Official Trailer for Indie Comedy 'Benched' About Baseball Coach Dads

    Benched Trailer

“Whatever that was, it wudn’t baseball!” Gravitas Ventures has released the first official trailer for an indie comedy titled Benched, formerly known as Rounding Third while in production. This awkward, amusing comedy is about two little league baseball coach dads assigned to the same team who have to figure out how to work together, and train their team to win. This is one of those uplifting, feel-good, cheerful indie films about how enemies can become friends if you just learn to work together. John C. McGinley and Garret Dillahunt star, along with Jlynn Johnson, Graham Schneider, Keith Jamal Evans, Brogan Hall, Carter Wallace, Brennon Olsen, Brayden Chunn, Drake Light, and Caleb Coffey. This looks about as cheesy and as charming as you’re expecting, but maybe this is just what a few of us really need right now. ›››

  • Tye Sheridan in a Teaser Trailer for A.J. Edwards' Film 'Friday's Child'

Tye Sheridan in a Teaser Trailer for A.J. Edwards' Film 'Friday's Child'

    Friday Child Trailer

“You know what we call it?” A teaser trailer has debuted online for a film titled Friday’s Child, the latest feature from filmmaker A.J. Edwards, who worked for Terrence Malick as his editor before jumping into making his own films. Tye Sheridan stars as young drifter Richie, fresh out of foster care, trying to figure out what to do with himself. He ends up on the streets involved in petty crime and meets two other people: Joan, played by Imogen Poots, and Swim, played by Caleb Landry Jones. The film’s cast also includes Jeffrey Wright and Brett Butler. This looks like a very artsy, powerfully intimate film with some very intense cinematography by DP Jeff Bierman. The score in this trailer is superb, and the footage will pull you in – for whatever you may find in here. This is a good palette cleanser from all the recent Hollywood trailers. ›››

New TV Trailer for Shane Black's 'The Predator' Has a Bit More Footage

    The Predator TV Spot

“Why are you here?” “I had a run in with a space alien.” 20th Century Fox has debuted a new TV trailer, a 60-second spot, for Shane Black’s new The Predator movie. We only just got the very first teaser trailer for this a month ago, and it’s scheduled for release in September, so it’s good to see some more new footage here. The big reveal in this is that there’s a second Predator that appears out of nowhere at the end. What in the hell…? The ensemble cast is lead by Jacob Tremblay, who “accidentally triggers” their return to Earth again, along with Sterling K. Brown, Yvonne Strahovski, Olivia Munn, Lochlyn Munro, Thomas Jane, Boyd Holbrook, Jake Busey, Keegan-Michael Key, Niall Matter, Trevante Rhodes (from Moonlight), plus Edward James Olmos. Looks good. You might want to check this out – it’s a cool reveal. ›››

    First Man Trailer

“There are risks, but we have every intention of coming back.” Universal has unveiled the first official trailer for Damien Chazelle’s highly anticipated next film, titled First Man, a look at the life of astronaut Neil Armstrong leading up to his voyage on Apollo 11 and first steps on the moon in July of 1969. The film features sequences shot on IMAX cameras, as well as scenes shot on film, mixing different camera styles. Chazelle explains: “we wanted to tell the story about one of the most epic accomplishments in human history, but root it very much in the intimate and the day to day details of what it was actually like.” ›››

  • Entrancing US Trailer for Award-Winning Brazilian Road Movie 'Araby'

Entrancing US Trailer for Award-Winning Brazilian Road Movie 'Araby'

    Araby Trailer

“I’m like anybody else. It’s just my life that was a little bit different.” Grasshopper Films has released the official US trailer for an acclaimed Brazilian indie film titled Araby, originally titled Arábia in Portuguese. The film played at numerous big film festivals last year, and is a James Joyce-inspired Brazilian road movie. The film follows Andre, a young boy living in an industrial neighborhood in Ouro Preto, Brazil, near an old aluminum factory. One day he finds a notebook from one of the factory workers, which sets him off on a journey unlike any he has been on before. The film stars Murilo Caliari, Aristides de Sousa, Gláucia Vandeveld, Renata Cabral, and Renan Rovida. This looks like a very contemplative, engaging film that might offer up some unique and important wisdom about life. I quite like the music they use in this trailer. ›››

  • Freaky Official Trailer for Live-Streaming Horror Sequel '14 Cameras'

Freaky Official Trailer for Live-Streaming Horror Sequel '14 Cameras'

