  • Cheap SIM only deal bargain: 2GB data for £5/pm for the first 3 months

Cheap SIM only deal bargain: 2GB data for £5/pm for the first 3 months

We all love a good bargain, and a new SIM only deal from a lesser-known name in the world of SIMO is offering just that. Dropping the cheapest Sim only deal on the market, this special offer from Smarty is a must grab for any bargain hunter out there.

Discounting the price of its small SIM only plan, Smarty is now offering a spend of just £5 a month. That price gets you 2GB of data, making it easily the cheapest option available.

However, as part of this promo from Smarty, that price only sticks around for 3 months, before jumping back up to £7.50 a month. But, thanks to Smarty’s flexibility – there are some options here.

Smarty operates on 1-month rolling contracts. That means you could hang around for 3 months, reaping the benefits of cheap bills and then disappear. Or, when those three months are up, roll onto the £7.50 a month contract, which is also an excellent price.

We’ve listed all of the details of this offer down below. Or if you would rather go for something different (more data perhaps?) then take a look through our guide to the UK’s best SIM only deals.

Smarty’s superb SIM only deal in full:

What other SIM only deals are available?

When it comes to cheap SIMO contracts, this is looking like the winning option. But, if you’re looking to keep that £5 pricing for longer than three months, your only option is with iD. It costs £5 a month and is still a 1-month rolling contract. However, you do only get 1GB of data and 500 minutes of calls.

On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, some of the best value contracts right now offer a load of data. Three’s unlimited data offer is a bargain right now for example.

At £11 a month for the first six months and then £22 for the rest of it, Three is making unlimited data pretty affordable right now.

Or, for something in the middle, Vodafone’s 8GB of data for £10 a month is an affordable way to get a decent amount of internet each month.

  • Iron Man VR Developer Video Showcases a Ton of New Gameplay Footage

    Suit up.

Are we the only ones more interested in Iron Man VR than next year’s Marvel’s Avengers? It’s shaping up to be a really great PlayStation VR game, and it looks the part too in this latest behind the scenes trailer. Check it out above.

Amongst snippets of interviews with the developers of the title, we get brief glimpses of new gameplay that has us excited. The team at Camouflaj has been working tirelessly to make sure flying feels right, alongside an immersive HUD that really makes you feel like the next Tony Stark. It’s pitched as an open-sandbox experience that’ll have you travelling at great speeds and slowing down for tighter turns, while boost will have you speeding away all over again.

  • Marvel Games’ Comic-Con Panel Was a Whole Load of Nothing

    Avengers gameplay after Gamescom.

We already knew that the Marvel’s Avengers gameplay demonstration wouldn’t be making its way out of the San Diego Comic-Con panel in Hall H, but it really doesn’t sound like there much was for attendees to get excited about anyway.

We followed the panel through a live blog, and for saying that surprises were most definitely promised, they didn’t exactly deliver. Iron Man VR took to the stage with a behind the scenes developer-focused video, that while did look good, didn’t result in any sort of release date.

  • Sony San Diego Has a New Office and Logo

    First-party developer on the move.

It’s all change at MLB The Show developer Sony San Diego, which seems to be the latest team under the PlayStation first-party umbrella to be leveling up. The studio – which also houses the Product Development Services Group and, purportedly, an entirely new unit rumoured to be working on an original Uncharted title in collaboration with Naughty Dog – has fresh digs and a revised logo.

According to employee Alex Gombos, the new office includes an open air break room, upgraded meeting rooms, and cold brew and kombucha on tap. It’s not the first PlayStation developer to expand, as Sony Santa Monica, Sony Bend, and Guerrilla Games have all moved into new buildings recently as well. It aligns with comments made by president Jim Ryan: that PlayStation is continuing to invest into first-party.

  • Oculus Wants to Trade Sony for PSVR Exclusives

    “We’ve thought about it”.

In what would be an unprecedented instance of video game swapsies, Oculus bigwig Jason Rubin has said that his company would “love” to trade exclusive games with competitor Sony. The former Naughty Dog man told Kotaku that “they have great stuff that they’ve funded and we have great stuff that we’ve funded”.

The insinuation, perhaps, is that if PlayStation were to port a title such as Blood & Truth to the Oculus Rift, it would be willing to return the favour with a release such as Lone Echo. It’s unlikely to happen, of course, but the virtual reality space is generally more collaborative than the console one, so there’s the smallest sliver of a chance.
