See a New Trailer for the 4K Restoration of Action Classic 'Highlander'

    Highlander Restoration Trailer

“There can be only one!” He’s back! Studiocanal UK is planning freshly restored, high def 4K re-release of the action classic Highlander, to celebrate its 30th anniversary since it was originally released in 1986. Christopher Lambert stars as Connor MacLeod, an immortal Scottish swordsman who must confront the last of his immortal opponents to claim the “Prize”. This is an action classic that many regard as one of their favorite action films, and it was already re-released as a Director’s Cut a few years ago. But there’s nothing like seeing your favorite film from the 80’s restored and looking better than ever. It’s also good to take your mind off the reboot/remake/sequels and just enjoy the original again. Plus – Sean Connery. Enough said. ›››

  • First Trailer for Indian Sex Comedy 'Brahman Naman' from Sundance

First Trailer for Indian Sex Comedy 'Brahman Naman' from Sundance

    Brahman Naman Trailer

“At least she spoke to you face-to-face.” Netflix has unveiled a trailer for a film called Brahman Naman, an indie coming-of-age sex comedy set in the 80’s in India. Actor Shashank Arora plays Naman, a witty, nerdy kid at Bangalore University who spends most of his time on the quizzing circuit with his two friends Ajay and Ramu, played by Tanmay Dhanania and Chaitanya Varad. The three of them want nothing more than to lose their virginity and try their hardest to make it happen. This looks kooky and hilarious, and seems to be a refreshingly unique take on the typical coming-of-age comedy. And it’s in English. Have fun! ›››

  • What Are We Eating? Full Trailer for 'At the Fork' Food Documentary

What Are We Eating? Full Trailer for 'At the Fork' Food Documentary

    At the Fork Documentary

A Film About Husbandry and Wife. An official trailer has debuted for a documentary called At the Fork, another documentary examining the food we eat and specifically the animals raised en mass for food. Don’t worry, though, this one isn’t about to make you feel ashamed for eating a hamburger or some bacon, it’s a “surprisingly non-judgemental” look at our food and where it all comes from. This is a very beautiful trailer with some fantastic cinematography that sets up the story in this film. The doc features the song “Mercy” performed by the Dave Matthews Band (but it’s not in the trailer). I recommend taking a look at this trailer. ›››

More Ghosts in a New Japanese Trailer for Paul Feig's 'Ghostbusters'

    Ghostbusters International Trailer

“Who’s in the mood to save New York City?” Sony Pictures Japan has release a new international trailer for Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, which hits theaters in late July. We’ve already seen at least two trailers for this remake reboot so far, and fans have been arguing about them ever since. This latest trailer has a few more ghosts in it and some extra footage to check out. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones star, along with Chris Hemsworth as their secretary. Slimer makes an appearance in this, as does the big redux marshmallow man (in the teaser image above). I like the editing in this trailer, it makes this seem like this might be more entertaining than the other trailers have shown. Fire this up below. ›››

  • Watch: Offbeat Comedy Short 'You Are Whole' Directed by Laura Spini

Watch: Offbeat Comedy Short 'You Are Whole' Directed by Laura Spini

    You Are Whole Short Film

“Do you ever suffer from feelings of weariness?” It’s time to feature another excellent short film. This one is called You Are Whole, and it’s written and directed by Laura Spini, playing at numerous film festivals all over the world before landing online. The short stars well-known actor Fred Melamed as a spiritualist missionary who becomes mistaken for a serial killer in a sleepy British seaside town. This takes a bit to get going, but it’s pretty good. The comedy is dark but intelligent and she nailed the casting with Melamed. It’s the kind of short that makes you think more than anything. Looking forward to seeing Spini make a feature. ›››

One More Full-Length Trailer for Kevin Smith's Wacky 'Yoga Hosers'

