  • RWBY Gets A Crossover With Smite

RWBY Gets A Crossover With Smite

Characters from the Rooster Teeth anime RWBY are coming to Smite as character skins, Rooster Teeth announced last night.

In the tweet announcing the crossover, the official RWBY account displayed an image showing the four characters getting skins: Ruby, Blake, Weiss, and Yang.

    https://twitter.com/OfficialRWBY/status/1152423505993932800

The tweet did not reveal which of Smite’s heroes these skins will be for. However, in a reply to a Reddit thread on the topic, a representative from Smite developer Titan Forge Games offered a few more details: The voice actors from the original show will reprise their roles for the skins. As for how elaborate the skins will be? “Think Bob Ross Sylvanus, but taken to the next level.” So hopefully, these skins will more or less let you forget you’re actually playing as an existing character.

Further details on the crossover, such as a date or price, have not been announced.

  • Overwatch May Be Teasing A New Hero For Its Next Update

Overwatch May Be Teasing A New Hero For Its Next Update

Overwatch’s next big update may be shaking up how players queue for games, but we might also be getting a new hero soon, judging by a recent teaser.

In a tweet today, the official Overwatch account posted a video that begins as one of the team’s regular “Developer Update” videos, but is quickly usurped by a vortex that seems to suck in Blizzard vice president Jeff Kaplan, followed by cryptic imagery of complicated math equations, with an ominous soundtrack hinting that a larger mystery is afoot.

Unfortunately, we live in the age of social media mishaps, and many players already have a good idea of what this mystery entails. When posting about the role queue update, the Twitter for the Mexican Overwatch World Cup team posted a few screengrabs of the update sourced from the Mexican version of the blog post, which included a screenshot that included the phrase “TEMP ART,” and showed what looked like a new character named Sigma. The image has since been removed from the blog post, but the tweet remains as of this writing.

The name coincides with the mathematical theme of the teaser (sigma, or Σ, is the symbol used in summation notation to add up a set of numbers), which points to Sigma being the next hero added to Overwatch. It’s unknown when he’ll make it in, but considering the timing of the teaser, it’s likely to be soon. May Jeff Kaplan, who is now presumably forever stuck in that vortex, rest in peace.

  • Netflix Releases Its First Official Teaser For Season One Of The Witcher

“The worst monsters are the ones we create”.

After what feels like an incredibly long wait, Netflix has finally released the first trailer for its live-action version of The Witcher, starring Superman’s Henry Cavill as the White Wolf.

As we explained yesterday, this series is based on Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s popular line of fantasy novels, rather than the video games, including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – which is coming to the Nintendo Switch later this year.

  • Cyberpunk 2077 Will Dance in the Dark without Lady Gaga

    Judas.

Cyberpunk 2077 fans had been hoping for a Bad Romance, with rumours of Lady Gaga joining the project as both a cast member and one of its composers. CD Projekt RED, however, has maintained its Poker Face on the subject – until now. Speaking with WCCFTech, user interface co-ordinator Alvin Liu admitted that while the superstar would fit right in with the hotly anticipated role-playing game, she won’t be included.

To be fair, the developer could just be dancing around the subject, as the artist was snapped by Paparazzi at the studio’s Warsaw offices earlier in the year. It’s already landed John Wick icon Keanu Reeves for the game, so there’s no question that the company has serious celebrity pull these days. We’re still holding out hope for this collaboration – but at this point we’ll be Speechless if it actually happens.

  • June 2019 NPD: Days of Play Does the Business for PS4

    Massive increase for PS4 exclusives.

Sony’s annual Days of Play promotion has become a big part of the PlayStation calendar, with a surprising number of exclusive titles making the June 2019 NPD software best-sellers list. Discounted favourites such as Marvel’s Spider-Man, Days Gone, MLB The Show 19, and God of War all made the month’s Top 20 in the United States – with Insomniac Games’ superhero smash hit occupying seventh place.

The period was dominated by the Super Mario Maker 2 and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled double-header, in a month that saw software sales largely flat year-over-year. Hardware, however, was down 33 per cent year-over-year – perhaps owing to the point in the generation. As a result, overall industry spend is down four per cent when compared to the same period in 2018.

  • Dell’s Black Friday in July Mega Deals end today with huge £420 price cut for the XPS 13

Dell’s Black Friday in July event runs all month, but today is the last day of its “Mega Deals” promotion – but it’s ending in style by knocking an incredible £420 off the Dell XPS 13 (2019), which in our view is the best laptop money can buy right now.

That drops the price of Dell’s flagship ultrabook to £999 – which is easily one of the best prices we’ve seen for the new laptop.

If that’s still a bit too expensive, then don’t worry, as Dell has some other compelling deals on more affordable laptops as well.

The Dell XPS 13 deal has now sold out. Check out these other great Dell XPS 13 deals:

These deals end 11:59 tonight, July 19, and as we mentioned above, today marks the end of Dell’s Mega Sales event – so don’t hang around if you see a deal you like, as this could be your last chance!

  • Senegal vs Algeria live stream: how to watch African Cup of Nations 2019 final online from anywhere

Senegal vs Algeria live stream: how to watch African Cup of Nations 2019 final online from anywhere

A tournament of giant killings, dramatic finishes and great goals, the 2019 African Cup of Nations has lived up to all expectations. Tonight’s final now has the makings of being a classic. And you can watch every kick from anywhere on Earth – with this dedicated Senegal vs Algeria live stream guide

Senegal, who have never won the competition previously, go into the game as favourites with Betfair, having conceded just one goal in the 2019 tournament so far. While Algeria, who reached the final with a dramatic last gasp Riyad Mahrez free kick, will be aiming to win the tournament for the fist time since their triumph as hosts in 1990.

Key to Senegal’s march to the final has been its water-tight defence, but that solidity may have been dealt a blow. Man mountain centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly is suspended after picking up a harsh booking in their semi-final against Tunisia.

Algeria have a 100% record to protect following their dramatic win over Nigeria, with only the Ivory Coast taking them beyond normal time and into penalties. Like Senegal, Algeria also have a significant absentee at the back, with steady first choice right-back Youcef Atal ruled out with a fractured collarbone.

The two teams met in the group stages, with Algeria winning 1-0 thanks to a second-half Youcef Belaili strike. Algeria have proved to be something of a perennial bogey team for Senegal, having won only 4 of their 13 encounters, with their opponents edging the head-to-head with five victories.

Will Liverpool forward Sadio Mane make it a perfect summer by leading Senegal to their first AFCON title to go alongside winning the Champions League, or will Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez add an AFCON winners medal to his Premier League Champions one for Man City?

Don’t miss any of the action from today’s game by reading our our Senegal vs Algeria African Cup of Nations 2019 final live stream guide below.
