  • Destiny 2 Xur Location Guide: Where Is Xur, What Exotics Is He Selling? (December 3)

Destiny 2 Xur Location Guide: Where Is Xur, What Exotics Is He Selling? (December 3)

It’s that time of the week again where Destiny 2 players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC drop everything and go to see Xur to pick up some new Exotic gear and weapons. This week everyone’s favorite part-timer has shown up on Earth and, as always, we’ve got all the information you need to find him and see what wares he’s peddling this week.

Finding him, at this point, should be easy. He’s been on this spot multiple times, but if you need a refresher here it is: fast travel to the Winding Cove and when you arrive hop on your Sparrow. On the left-hand side you should see a winding road, follow that up a bit and you’ll see a small cliff with a downed ship above. Get off your Sparrow and get to jumping on rocks and you’ll be able to make it up to him. If you’re still finding it tricky, watch our video above, in which you’ll also get to see what he’s offering. Alternatively you can check out the gallery below for pictures of his latest stock.

    • Sweet Business (Auto Rifle) – 29 Legendary Shards
    • Lucy Raspberry (Chest Armor) -23 Legendary Shards
    • Synthoceps (Gauntlets) – 23 Legendary Shards
    • Skull of Dire Ahamkara (Warlock Class Helmet) – 23 Legendary Shards

Bungie has detailed its vision for Destiny 2’s future in a preview blog post, which took the place of a canceled Curse of Osiris livestream. The studio outlined its plans for two updates coming next month, the first of which arrives on December 5 alongside Curse of Osiris, with another following on December 12. These updates will “deepen rewards for advanced players; provide more player control over obtaining rewards; make Shards useful by adding things to use them for; [and] provide general quality fixes wherever possible.”

In the December 5 update, new Armor Ornaments will be added for “some” existing armor, so players will be able to change the look of their gear without affecting your Shaders or Mods. There will also be changes to how mods are acquired from Banshee.

In the December 12 update, Bungie will introduce Masterworks versions of Legendary weapons, which track and display your kills with that weapon (and can be set to show Crucible kills or total kills). Masterworks weapons can also create Orbs when scoring multi-kills, and have weapon stat bonuses that are “selected randomly from a small pool and are re-rollable.” They address a common complaint that weapon duplicates are effectively worthless in the current game. You can read more details about the upcoming Destiny 2 update changes here.

The Curse of Osiris expansion, meanwhile, launches on December 5. It will increase Destiny 2’s level cap and offer PS4-exclusive content. For more, take a look at some of the new Curse of Osiris armor and gear or check out some Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris gameplay.

  • Destiny 2 Curse Of Osiris DLC Release Time, Install Size, And Pre-Load Details Announced

Destiny 2‘s first big expansion, Curse of Osiris, is drawing near. With its release date scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, Bungie has shared some details regarding launch day and pre-loading, and it’s also delivered a new trailer highlighting some of the DLC’s new content.

Pre-loading will be available, but not especially far in advance. Players who pre-order the DLC won’t be able to start downloading it until 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM GMT on December 5 (3 AM AET on December 6). Launch day will also see another maintenance period, although an exact schedule or timetable for this hasn’t been announced. Curse of Osiris will be officially released once maintenance concludes. [Update: Bungie now estimates maintenance will begin at 7 AM PT and end at 10 AM PT.]

In order to pre-load, you’ll need to ensure you have enough storage space. The requirements range pretty dramatically from platform to platform; here’s the minimum that you’ll need on each system (which we can safely assume accounts for the size of the base game):

Curse of Osiris costs $20 or is included in the $35 Expansion Pass. It introduces a new planet, Mercury, for players to visit, along with new story missions, Strikes, Crucible maps, weapons, armor, and more–you can see some of the new gear in the video above. The expansion’s release will coincide with the first of two big December updates. December 5 will also mark a change to Guided Games and the weekly reset schedule, and it will also see the release of PS4 Pro and Xbox One X enhancements for Destiny 2.

  • 5 Things You Need to Know About The Razer Phone

5 Things You Need to Know About The Razer Phone

Razer’s phone isn’t a gaming phone per se, but it is a device built for gamers. As a result, it breaks unprecedented ground in a few areas but falters in others. Here are the top five things you should know about the Razer phone.

