  • Watch The Star Wars Battlefront 2 Story In Full

Some fans have already gotten a taste of Star Wars Battlefront II thanks to its early trial on EA/Origin Access, but today marks the game’s official release. While much of the conversation around it has centered on its controversial handling of microtransactions and fan backlash (which ultimately forced EA to temporarily drop them just prior to release), developer DICE has built on the previous Star Wars Battlefront in some notable ways with Battlefront II, one of which is its new campaign.

Unlike its predecessor, Battlefront II features a full-fledged single-player storyline that’s set between the events of Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The campaign puts players in the role of Iden Versio, the commander of an Imperial special forces unit known as the Inferno Squad and the primary character you play as throughout the campaign’s 5-8-hour runtime.

Battlefront II’s campaign is a canonical part of the franchise, filling in important details that lead up to the rise of the First Order in The Force Awakens and dropping clues as to what could be in store the next Star Wars film, The Last Jedi. If you’re eager to see what happens in Battlefront II’s story without the need to play through the campaign, we’ve compiled all of its cutscenes and some gameplay clips together in the video above so you can watch the entire tale unfold as if it were its own Star Wars movie.

Star Wars Battlefront II is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. In our Battlefront II review-in-progress, critic Alessandro Fillari said the game’s campaign “does a decent job of showing the internal strife within the Empire’s ranks,” though it ultimately “falls a bit short of making it a remarkable journey for its characters.”

  • Top 10 UK Sales Chart – COD: WW2, FIFA 18 Dominate As Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Fails To Finish In Top 10

There’s very little change at the top of the UK sales chart this week (ending December 2), as the five best-selling games all maintain their positions from last week. That means Call of Duty: WWII comes top, before FIFA 18 at No. 2 and Gran Turismo Sport at No.3, according to sales monitor Chart-Track.

Star Wars Battlefront II keeps its No.4 position, while Assassin’s Creed Origins rounds off the top five once again. Nintendo Switch exclusives Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe finish at No.6 and No.8, respectively, but the console’s latest release, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, fails to chart in the top 10. It debuts at No.19, though that is nine places higher than its predecessor, Wii U title Xenoblade Chronicles X, managed upon its launch in December 2015.

The RPG has been received well among critics, and it earned a 7/10 in our Xenoblade Chronicles 2 review. “Xenoblade 2 exhibits admirable depth,” wrote critic Peter Brown. “Adventurous types that enjoy complex combat systems can easily spend more than 100 hours uncovering Alrest’s secrets and developing their team of Blades, provided they can come to terms with a handful of unavoidable shortcomings. It’s equal parts pleasing and frustrating, but the struggle to keep up with everything thrown your way is more of a hurdle than a roadblock. It will be a tough pill to swallow for people who aren’t accustomed to the typical cliches found in many Japanese RPGs, and its often clumsy nature keeps it from being the next groundbreaking Switch game, but Xenoblade 2 is worth pursuing if you’ve got enough patience to let it blossom.”

You can read the full top 10 sales chart below, courtesy of UKIE and Chart-Track. Note this table does not include digital sales data, and so should not be considered representative of all UK game sales.

    1. Call of Duty: WWII
    2. FIFA 18
    3. Gran Turismo Sport
    4. Star Wars Battlefront II
    5. Assassin’s Creed Origins
    6. Super Mario Odyssey
    7. Forza Motorsport 7
    8. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
    9. Grand Theft Auto V
    10. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

  • Sea Of Thieves Coming To The Game Awards

Microsoft’s much-anticipated Xbox One and PC game Sea of Thieves will appear at The Game Awards later this week, the company has confirmed. According to GamingBolt, Xbox marketing manager Aaron Greenberg said during an Extra Life livestream recently that the pirate-themed multiplayer game will be shown during the event, which takes place on Thursday, December 7.

In response to the news stories making the rounds based on his comments during the livestream, Greenberg cheekily wrote on Twitter, “Lose lips sink… ;-)” He went on to say that fans should “be sure” to watch The Game Awards to learn the latest.

Sea of Thieves was originally slated to launch for Xbox One and PC at some point this year, but at E3 2017 Microsoft announced the title would be pushed back into 2018. Developer Rare has confirmed that the game will allow cross-play between Xbox and PC players. The developer also added 540p and 15 FPS lock options to the PC version.

As for The Game Awards, they take place on the evening of December 7. We’re expecting announcements and new trailers, and of course there will also be awards. You can see a full roundup of all the categories and nominees here. In other news about The Game Awards, it was recently confirmed that Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro will present awards at the show, while Avenged Sevenfold’s guitarist will perform at the event.

  • New For Netflix In December 2017: Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, Will Smith's Bright, 8 Mile, And More Movies & TV Show

With the arrival of the holidays comes a slew of new shows and movies on Netflix. It’s a particularly busy month for the streamer, with many holiday specials joining the service, alongside several Netflix originals and a number of new library titles. With popular titles like V for Vendetta, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Disney’s The Santa Clause trilogy arriving, December is going to be a busy month for streaming.

However, it’s a Netflix original movie that you should be paying closest attention to. December 22 will see the premiere of Bright, starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton. The fantasy crime movie is directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad) with a script by Max Landis (American Ultra). The film marks Smith’s first time starring in a Netflix project and he’s certainly picked an interesting one.

Bright is set in a world where humans and fantasy creatures coexist. Smith plays an LAPD officer who is partnered with an Orc (Edgerton) when they find a very powerful magic wand that has the potential to change the world. Other new entries include Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, a new season of The Ranch, and Dave Chappelle’s latest stand-up comedy special. It’s not all good news, though.

There are also many titles departing the service in December. Black Snake Moan, Practical Magic, and 11 seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are just a few of the movies and shows that will no longer be available after the end of 2017. So make sure you watch them while you still can.

  • Free PS Plus Games: PS4 Titles For November 2017 Available On PlayStation Store

Sony has launched the next set of free games for PlayStation Plus members. We’re now well into November, and subscribers can download a total of seven titles across PS4, PS3, and Vita. That’s one more than usual, as Sony is again offering a bonus PlayStation VR game following the headset’s recent one-year anniversary. As usual, PS4 owners have the widest and best selection of games, but you’ve got something to look forward to regardless of platform.

PS4 owners with PS Plus have four games in total to nab for free right now: strategy game Worms Battlegrounds, the gorgeous (but hard-to-describe) Bound, and PSVR shooter Until Dawn: Rush of Blood; the latter will be available for longer than the other games, as it’s not a part of the standard monthly lineup. Additionally, Cross-Buy provides PS4 players with a fourth title at no cost, the action RPG Dungeon Punks.

Over on, PS3 there are two free games: classic shoot-em-up R-Type Dimensions and fighting game Rag Doll Kung Fu. Along with the aforementioned Dungeon Punks, Vita owners can download episodes 1 and 2 of adventure game Broken Sword 5: The Serpent’s Curse for free.

All of the standard PS Plus freebies can be claimed until December 5, when they’ll return to their regular prices. By adding them to your library before then, you can play them for as long as you remain a Plus subscriber. Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, meanwhile, remains free until January 3. You can see the full list of this month’s PS Plus freebies and grab them from the links below. PSN’s Black Friday sale has come to a close, but there’s still something to look forward to, as December’s PS Plus games have been announced.
