to save her ranch by working with convicts to rehabilitate a herd of wild horses that came on to her property. This stars Dorian Brown as Stella Davis, the rancher woman who learns that “there is no better remedy to misfortune than helping another living creature.” Indeed. Sharon Stone also stars, along with Tommy Flanagan, Christina Moore, Jason Lewis, Tom Williamson, John Ducey, & Michael Wiseman. This looks like a straight-to-TV Hallmark movie, but somehow it’s sneaking into some theaters. ›››

  • Ewan McGregor Talks Playing Renton in 'T2: Trainspotting' Featurette

Ewan McGregor Talks Playing Renton in 'T2: Trainspotting' Featurette

    Renton Featurette

“Much has changed but just as much remains the same.” Sony UK has debuted a featurette focused on the character of Renton, played by Ewan McGregor, in the sequel T2: Trainspotting. This seems to be the first of many featurettes, obviously with more coming for the other three main characters – Ewen Bremner as Spud, Jonny Lee Miller as Sick Boy, and Robert Carlyle as Begbie. I actually wish this featurette was longer – it’s only 60 seconds and barely has any good footage, but it does do a good job of making me want to see this sequel really bad. It seems like they’re ready to bring these characters back again, it might just be the perfect time. I’m excited to see what happens in this one, and I’m looking forward to finding out what everyone else has been up to in the meantime as well. Take a look below and stay tuned for more featurettes. ›››
