  • Hyrule's Funniest Home Videos — The Best Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild

Even a year later, it’s not uncommon to come across astonishing videos of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Nintendo created a game with an incredible series of interlinking systems that can result in all sorts of weird, fun, and wild stuff. And where there’s a world where hijinks can ensue, there must be silly and funny video recordings.

Rather than convince you that you can ride a Guardian or something of the sort again this year, we’ve instead gone a different route for April Fools’ Day. We present to you Hyrule’s Funniest Home Videos–a take on the long-running clip show, featuring some of our favorite moments from Breath of the Wild. We even have our own spin on the theme song–sorry in advance that it’ll be stuck in your head later.

You can watch the full video above. Be sure to share your own favorite Breath of the Wild moments with us as well. Sadly, many of the best may have been lost, as Nintendo didn’t enable Switch’s built-in video capture feature until late in 2017, and the Wii U version doesn’t offer that at all. Still, there’s been no shortage of cool and delightful stuff to come out of the game, as we think the video highlights.

  • Wrestlemania: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Retired 15 years ago

It may seem hard to believe, but it has been 15 years since “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s final wrestling match at Wrestlemania 19 on March 30, 2003. In the bout, Austin went toe-to-toe with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson–the third meeting between the two at WWE’s biggest show of the year.

That match put a cap on a WWE in-ring career that spanned nearly a decade and included six reigns as WWE World Champion. While he may not have been able to perform as long as names like John Cena and The Undertaker, there’s no doubting Austin is one of the most important–if not the most important–figures in WWE history.

It’s the feud between the Texas Rattlesnake and Vince McMahon that catapulted WWE’s Attitude Era to success against WCW during the Monday Night Wars, and it’s Austin’s matches against the likes of Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Triple H, and The Rock that made him a household name and one of the most popular figures in professional wrestling history.

That’s what makes his match at Wrestlemania 19 so fitting. In a black leather vest emblazoned with the letters OMR, which stand for One More Round, Austin made his way to the ring for one final confrontation with arguably his greatest in-ring opponent–and the only man who could give him a run for his money in terms of popularity–The Rock.

The story told in the buildup to the match was practically perfect and a textbook example of how to promote a Wrestlemania feud. After losing to Austin at Wrestlemania 15 and 17, The Rock was now on his way to becoming a movie star outside of wrestling. However, he couldn’t move on until he finally beat Austin once and for all on the grandest stage of them all.

Theirs was the sort of blood feud that is largely missing from wrestling today. In a world where AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura are going to Wrestlemania 34 to put on a dream match that will no doubt be an incredible sight to see, Austin and Rock made their issues personal each and every time. There’s no better example than this match between the two at Wrestlemania 19, which you can watch above.

It remains to be seen whether Rock or Austin will be involved in Wrestlemania 34. Both have made sporadic appearances over the years as their careers outside of wrestling continue to grow. That said, whether they show up or not, this is a match that will go down in history as one of Wrestlemania’s best.

Wrestlemania 34 airs live on April 8 on the WWE Network. Take a look at GameSpot’s comprehensive coverage of the show, including the full match card, predictions on who will walk out a winner, and everybody going into the WWE Hall of Fame.

  • How To See Persona 5's Anime In The US: Streaming Details And Premiere Date

The anime adaptation of last year’s acclaimed RPG Persona 5 now has a premiere date for the United States. The premiere is scheduled for April 7, the same day it will air in Japan.

Persona 5: The Animation follows the same premise as the game. It begins with the protagonist–named Ren Amamiya–transferring to Shujin Academy. • The GTA 5 Lindsay Lohan Lawsuit Has Been Rejected Again

An appeal from actress Lindsay Lohan in her lawsuit against Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive, which alleged her likeness was used in Grand Theft Auto V, has been dismissed in the New York Court of Appeals. The lawsuit dates back to 2014 and was initially thrown out in 2016 before Lohan appealed.

The lawsuit claimed GTA V’s character Lacey Jonas is an “unequivocal” reference to Lohan. In the initial ruling, the court stated that “[e]ven if we accept plaintiffs’ contentions that the video game depictions are close enough to be considered representations of the respective plaintiffs, plaintiffs’ claims should be dismissed because this video game does not fall under the statutory definitions of ‘advertising’ or ‘trade.’”

In the appeal, as spelled out by Gamasutra, the court concluded that “a computer generated image may constitute a portrait within the meaning of [Civil Rights Law sections 50 and 51]. We also conclude, however, that the subject images are not recognizable as plaintiff.”

In simpler terms, Lacey Jonas is not a likeness of Lohan, and that’s the final word.

GTA V launched in September 2013, but it’s still going strong. Developer Rockstar continues to support GTA Online weekly, and the game consistently tops the UK physical sales charts.

