Winter Is Coming In Fortnite’s Season 7

This morning Fortnite tweeted out a reminder that season 7 of the popular battle royale is coming in three days. The cryptic tweet includes the silhouette of what appears to be a crowned ice wraith, and the message “A bitter ice spreads… 3 days to season 7.”

Could Fortnite be channeling its inner Game of Thrones, which airs its final season in 2019? Could there be a possible Ice King skin from the popular animated series Adventure Time as @MikeDoww tweeted out? Or is this just another update celebrating the winter season as Fortnite did with season 6, honoring fall with spooky Halloween-themed gear?

Let us know what you think, and if you’re excited about the new season in the comments section below. And for more on the battle royale champ, be sure to check out our Fortnite news hub where we cover all the latest info from dance emote controversies to the latest skins

Where's Our Just Cause 4 Review?

Just Cause 4’s review embargo is now officially up, and tomorrow open-world fans will be able to jump into Rico Rodriguez’s latest island-destroying adventure for themselves. However, if you want to hear Game Informer’s final verdict before deciding whether to take the plunge or not, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. We only received review code for the console version of Just Cause 4 late last night, and as such are just now getting into the action.

While it will be a few days before I’m ready to share my thoughts on the game, you can expect a look at the Just Cause 4’s opening later today, courtesy of open-world shenanigans expert Leo Vader. I won’t be sitting in on the video so that I can focus on the review, but I’m guessing it will contain plenty of explosions to tide you over.

  • Firewatch Is Coming To Switch Later This Month

Firewatch Is Coming To Switch Later This Month

Developer Campo Santo recently announced that Firewatch is coming to Nintendo Switch later this month. By mid-December, you can take on the role of Henry as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness while on the go. You can, for example, hike while hiking virtually.

Campo Santo had previously teased earlier this year that it was working on a Nintendo Switch version, but no date was mentioned outside of hinting that it would be “soon.” The team has finally confirmed that it’ll be available on the Switch as of December 17.

  • Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Part 2 Gets First Teaser, Returns Next Spring

Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Part 2 Gets First Teaser, Returns Next Spring

A new trailer for the second season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has dropped, and it looks awesome. Sabrina made a lot of big changes last season and many were difficult choices. One in particular is setting her on a path of witchy darkness, which looks to be the focus of the next season.

She isn’t the only one sporting a new look and making big changes. We see glimpses of Rosalind and Harvey in what looks like a flirtatious encounter and aunt Hilda seems to have newfound confidence.

With the trailer to the tune of Cherry Bomb, we just can’t help but love it. For more on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, read about the upcoming holiday episode.

  • Reader Discussion: What Is Your Game Of The Lustrum?

Reader Discussion: What Is Your Game Of The Lustrum?

Here in the Game Informer offices, we have begun the 2018 Game of the Year discussions. It’s a tense time, and the competition this year is fierce, but we’re very practiced at it by now. We know how the process works, when and where to pick our battles, and when to apologize when we get unreasonably angry. This familiar time of the year prompted me to pause and reconsider something for a different ‘best of’ exercise.

What is your favorite game of the last five years. Adding four years to the time frame sets up competitions like Witcher III against Overwatch, or even surprising mash-ups like Sunset Overdrive versus Spider-Man.

If you need some help figuring out what came out when, you can follow the links for our 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 game of the year awards. This year, I assume, is already on your mind.

For me, it might be obvious, but it’s got to be The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There’s a reason I gave it a 10. Second place might be Inside. I still think about what transpired in that game almost once a week.

What about you? What do you think is that best game of the last five years?

Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee's Soundtrack Is Now Available On iTunes

Starting in 2013, Game Freak figured out it would probably be a good idea to start putting all of its Pokémon game soundtracks on iTunes. It must be working out pretty well for the developer, because it has generally been keeping up and releasing each of their games’ accompanying soundtracks online. Thankfully, Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee are no exception.

You can grab the soundtrack here for $9.99. For our review of Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, head here where Brian Shea said, “Town and battle themes have been reworked and sound great.”