    Yoga Hosers Trailer

“Ms. Wicklund, this isn’t the real world.” “This is Canada.” Another new full-length trailer has debuted for Kevin Smith’s latest feature, a goofy twisted horror comedy of sorts called Yoga Hosers. This stars Smith’s own daughter Harley Quinn Smith plus Johnny Depp’s daughter, Lily-Rose Melody Depp, and the two play teenage yoga enthusiasts from Winnipeg who unearth some weird ancient Nazi evil and must battle a sausage army. It’s as totally wacky as it sounds. The full cast includes Johnny Depp, Haley Joel Osment, Kevin Conroy, Jason Mewes, Justin Long, and Vanessa Paradis. This trailer gives away most of the film, including some of the final battle and one of the big cameos, but hey, at least it’s free to watch. Enjoy. ›››

  • Watch: New Trailer for 'Down By Love' Starring Adele Exarchopoulos

Watch: New Trailer for 'Down By Love' Starring Adele Exarchopoulos

    Down By Love Trailer

“Do you believe in destiny? An official trailer has premiered for Pierre Godeau’s Down By Love, a French film starring actress Adele Exarchopoulos made famous by starring in Blue is the Warmest Color (she won the Most Promising Actress Cesar Award in 2014). Exarchopoulos plays a inmate at a prison, and the story profiles her and the prison warden falling in love. It’s obviously a trick topic and apparently it’s based on a true story, which makes this even more interesting to see turned into a movie. Guillaume Gallienne stars with Stéphanie Cléau. This trailer has English subtitles to help understand the story. Take a look. ›››

  • First Teaser for Ryan Gregory Phillips' Indie Sci-Fi Thriller 'Shortwave'

First Teaser for Ryan Gregory Phillips' Indie Sci-Fi Thriller 'Shortwave'

    Shortwave Trailer

“They’re here.” The teaser trailer has debuted for an indie sci-fi psychological thriller called Shortwave, directed by Ryan Gregory Phillips, and produced by the same people who made the indie horror hit The Invitation. The film is based on a theory of the origins of shortwave radio frequencies, and the more they investigate, the more weird things start to happen. The cast includes Cristobal Tapia Montt, Juanita Ringeling, and Kyle Davis, along with music by the indie band Mantaraybryn. This teaser is visually appealing and quite thrilling, with so many crazy shots that will make you wonder what the heck is going on. I can’t tell if this has aliens or monsters or something else (or none of the above) but they got my attention. ›››

    Counter Clockwise Trailer

“You ever do that? Visual something about the future…” Check out this trailer for a very small independent film called Counter Clockwise, an example of compelling sci-fi being made on a shoestring budget. The film is sci-fi thriller meets dark comedy about a scientist who accidentally invents time travel and is zapped six months into the future. He finds himself in a twisted time where his wife and sister are murdered and he’s the main suspect. It kind of has a Brick meets Primer vibe to it, and I’m quite interested to see the entire thing. Lots of fancy panning shots. Starring Michael Kopelow, Devon Ogden, Kerry Knuppe, Joy Rinaldi, Caleb Brown and Frank Simms. Give it a look below and tell us if you’re intrigued as well. ›››

Trailer for 'Man vs Snake: The Long and Twisted Tale of Nibbler' Doc

Man vs Snake: The Long and Twisted Tale of Nibbler

“I don’t like to brag, but… I don’t think there’s a player in the world that could’ve beat me.” FilmBuff has debuted a trailer for a documentary called Man vs Snake: The Long and Twisted Tale of Nibbler, featuring some funky animation to tell the story of arcade gamer and high score record holder Tim McVey. Following in the footsteps of other arcade game docs like The King of Kong and Chasing Ghosts, this is less about the actual game of Nibbler (also known as Snake) and more about the gamer who was/is obsessed with setting (and maintaining) the highest score. I love that this apparently has its own theme song (“Man versus Snake!!”) and man does this trailer do a good job of selling it. I want to watch! Don’t skip this trailer. ›››