  • Wrestlemania 34: Shane McMahon's Falling Off Stuff Schtick Has To Stop

One of the most interesting aspects of covering professional wrestling is the ongoing attempt to separate truth from fiction. When I interview WWE superstars, I ask myself, “Are these the performers’ opinions or their characters’ opinions?” When a press release goes public, “Are its contents legitimate, or are they part of a meta-storyline that will lead to a match?” This deliberate blur is a key to wrestling’s appeal, but it’s also frustrating for people who want the unvarnished truth. Which brings us to Shane McMahon and his recent bout of health issues.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn attacked Shane on the March 13 episode of Smackdown. The beatdown started in the ring, and it continued into the backstage area. Owens and Zayn wrapped a chair around Shane’s head and slammed him into the ring post. They powerbombed him onto a metal riser. And afterwards, WWE released a statement addressing the attack: “He sustained a laryngeal contusion when the steel chair was wrapped around his head and thrown into the turnbuckle,” WWE medical staff said. “He was then thrown onto the metal rack, which resulted in trapezius and rhomboid strains.”

This seemed consistent with the scripted attack on the show. But then on March 26, WWE announced that Shane was now suffering diverticulitis. “Shane developed a massive infection due to acute diverticulitis and was hospitalized for several days in Antigua before being flown back to a New York-area hospital, where he is currently being treated with heavy doses of antibiotics,” explained WWE. “The doctors in New York have also discovered that Shane suffered an umbilical hernia during the attack, which will require surgery once the infection has been eradicated.”

What’s so interesting about this medical update is that it’s posted on the exact same site and reported with the same level of seriousness, as the storyline injuries. But the last sentence, about the newly discovered “umbilical hernia” suffered during the storyline attack, muddies the truth even further.

It would seem, with so many storyline injuries and real injuries, that Shane McMahon could not compete at Wrestlemania 34. But on the March 28 episode of Smackdown, Daniel Bryan announced that he and Shane would be taking on Owens and Zayn in a tag team match.

And that’s when it occurred to me, even though the feeling had been building for a bit: I don’t want to see Shane competing in this match if he’s just going to do what he always does: jump off tall stuff. It’s not fun anymore to watch him risk his life for what appears, on the surface at least, to be a midlife crisis, or a bizarre manner of currying favor with his father and sister.

In a Vice Sports article from 2016, Ian Frisch reported on a meeting that occurred between Shane McMahon, author James Frey, and Vince McMahon in March 2012, in which Shane proposed that he take over all of creative. At one point, Shane had also been an Executive Vice President of WWE, but he resigned his position in 2010 to pursue business opportunities in China. Now, he was returning to his family’s company for a piece of his legacy.

By doing so, he would undercut his sister, Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon, and his brother-in-law, Executive Vice President of Talent Paul Levesque (known by his wrestling name Triple H). And understandably, the two of them were beside themselves when they heard about this surprise meeting.

Vince declined the offer. And Shane did eventually return to appearing on camera in 2016–this time as an on-screen character. He was the commissioner of Smackdown, but he held no real executive authority; he was reciting scripted lines, just like everyone else. For someone who reportedly attempted a backdoor coup four years prior, this was a bizarre demotion. He once hoped to supplant his sister; now, he would be taking his marching orders from her. A casual observer might look at this and see an opportunist, lying in wait, for the right opportunity to seize power.

Because of this, Shane McMahon’s infamous daredevil stunts are increasingly awkward to watch. While he still held an executive position in WWE, his antics had a weird sort of heroism; he was risking his life for the good of the company–a company that he would one day be running.

But without that motivating factor, it smacks of desperation–like he’s trying to bleed his way back into a family business that he voluntarily left–not the other way around. He’s 48 years old, and he’s still cracking his ribs and suffering concussions–for no discernible end and no discernible purpose, other than to say that he can, and to feed off crowd chants like, “You still got it!” But it’s not like he ever had it to begin with. Shane still needs a skilled worker–like AJ Styles or Kevin Owens–to put on a good match.

Shane’s stunts do not meaningfully improve any match because 90% of the time, they are contextually separate from any story that match is telling. It’s just a freak show at this point; he might as well bite the head off a chicken while he’s at it. And moreover, he’s doing these stunts, where he could literally die, in front of his young kids. It reminds me of that scene in Beyond the Mat where Mick Foley’s crying kids watch him take close to a dozen unprotected chair shots to the head. But at least that was unplanned; Shane knows that he’s falling off the roof of Hell in a Cell. And his luck may run out eventually.

At Wrestlemania 34, Shane will have three of the best wrestlers in the company–Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Daniel Bryan–carry him to a decent match. But his actual contributions will be memorable for all the wrong reasons. He’s just going to jump off more tall stuff. Again. And if this is Shane’s convoluted strategy to make his way back to the executive table, he’s going to be very disappointed.