    14 Cameras Trailer

“It’s a little early to be so paranoid, don’t you think?” Gravitas Ventures has debuted an official trailer for an indie horror film titled 14 Cameras, a sequel to the “critically acclaimed” horror 13 Cameras that was first released in 2015. This follow-up is about a family that checks into a summer house for a vacation, only to soon discover that a series of spy cams have been installed by the nasty, creepy owner “documenting their most intimate moments and live-streaming them to the dark web.” The cast of this horror includes Neville Archambault, Amber Midthunder, Chelsea Edmundson, Brytnee Ratledge, Brianne Moncrief. This looks like every cliche and freaky spy cam horror trope thrown into one boring film. Really not for me. ›››

  • Jamie Lee Curtis is Back in First Trailer for DGG's 'Halloween' Movie

Jamie Lee Curtis is Back in First Trailer for DGG's 'Halloween' Movie

    Halloween Trailer

“He’s waited for this night. He’s waited for me.” Universal has released the first trailer for the new take on the Halloween horror franchise, titled simply Halloween (again). This highly anticipated sequel brings back Jamie Lee Curtis, who starred in the original 1978 film by John Carpenter as high school student Laurie Strode. At the helm of this new Halloween is filmmaker David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Your Highness, Prince Avalanche, Joe, Stronger), who co-wrote the screenplay with Danny McBride. The cast of this new one also includes Judy Greer, Virginia Gardner, Will Patton, Toby Huss, Miles Robbins, Jefferson Hall, Haluk Bilginer, Andi Matichak, with Nick Castle (who also starred in the original 1978 film) as Michael Myers. We don’t know much about the plot, except that it directly ties to the first film and is about Myers returning to home again. It’s a scary first look at this return of the horror icon. ›››

  • First Trailer for 'Damascus Cover' with Jonathan Rhys Meyers as a Spy

First Trailer for 'Damascus Cover' with Jonathan Rhys Meyers as a Spy

    Damascus Cover Trailer

“Lying to everyone is difficult – but my life depends on keeping the two worlds separate.” Vertical Ent. has debuted the first official trailer for a spy thriller titled Damascus Cover, starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers as an undercover agent working for the Mossad. He is sent to Syria to smuggle a chemical weapons scientist out of the country, but encounters many problems along the way including love and treason. The cast also includes Olivia Thirlby, John Hurt (before he passed away), Navid Negahban, Tsahi Halevi, Jürgen Prochnow, Igal Naor and Wolf Kahler. This looks like a fairly typical spy romance mystery thriller, with some big twists and nefarious characters. I’m curious, but not completely sold on it yet. Take a look below. ›››

  • Keanu Reeves Goes to Russia in First Trailer for Action Thriller 'Siberia'

Keanu Reeves Goes to Russia in First Trailer for Action Thriller 'Siberia'

    Siberia Trailer

“This is a problem, I assume?” “One of many.” Saban Films has revealed an official trailer for a romantic thriller titled Siberia, one of the latest films starring the one-and-only Keanu Reeves. The film follows an American diamond merchant who travels to Russia and goes to a small Siberian town, where he falls for a woman who owns a cafe. “As their passion builds, so does the treacherous world of the diamond trade from which he is unable to extricate himself. Both collide as the American man desperately looks for escape in a world with no exit.” The film’s cast includes Pasha Lychnikoff, Ana Ularu, Aleks Paunovic, Veronica Ferres, and Molly Ringwald. If you’re interested in this, it will be in theaters in July this summer, so not too long of a wait. Perhaps that’s the best time to watch a romantic thriller set in the colds of Siberia, right? ›››

  • Official Trailer for HBO's Doc 'Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind'

Official Trailer for HBO's Doc 'Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind'

Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind Trailer

“Robin was like nothing I’d ever seen.” HBO has debuted an official trailer for Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind, made by doc filmmaker Marina Zenovich (of Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic, Water & Power: A California Heist). This doc originally premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year. It’s a loving tribute to the late Robin Williams, a comedic mastermind and beloved actor, who touched all of our hearts in some way through his work, before passing away in 2014. The doc features new interviews with Lewis Black, Billy Crystal, Pam Dawber, Whoopi Goldberg, Eric Idle, David Letterman, Steve Martin, David Steinberg, Zak Williams, and more. It also has tons of archival footage that covers his entire life and career. I saw this at Sundance, and while it is deeply moving and heartfelt, it’s a more straightforward doc and not as clever or unique as I was hoping. That said, it’s worth seeing just to celebrate Robin Williams once again. ›››