    Display:

The Razer Phone uses a 5.7 inch 2560x1440p display. This is the same resolution that many high-end gaming monitors use and it looks really sharp. What really makes it unique, though, is the fact that it features a variable refresh rate, that’s similar to G-Sync or Freesync, and can scale up to 120Hz. Most other phones are locked to 60. It’s really refreshing to see Razer break into a mature market here and disrupt a bunch of leading phone manufacturers like Apple, Google and Samsung. One downside here is that it doesn’t use an OLED panel like many other flagships and opts to use an IPS LCD instead. This means that it doesn’t feature true black levels that OLED displays offer, which might be a deal breaker to some, but unfortunately they don’t make 120Hz OLED panels.

    Specs:

The Razer Phone uses top tier Android parts. It’s equipped with Qualcomm’s leading Snapdragon 835 SOC coupled with a massive 8GB of RAM. To put things into perspective, that’s twice as much RAM as Google’s flagship Pixel 2 XL. It also has a HUGE 4,000 milliamp hour battery that is more than capable of lasting a typical day. While it comes with 64GB of built-in storage, it thankfully allows you to install a microSD card so you can expand it to 2 terabytes.

    No Caption Provided

    Camera:

The Razer Phone has an 8 megapixel f2.0 front-facing camera coupled with 2 cameras on the back. One is a 12mp f.175 wide angle and there’s another 12MP f.26 zoom. The bad news is that the cameras are pretty bad. Overall, they make images look much too soft and lack image clarity. In addition, the back cameras oddly shoot almost everything in a forced portrait mode, so that only a certain part of the image will be in focus. Software updates could potentially address some of these issues, but if you’re looking for a great camera on your phone, I’d focus elsewhere for now.

    Speakers:

The Razer phone has two large bezels at the top and bottom, but I don’t really mind them because the company has squeezed in some amazing speakers here. I’d say they are the best phone speakers currently on the market. They’re good enough to replace small, cheap bluetooth speakers.

    Operating system:

The Razer phone is rocking Android Nougat 7.1.1 with a clean nova launcher skin. It also comes with different Razer themes you can download along with additional settings that allow you to optimize battery life over performance and vice versa. Razer tells me it plans to update the phone to Android 8.0 Oreo in Q1 next year, but hasn’t laid out an update roadmap beyond that.

  • Nintendo Switch Wins Black Friday, Call of Duty: WW2 Nerfs! – GS News Roundup

Happy Friday! It’s the last GameSpot News Roundup for the week, and Jess McDonell and Dan Crowd are ready to close it out with some hot video game news! Here’s what we cover today:

Previously Blocked By Strike, Life Is Strange Voice Actors Return For Bonus Episode

Voice actor Ashly Burch is increasingly become well known for her great performances in a number of recent games, like Aloy in Horizon: Zero Dawn and Chloe in Life Is Strange. However, due the most recent Screen Actor’s Guild strike, the follow-up prequel series, Before The Storm, went on to be released without Burch in the role. But now she’s back! What’s the deal? How does this work with her replacement, Rhianna DeVries? Find out in today’s episode!

Nintendo Switch was the hottest product on Black Friday and Cyber Monday — and it wasn’t even on sale

This is a pretty amusing story. Even though the Thanksgiving weekend once again had countless great deals on video games and game hardware, the best-selling product during this period was the Nintendo Switch. Hilarious. We explore one analyst’s assessment of this strong trend in the video today.

Call of Duty: WW2’s Headquarters Social Space Is Back

The infamous multiplayer social space in Call of Duty: WW2, that’s the one where you can watch people open loot boxes, is back online after developer Sledgehammer Games disabled it in order to address the sever issues that affected the game at launch. With its return comes a bunch of updates to the game, which nerf the effectiveness of some of the game’s more powerful weapons and perks.

Thanks for tuning into GameSpot News this week! Keep the conversation going by letting us know your thoughts on today’s news. We’ll see you next week!

First Look At Robin's Live-Action Titans Costume

Ahead of its debut sometime in 2018, the first look at the upcoming live-action adaptation of Teen Titans has been released and it showcases a major DC universe character. Robin, otherwise known as Dick Grayson, leads the team in Titans, and his vigilante suit is an impressive one.

The first image from the series shows Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) in Robin’s suit, complete with his signature staff. The costume was designed by Laura Jean, who is no stranger to superhero looks with costume credits that include both Iron Man and The CW’s upcoming Black Lightning.

Titans hails from DC Entertainment and The Berlanti Company, with Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti, and Sarah Schecter serving as executive producers. In addition to Robin, Anna Diop stars as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, and Minka Kelly as Dove.

An official synopsis for the series reads, “Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. Titans is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.”