  • WWE Wrestlemania 34 Match Prediction: Reigns Vs. Lesnar

Roman Reigns is going to beat Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 34. This much we know, with near 100% certainty. Sorry to disappoint you.

There will be contrarian predictions over the next two weeks, but those predictions will be wrong. There will be no Seth Rollins plot swerve. There will be no eleventh-hour booking change by Vince McMahon. Lesnar won the WWE Universal title from Goldberg at Wrestlemania 33, and since then, he has defeated every other conceivable threat to his dominance. He defeated Samoa Joe. He defeated Braun Strowman. Reigns is the only viable opponent left. Reigns vs. Lesnar is a rematch of the two men’s Wrestlemania 31 main event, which creates narrative closure to their feud. It would be impossible to duplicate the same level of excitement on a smaller stage.

Reigns is also winning because the WWE writers painted themselves into a figurative corner. Brock Lesnar, according to the storyline, is a spoiled, entitled champion who doesn’t care about the fans, blows off scheduled appearances, and coasts on the hard work of younger, hungrier, full-time wrestlers. Roman Reigns, meanwhile, is the man who loves the fans and sacrifices his health and happiness to put smiles on their faces. WWE has sold fans on the following premise: that so long as Lesnar is champion, Monday Night Raw is worse off for it. To have Lesnar beat Reigns is a tacit admission that the show will continue to be bad.

There’s every reason to believe that Reigns vs. Lesnar will be fantastic. The last time they faced one another, Brock ended the evening with blood running down his face. Reigns didn’t, but of the two men, he arguably got hurt more. Brock’s moves were stiffer than usual that evening; a particularly vicious lariat sent Reigns crashing off the apron. Reigns took so many German suplexes that Lesnar improvised a meme–“Suplex City, b***h!”–around it.

The more WWE makes Reigns physically suffer, the more people cheer him instead of boo him. You can see the exact moment the tide shifts during Wrestlemania 31, when Reigns is rolling on the ground in pain, laughing like a long-haired, greased-up Tyler Durden. This past year, Strowman threw Reigns into tables, hurled him against an ambulance and shoved him into any hard, unforgiving surface nearest to them. The crowds ate it up. And most recently on the March 19 episode of Raw, Lesnar beat Reigns with a steel chair before tipping over his stretcher.

Beating Reigns to a pulp satisfies multiple audiences in multiple ways. His fans empathize with his pain. His haters love to see him suffer. And everyone loves a good beatdown. The YouTube videos of Reigns getting pulverized are some of the most watched videos on WWE’s official channel.

Love him or hate him, one positive factor about Roman Reigns is indisputable: he is quite possibly the most durable man on the roster. The man can take a hard beating and keep coming back for more. Even his most venomous critics can concede that. Hurting Reigns to get him over isn’t a viable long-term strategy–he’ll have a truncated career if he keeps hurling himself into metal objects– but it might work in the short term for Wrestlemania 34.

Reigns is winning on April 8, and he’s going to earn the Universal Championship the hard way. Perhaps, that’ll be enough for the majority of fans to finally get on board with him.

  • WWE Wrestlemania 34: Full Rumor And Surprise Roundup

WWE Wrestlemania 34: Full Rumor And Surprise Roundup

Wrestlemania is quickly approaching. The 34th annual installment of WWE’s biggest event of the year takes place on Sunday, April 8, coming to the Superdome in New Orleans. The match card for the event is still being filled out, and there is room for a few more matches.

That being said, there are plenty of rumors drifting around the ‘net about additional matches, future plans for wrestlers, and surprise returns of injured wrestlers. One longstanding rumor that came true this past week was Daniel Bryan being cleared to wrestling once again. What else could come true? We rounded up some of the most believable ones coming from wrestling insiders.

    No Caption Provided

Take these rumors with a grain of salt as not all rumors end up coming true. We’ll be updating piece throughout the upcoming weeks to let you know what’s confirmed and what we heard wrong.

    Daniel Bryan’s Future

Daniel Bryan has to go in for medical testing after every match. While many are saying Daniel Bryan is the healthiest star in the company, part of the superstar’s new agreement requires him to get a doctor’s evaluation after every match. (via Cagesideseats) It’s pretty obvious that he’ll be teaming up with Shane McMahon to take on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. The supposed stipulation for the match will be a street fight or unsanctioned match. (via Ringsidenews)

Owens and Zayn Will Remain Fired

In addition, Owens and Zayn–who were “fired” on the March 20 episode of Smackdown–may remained fired until after Wrestlemania, where they will be drafted by Raw. (via Ringsidenews)

    Is AJ Styles Injured?

