Hello, everyone! We wanted to share with you our seasonal update, The Abyss, releasing free for all No Man’s Sky players.
We wanted to focus on improving underwater, and also on some of the eerier elements of the game. Oceans are now a huge part of our gameplay, and a new story, The Dreams of the Deep, brings context to the depths. In The Abyss, you can discover this dark ghost story about a stranded freighter crew – as well as explore underwater ruins to uncover the tale of another lost soul trapped deep beneath the waves.

Terrifying creatures now populate the deepest ocean floors, which have become much more lucrative and diverse. Large predator fish, poisonous jellyfish, and strange hypnotic alien lifeforms protect the riches of the deep.
We couldn’t have an aquatic update without adding sunken ruins and submerged wrecks for players to dive and search for treasure. You can scavenge lost cargo or even repair crashed starships.

Controls for diving have been greatly improved, a new diving helmet has been added, and your jetpack now has an underwater dive mode. New suit technology also allows players to dive further and faster, along with a set of underwater emotes to help communicate with other players.
If you really wish to thoroughly explore the deepest oceans though, you will want the new submarine exocraft, The Nautilon. This revolutionizes underwater exploration and can be customized and upgraded with installable technology.

For those who want to make their home under the waves, over a dozen new base building parts have been added, including viewing domes, underwater corridors, an aquarium, and a deployable marine shelter.
It is exciting to be releasing our first major update for No Man’s Sky on Xbox One. We look forward to continuing to update the game in this way for the foreseeable future.

Sony has announced the full lineup for the PlayStation Classic, the retro mini-console that comes pre-loaded with 20 titles from the past.
The PlayStation Classic comes out on December 3 (with two controllers) for $99, and is approximately 45 percent smaller than the original system.
Not surprisingly, the Japanese version of the PlayStation Classic has a different lineup of titles, including Armored Core and Parasite Eve; more different still is our list of games we wanted to see on the system.

Hello Games has been hard at work at bringing a slew of improvements to No Man’s Sky, including the recently released free update No Man’s Sky NEXT. Now, the team is focusing on making underwater exploration the focus of the next free update called The Abyss.
The Abyss brings visual improvements so that oceans can be explored in “even greater detail,” 20+ new construction modules are included to build more expansive underwater habitats, more diverse biomes and fauna, more sea creatures, submarines to maneuver, lucrative sunken ruins, and more.
One of the biggest additions is the underwater story mode, called The Dreams of the Deep, introduces a dark narrative about a stranded crew whose freighter crashed and a tale about a lost soul trapped underwater.

Red Dead Redemption II is finally here, and it doesn’t disappoint. With many critics saying it has some of the best open-world design of this generation, this Rockstar title manages to breathe life into a very believable world. However, is the realism too much?
Rockstar meticulously labored over its attention to detail, with over 500,000 lines of unique dialogue, dynamic and beautiful weather systems, and an impressive amount of realism. Walking in deep snow is cumbersome, taking a bad turn at a rocky hill can kill you more easily than you’d expect, and your horse gets hurt when it bumps into trees and stumps.
This realism is a double-edged sword for me: knowing my horse can die, I take extra care when riding fast through a forest or in a gunfight. This increases my immersion and fondness for my horse Taco, but accidents can be frustrating.
On the other hand, I love the fact that Arthur’s weight can change depending on how you feed him or that if he hasn’t bathed for weeks, people might act differently toward him. These details are small but make a significant, positive effect by immersing me to the experience.
If you’ve already picked up Red Dead Redemption II, what are your thoughts on its realism? Let us know in the comments below.
