  • Free Mafia 3 DLC Out Now, Adds Racing Mode, Car Customizations, and Outfits

Free Mafia 3 DLC Out Now, Adds Racing Mode, Car Customizations, and Outfits

A new, free update for open-world crime game Mafia III has arrived, adding new car customization options and a racing mode, among other things.

Car customization was a “big request” from fans, publisher 2K Games said in a blog post. The new DLC adds 10 new customization options, six of which can be unlocked through normal gameplay. Three others are available with the Family Kick-Back DLC (it was free for people who preordered the game and goes for $5 otherwise), and one is a brand-new car called the Griffin Marauder.

To customize the cars, you need to visit any of the nine Big Rick’s Gararage locations throughout the game. There you can add things like decals, exhauts, spoilers, wheels, and superchargers. With the new update applied, there are now more than 50 customization options available in the game.

The Mafia III update also adds a racing mode. Available in the game right now are 12 races; six are circuit lap races and the other six are point-to-point ones. To unlock the races, you need to have a sit-down with all three of the game’s lieutenants. After that, race markers will show up in the world, provided you are not being chased by the police.

Placing highly in the races will earn you new customization options, while you can win the Griffin Marauder by “ruling the race courses,” 2K said. Here’s what the car looks like:

Three new outfits for main character Lincoln Clay also come with the update, including “Bad, Bad Mr. Burke,” “On the Prowl,” and “The Classico.” The only way to get that last one (pictured below) is to link your My2K account to Mafia III; you’ll also get the Il Duca revolver for doing this.

Finally, 2K teased that more free updates, which will include things like more customization items and bug fixes, are headed to Mafia III in the New Year.

There are also multiple paid expansion packs coming to the game, including ones based on the Vietnam War and ritualistic killings.

2K’s parent company, Take-Two, announced in November that Mafia III shipped 4.5 million copies in its first week, setting a new launch record for 2K. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick also responded to Mafia III’s reviews, which were lower than what the company had hoped for.

  • Captain Marvel Set for Debut in Avengers: Infinity War

Captain Marvel Set for Debut in Avengers: Infinity War

Avengers: Infinity War, the third movie in the Marvel superhero team-up series, is set to start production in early 2017. A new casting call for the movie has revealed some details about which characters we can expect to see in the film–including the first big screen appearance for Captain Marvel.

    No Caption Provided

As reported by Omega Underground, the casting call is primarily for “extras, stand-ins, photo-doubles, and possible featured roles.” However the listing, which is on moviecastingcall.org, also features a full cast list, including some previously rumoured characters.

Most notably, the list reveals that Captain Marvel will appear, ahead of her own movie in 2019. Brie Larson is listed as Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel’s alter ego–Larson was announced in the role back in July.

In addition, the site shows that the full Guardians of the Galaxy cast will play a part in Infinity War. Groot actor Vin Diesel previously said that the Guardians would appear, but the casting call also states that Karen Gillan’s villainous Nebula will be involved.

Elsewhere, it is stated that Spider-Man and Black Panther, the latest additions to the Marvel cinematic universe, will be in there too.

Infinity War will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War for Marvel. It was originally planned as two movies, but a retitling in July has meant that the second film will be something different. Although they are shooting back-to-back, the Russo brothers have stressed that they will not be two parts of the same story.

Last month, the Russos posted a new image on Instagram that shows them scouting for a location in the film. While the photo didn’t reveal anything specific, it was the sort of trippy environment we might find Doctor Strange in. It has previously been confirmed that Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays Doctor Strange, will appear in Infinity War.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018, while the untitled fourth Avengers movie follows on May 3, 2019. Captain Marvel will be released on March 8, 2019.