There have been rumors that WWE Champion AJ Styles is injured. While there is no confirmation as to whether or not that is true, AJ Styles said in a recent interview that he will be at Wrestlemania, no matter what anyone else claims. (via Catch-Newz)

[UPDATE 3/26] Over the weekend, AJ Styles wrestled at Smackdown house shows, so he seems good to go for his match with Shinsuke Nakamura. As of this writing, there has been no news regarding his mysterious injury he allegedly suffered recently.

    When Will Cena/Taker Be Announced?

John Cena won’t get an official Wrestlemania match until days before the event. We all know the Undertaker will fight Cena at this year’s event, but Taker has not answered Cena’s call. Apparently, the confirmation for this match won’t come until the Raw before Wrestlemania on April 2. (via Cagesideseats)

    Big Cass Will Return

Remember Big Cass? He’s been injured since Summerslam last year, and apparently, Cass has been telling people his leg has healed up, and he’s cleared to wrestle again. It’s unclear if he’ll be at Wrestlemania this year, even if it’s just for a quick spot in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal. If not Wrestlemania, then Cass could return at Raw the next night. (via PWInsider)

    WWE’s Plans For Asuka

Get ready for a long Asuka run. She’s a shoe-in to win the championship at Wrestlemania against Charlotte, and the plan is for her to defend it for a year, leading to Wrestlemania 35 where she takes on Ronda Rousey. (via WrestlingNews)

    The Rivalry Isn’t Over

According to wrestling insider Dave Meltzer, Gargano vs. Ciampa will happen at Takeover: New Orleans. (via Twitter)

The Greatest Royal Rumble On WWE Network

Apparently, the Greatest Royal Rumble, an event taking place on April 27 in Saudi Arabia, will appear on the WWE Network. The 50-man rumble match was promoted on the WWE Network when you try to cancel your subscription. GameSpot attempted this but saw no such promotion on the cancellation page. (via Twitter)

[UPDATE 3/26] WWE detailed that John Cena will be taking on Triple H at the Greatest Royal Rumble, and both the Intercontinental and Raw Tag Team Championships will be on the line for the event. Also, Samoa Joe is advertised for the event. Does this mean he’ll make his return at Wrestlemania, the Raw after Mania, or will this event be his first show back? Tickets for the event–which takes place in Saudi Arabia–go on sale on March 31.

    Hulkamania To Run Wild Again?

Hulk Hogan hasn’t been a part of WWE since July 2015, but that could change. Hogan is allegedly in talks with WWE to make his return. As to what he would do in WWE is the real question. With Shane McMahon spending less time on tv and Daniel Bryan going back to wrestling, there are a couple of positions open on Smackdown for a new commissioner or general manager. At this time, WWE stated it does not have a contract with Hogan but it has confirmed it’s spoken with him. (via PWInsider)

[UPDATE 3/26] There are plenty of rumors revolving around where Hulk Hogan will fit in WWE if he returns. He’s allegedly going to become Smackdown General Manager as Daniel Bryan will go back to wrestling full time. WWE has not released any additional statements regarding Hogan’s status.

We’ll learn if more of these rumors are true during Wrestlemania weekend, which takes place April 6-8.

  • WWE's Daniel Bryan's Comeback Gets Him Powerbombed

While some storylines in wrestling blur the lines between reality and fiction, the absence of Daniel Bryan from in-ring action has been very much a real-life ordeal. After sustaining multiple concussions, which led to seizures, Bryan was forced to retire in early 2016. Although he has been the Smackdown general manager since the summer of 2016, Bryan was not allowed to compete or fight at all in WWE. On the March 20 episode of Smackdown, Bryan announced his return to the world, only to very quickly be beaten to a pulp by aggravated superstars.

Daniel Bryan have a heartfelt speech on the Tuesday night show to let the world know that he’s been cleared to compete in the ring again. The emotionally charged segment had Bryan with tears in his eyes during the opening moments of Smackdown. It was a sincere, beautiful moment to share with fans.

However, this is WWE, and stories need to be told and friends need to be betrayed. Later in the evening, Bryan came out again to fire Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who beat up Smackdown commissioner Shane McMahon a week prior. Long story short, Zayn and Owens were not pleased, and they powerbombed Bryan on the ring apron after an in-ring assault.

While this is seemingly all setting up a Wrestlemania match between Bryan and Shane McMahon taking on Owens and Zayn, what WWE did sensationally well with this segment was let Bryan play to the crowd. We got to see the “Yes Kicks,” Bryan’s dropkicks in the corner, and overall, it was an exceptionally exciting moment.

This was the first time Bryan has fought on television since April 26, 2016, when he and John Cena took on Cesaro and Tyson Kidd–another wrestler forced early into retirement because of injury. Bryan looked pretty good in the ring; however, the main worry is that Bryan will still use his high-risk, in-ring style which got him hurt in the first place. While there was nothing more exciting than seeing Bryan compete back in the ring, he has to play it safe for his latest run.