Titans is being produced exclusively for the still-unnamed streaming service DC is planning to launch in 2018. It’s one of three programs in the works for the service so far, along with a revival of the animated Young Justice series and a Harley Quinn cartoon geared toward adult audiences..

  • PUBG Will Run At 30 FPS On All Xbox One Devices, PlayerUnknown Clarifies

PUBG Will Run At 30 FPS On All Xbox One Devices, PlayerUnknown Clarifies

[Update] Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene has clarified that PUBG will run at 30 FPS on all the Xbox devices, including the Xbox One X, when the game becomes available through Xbox’s Game Preview Program.

While I previously stated PUBG would run at higher FPS at XGP launch on 12/12, I want to clarify that PUBG will run at 30 FPS across all @Xbox One devices. We’re constantly refining the game & exploring options to increase FPS, but this early in dev, we’re unable to confirm more.

    — PLAYERUNKNOWN (@PLAYERUNKNOWN) December 1, 2017

[Original story] PUBG is finally coming to Xbox One in December. On Xbox One X, you can expect the Hunger Games-style shooter to run at 60 FPS, creator Brendan Greene said in a new interview. But on the standard Xbox One, which has less power, the frame rate could be halved.

“Definitely on Xbox One X, 60 FPS,” Greene said in the latest issue of GamesTM, as reported by Wccftech. “On [the standard] Xbox One, we’re not sure. We may have to limit it at 30 FPS, maybe, but the last time I saw it, it was running at about 30 to 40.”

    No Caption Provided

Greene, who is the Playerunknown from the game’s title, added that developer Bluehole is “constantly improving” the game before launch, with an aim of hitting 60 FPS on both the standard Xbox One and the Xbox One X. One of the reasons why PUBG is launching on Xbox One through Game Preview program is to allow the developer the opportunity to improve the game in a test environment before its official launch. Overall, Greene said he has “great faith” that PUBG will hit 60 FPS on both.

At the same time, Greene acknowledged that frame rate “isn’t that important” for a game like PUBG compared to a twitch-based shooter like Call of Duty.

Also in the interview, Greene spoke generally about bringing PUBG to console. He said he’s happy to have partnered with Microsoft for the initial launch because “Xbox is synonymous with gaming.” Greene said there is the opportunity to see “incredible numbers” on console. Indeed, the huge success of the PUBG-like Fortnite Battle Royale seems to suggest console gamers are thirsty for the Battle Royale experience.

Greene told GameSpot earlier this year that he wants the Xbox One X version of PUBG to use 4K assets, but he wasn’t sure if this would be possible. That still seems to be the case, as Greene told the magazine that these 4K assets “don’t exist yet,” adding that “it’s going to take us some time to get them, but we do have a plan.”

Whatever the case, no matter which platform you’re playing on, Greene said he wants to ensure that the experience is similar on all systems. “There shouldn’t be an advantage to buying one console over another,” Greene explained.

While PUBG’s only current announced console platform is Xbox One, Microsoft has said the game is a “console launch exclusive” for Xbox. That seems to suggest a PlayStation 4 release may follow. PUBG launches on Xbox One on December 12.

  • Batman Ninja Anime Gets Incredible First Trailer, Watch It Here

Batman is one of the most beloved superheroes of all time, but with so many different actors, movies, and TV shows about him across the decades, it’s hard to think of what else can be done with the character. But it seems that there are still new and exciting ways to present the Caped Crusader–and the upcoming anime feature Batman Ninja is the proof.

Fans attending New York Comic-Con in September got a first taste of what to expect from the animated feature when a clip was screened there, and now the full trailer is online. As the title suggests, it’s a glorious mash-up of wild samurai action and classic Batman characters. So if you’ve ever wanted to see Batman, Joker, Harley Quinn, The Penguin, and Catwoman in an insane anime movie, here’s your chance. Check the trailer out below:

Batman Ninja has an impressive team of anime veterans behind the scenes. Creators Junpei Mizusaki, Takashi Okazashi, and Kazuki Nakashima have worked on shows such as Afro Samurai, Kill La Kill, and Gurren Lagann.

At the Comic-Con launch, the trio revealed that that they were approached by Warner to create the feature, and as huge Batman fans they jumped at the chance. “There’s a fight scene in this that might be the best fight scene I’ve seen in animation anywhere,” Miereanu told Comicbook.com. In addition, Mizusaki explained that all the action was acted out by performers in live-action, with the choreography motion-captured to assist the animation.

Batman Ninja is yet to be given a release date, but it is expected to arrive in 2019.
