First Trailer for Joe Begos' Psychokinetic Horror Film 'The Mind's Eye'

    The Mind's Eye Trailer

Whoa! RLJ Entertainment has released a crazy first trailer for Joe Begos’ new body-horror / psychological thriller The Mind’s Eye, which won Best Horror Director at Fantastic Fest last year. Graham Skipper plays Zack Connors, and Lauren Ashley Carter plays Rachel Meadows, two people born with “incredible psychokinetic capabilities” who are hunted by a doctor that wants to harvest their powers. The cast includes John Speredakos, Larry Fessenden, Noah Segan and Matt Mercer. The film has been described as an homage to the early films of David Cronenberg and Brian De Palma, and the poster has a quote calling it “the best Scanners sequel we never got.” This definitely looks trippy and weird, and perfect for a late night. ›››

    All Eyez on Me Trailer

“Above all else, to thine own self be true. Now, let me see your spirit.” Open Road has debuted a teaser trailer for the biopic All Eyez on Me, which profiles the life of successful American rapper Tupac “2Pac” Shakur. The trailer has been released on what would’ve been Shakur’s 45th birthday, and teases some of the scenes we’ll see from his life. Demetrius Shipp Jr. plays the late musician, who became one of the most accomplished rappers before he was killed in a drive by shooting at the age of 25. The title of a film is the same as Tupac’s fourth album, regarded one of his best. There are some cool shots in this, could be good. ›››

Review: Rawson Thurber's 'Central Intelligence' is Seriously Funny

    Central Intelligence Review

Dwayne Johnson (formerly known as wrestler “The Rock”) has solidified himself as a global box-office powerhouse, with numerous box office hits over these last few years. In 2001, he starred in The Mummy Returns, which grossed more than $400 million worldwide. Universal Pictures immediately planned a spin-off based on his character, The Scorpion King, which broke a few box office records in 2002. Since then, Johnson has starred in dozens of movies, including the enormously successful Fast and the Furious franchise, San Andreas, Pain & Gain, and Hercules. With this year’s buddy comedy Central Intelligence, however, Johnson has found the perfect vehicle to flex his comedic muscles, as well as his ass-kicking ones. ›››

Second Trailer for Animated 'Storks' Movie Directed by Nicholas Stoller

    Storks Trailer

“You’re probably asking yourself how a stork, a girl, and a baby wound up in this situation?” WB has unveiled a new trailer for their animated comedy Storks, written & co-directed by Nicholas Stoller, behind the films Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, Neighbors and Neighbors 2. The movie is about a company that used to delivered storks that has since become a major .com delivery giant, and the workers who decide to deliver a baby. The voice cast features Andy Samberg as the voice of Junior, as well as Kelsey Grammer, Jennifer Aniston, Ty Burrell, Key and Peele, plus Katie Crown as Tulip. This actually looks much better than expected, but I’m still not sure if it’ll compare to Pixar of Disney. Have fun. ›››

Hints in TV Spots for 'Jason Bourne' About the Iron Hand Program

    Jason Bourne TV Spots

“The world is at war. We need the perfect weapon.” Universal has released at least three new action-packed TV spots to promote the upcoming late summer release of Jason Bourne, bringing back Matt Damon as Bourne and Paul Greengrass as director. All the footage we’ve seen for this so far looks pretty damn good, and these latest spots tease even more of the plot. The full cast includes Alicia Vikander, Julia Stiles, Tommy Lee Jones, Vincent Cassel and Riz Ahmed. One of the TV spots seen below drops a big hint about the “Iron Hand Program”, which Nicky describes as “even worse than before”. It seems Vincent Cassel is a part of that program, but we don’t know much else about it yet. I’m really looking forward to seeing this. ›››

    The Academy of Muses

“You taught me to be passionate. Above everything, to be literarily passionate.” Hello there. Grasshopper Film has released an official US trailer for Spanish director José Luis Guerín’s newest feature film The Academy of Muses. Described as “part relationship drama, part intellectual discourse, the film centers on a philology professor — played by actual philology professor Raffaele Pinto” as he teaches a course on muses in art and literature, while romancing the women around him in his class and his life. This seems like a very thoughtful but very fascinating look at romance and relationships, and could be categorized as more experimental/artistic cinema than anything. Not for everyone, but it looks like this film has plenty to say. ›››

  • Official Trailer for Holocaust Drama 'Denial' Starring Rachel Weisz

Official Trailer for Holocaust Drama 'Denial' Starring Rachel Weisz

    Denial Trailer

“I’m not attacking freedom of speech. I’ve been defending my right to stand up against someone who wants to pervert the truth.” What if you had to prove the Holocaust actually happened? That’s the story behind this film, titled Denial, telling the true story of writer and historian Deborah E. Lipstadt’s fight to clear her name when she’s sued for libel by a Holocaust denier. Rachel Weisz stars as Lipstadt, along with Timothy Spall as the denier David Irving, and a cast including Andrew Scott, Tom Wilkinson, Mark Gatiss and Harriet Walter. This actually looks very strong, and quite compelling overall, thanks to what seem to be excellent performances and a script by the award-winning playwright David Hare. Check it out. ›››

Dave Johns stars as Daniel Blake, an aging man living in the UK who must file for pension and benefits from the country after losing his job. He befriends a new neighbor, Katie played by Hayley Squires, a single mother having trouble making ends meet. It’s a strong film with very poignant commentary on the social-political troubles arising in the UK at the moment. Tom Cruise Returns in First Trailer for 'Jack Reacher: Never Go Back'

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Trailer

“We’re on the run for this entire movie.” Paramount has unveiled the first trailer for the sequel Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, directed by Edward Zwick, bringing back Tom Cruise in the role of Jack Reacher, a character invented by author Lee Child. He’s joined by actress Cobie Smulders, along with a cast including Robert Knepper, Aldis Hodge and Holt McCallany. I like the cold opening of this, with Reacher in the small diner talking back to some cops. From there it gets much more interesting, and for some reason I’m a bit more excited to see this sequel than I ever was the original. Maybe it’s the way Zwick directs, as I almost always enjoy his films no matter what. Take a look below and let us know your thoughts. ›››

    Assassin's Creed Featurette

“The Assassin’s Creed universe is a cinematic experience – the action sequences are massive…” Fox has released the new featurette originally shown during E3 for the video game adaptation Assassin’s Creed, starring Michael Fassbender as Aguilar. This has been in the works for a while and is being prepped for a Christmas release. While there are interviews with Fassbender and director Justin Kurzel, neither of them talk about overcoming the stigma of being a video game adaptation, which is still an issue especially after Warcraft. Instead, they focus on talking up how exciting the movie will be and how “massive” it all looks. Which is great, but I wish they would talk more about all of these challenges. That said, this still looks cool. ›››
