    Moonwalkers Trailer

“Do you really want to go back to your boss and tell him that you don’t have Stanley Kubrick and you don’t have the money?” Alchemy has released the first trailer for Antoine Bardou-Jacquet’s Moonwalkers, a comedy about a CIA agent and a rock manager who team up and try to find Stanley Kubrick in order to fake the moon landings. I initially labeled this as an alternate history, but realized it’s actually more of a funky comedy about what could’ve been happening down on Earth while the real moon landing was taking place. Ron Perlman and Rupert Grint star, with Robert Sheehan. There’s a really fresh, original, very 60s vibe to this that makes it much more interesting than most of the comedies we see these days. Enjoy it. ›››

The Portokalos Family is Back in 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2' Trailer

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 Trailer

“And my family is still too close.” Universal has debuted the first trailer for the long-awaited sequel of all sequels, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, directed by Kirk Jones. If you recall, the original My Big Fat Greek Wedding was a huge hit with the adults, and played in theaters for months wracking up a massive $241 million at the box office during its run in 2002. Maybe they’re hoping this will do just as well? The cast includes John Corbett and Nia Vardalos, once again, with Rita Wilson, John Stamos, Alex Wolff, Mark Margolis, Lainie Kazan & Joey Fatone. If you’ve been waiting 13 years for this, well, have at it. ›››

  • Second Trailer for Coast Guard Film 'The Finest Hours' with Chris Pine

Second Trailer for Coast Guard Film 'The Finest Hours' with Chris Pine

    The Finest Hours Trailer

“Every fella here wants to live, the only way that happens is if we work together!” Disney has debuted a second trailer for The Finest Hours, the Coast Guard drama starring Chris Pine as a young member of the Coast Guard who goes on a daring rescue in the 1950s. This trailer is timed for release on Veteran’s Day in the United States, though this is more than just a story about dedicated, hard-working veterans. The full cast includes Ben Foster, Eric Bana, Holliday Grainger and Graham McTavish. This looks like a very intense, very riveting story of an incredible rescue at sea. I’m quite interested to see how it all plays out. ›››

Watch: First Trailer for Terence Davies' Period Drama 'Sunset Song'

    Sunset Song

“I am not frightened of you!” The official UK trailer has debuted for Terence Davis’ new period romantic drama Sunset Song, about a daughter of a Scottish farmer coming of age during the early 1900s. Agyness Deyn stars as Chris Guthrie, and it’s told as a sort of a triptych, with one segment focusing on her abusive father, the next when she meets and falls in love and eventually marries Ewan, played by Kevin Guthrie; finally, he goes off to fight in World War I and comes back shellshocked and violent, resembling her father. The cast includes Peter Mullan, Jack Greenlees, Niall Greig Fulton and Ian Pirie. This looks very powerful. ›››

  • Netflix Throws Their Support Behind Bong Joon-ho's New Film 'Okja'

Netflix Throws Their Support Behind Bong Joon-ho's New Film 'Okja'

    Bong Joon-ho

Netflix is movin’ on up to the big leagues. Netflix has announced (via The Wrap) that they are partnering with Brad Pitt‘s production company, Plan B Entertainment, to develop the next film from Bong Joon-ho, the “creature feature” titled Okja. We’ve already been hearing about casting for Okja throughout this past year, and now it’s moving forward with Netflix backing it up to the tune of $50 million. Part of the attraction is the cast – Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Kelly Macdonald and Bill Nighy, as well as Tilda Swinton; though the lead character is actually a young Korean girl who befriends a monster with “a kind spirit” named Okja. ›››

  • First Trailer for Pixar's Sequel 'Finding Dory' Just Keeps Swimming

First Trailer for Pixar's Sequel 'Finding Dory' Just Keeps Swimming

    Finding Dory Trailer

“My family! They’re out there!” Disney-Pixar has debuted the first charming trailer for the long-awaited sequel to 2003’s Finding Nemo, titled Finding Dory. Marlin and Nemo and their new friend Dory are still friends, but this time it’s Dory who ends up lost, as she just kept (sleep) swimming in an attempt to find her family and now they can’t find her. I love the original Finding Nemo and this already looks like an amusing follow-up that isn’t pushing the story too far from the characters we love. The voice cast includes Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Idris Elba, Dominic West, Diane Keaton, Ty Burrell and others. I’m sure there are more characters we’ll meet down the line, including Dory’s parents. Jump back in the water below. ›››

Watch: Google's Animated Doodle for Actress Hedy Lamarr's Birthday

    Hedy Lamarr

Well this is lovely. Google decided to celebrate the 101st birthday of Inventor and Hollywood star, Hedy Lamarr, on Monday, November 9th. This would have been her 101st birthday; she passed away in the year 2000 at the age of 85. She was never nominated for any Academy Awards, but Hedy Lamarr became a very popular and beloved movie star in the late 1930s and through the 1940s because of her beauty. Louis B. Mayer at MGM found her in Europe after fleeing the war, and changed her name to Hedy Lamarr, as she was originally born as Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler in Austria. She has become popular recently because aside from her career in Hollywood, she was a scientist and inventor behind a jam-proof radio guidance system. ›››

See the Trailer for Freaky Danish Found Footage Film 'Encounters'

    Encounters Trailer

The woods have secrets. This looks freaky. Yes, the found footage trend is slowing down, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t still intriguing found footage films being made. This one is a horror called Encounters, supposedly Denmark’s first found footage film. It was released in Denmark back in late 2014, but is just now hitting digital release and possibly coming to US theaters later in 2016. Similar to Blair Witch, the concept is that a group of people go into the woods and don’t come back, but their footage is found. There’s some weird stuff with a mask in this trailer, and the voiceover is odd, but it’s all to setup the story. The final 30 seconds of this trailer is all the really good footage of crazy weird shit, and some solid FX work. Take a look. ›››

Watch: First Trailer for Deep Space Psychological Sci-Fi '400 Days'

    400 Days Trailer

“This is some simulation.” There’s a new trailer for a science fiction film called 400 Days, but it’s actually a Syfy Film that is getting a full theatrical release in January. Turned out better than they were hoping, maybe? 400 Days is from writer/director Matt Osterman and is about a “social experiment” where a small crew of astronauts embarks on a deep space mission to another planet where the travel time is 400 days. Essentially, can they live together in isolation in deep space for that long? The feature film stars Brandon Routh and Caity Lotz, Ben Feldman, comedian Dane Cook, Tom Cavanaugh and Grant Bowler. This definitely looks Syfy cheesy at times, and overly horrific by the end, but I’m still curious to check it out. ›››
