Overwatch Breakfast Cereal Announced At BlizzCon

Prepare to “amp up your breakfast with a sonic boost,” because Overwatch just announced a breakfast cereal featuring Lúcio. Brought to you in partnership by Blizzard and Kellogg’s, the new cereal is called Lúcio-Oh’s and looks a lot like Fruit Loops ran out of every color but yellow and green.

In Overwatch, Lúcio Correia dos Santos, a world-renowned musician, uses a Sonic Amplifier to pummel enemies with projectiles. He can also push them back with the force of the sound blasts. Lúcio helps his team by either boosting their speed or healing them with his music.

Every cereal box comes with a special loot boost inside which you can redeem in-game. Lúcio-Oh’s will be available in the United States starting December.

  • New Preview Alpha Ring 1811 Update – 11/2/18

Starting at 2:00 p.m. PDT today, members of the Xbox One Preview Alpha Ring will begin receiving a new 1811 Xbox One system update (181030-1920). Read on for more about the fixes and known issues in the latest 1811 system update.

    New Features:

    Family Settings

    • Children signing up for new accounts will now be asked to add a parent only if required to by local privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR or COPPA). This means that some minors, like teens in the U.S., will no longer have to add a parent and join a Microsoft family during signup. Xbox privacy and online safety defaults will still be applied based on age, and in order to change those, the minor would need to add a parent on Xbox who can then change their settings. Minors not in a family can add a parent anytime in Settings > Account > Family settings > Add a parent. Joining a family would also allow the parent and child to use other family features like content restrictions, screen time, activity reporting, and spending.
    • Children that are subject to local privacy regulations will still be required to add a parent during signup. While this will create a Microsoft family through which the parent can use family features like content restrictions, screen time, activity reporting, and spending, the parent will no longer be required to sign in on Xbox. If a parent wants to change their child’s Xbox privacy and online safety settings, the parent can sign in separately on Xbox and manage their family in Settings > Account > Family settings.
    • Existing child accounts are not affected by this change and will remain with their parents in their current Microsoft family.

     Mouse & Keyboard Support

    • We have enabled mouse support in this release.  Please check out the Quest in the Xbox Insider Hub to experience mouse and keyboard support in Warframe.

    Fixes:

    Audio

    • Several fixes to improve the stability of Audio and enhancements to Spatial Audio.  The fixes address the issue in which some users would experience no audio or inconsistent audio in games/apps.  The enhancements to Spatial audio improve the user experience.

    Game Hubs

    • Game Hub pages will no longer display a blank white square in the top left corner of the screen while in High Contrast Light theme

    Networking

    • Additional fixes to address the console loosing network connectivity at random times.
    • Additional fixes to address the console fully powering off when it is placed into Instant On mode.

    System – USB Keyboard

    • Fixes to address several areas of navigation when using a USB keyboard:
      • Users are now able to scroll horizontally through the tiles displayed within the Welcome screen of official clubs
      • Users are now able to set focus to the Redeem Code or Launch Site button options within Xbox Live Messages
      • Focus will remain on the Profile tile when attempting to scroll down to the More Actions and Comments button option within the Activity Feeds
      • Users will now not lose focus within the Welcome tab of Official club pages when scrolling down the screen via the usb keyboard
      • Scrolling through Profile cards within the guide will appear without choppy navigation

    System – General

    • Fixes to address memory leaks that led to app and system instability.
    • UI fixes to address spacing of text/Profile cards and game tiles throughout home.

    Known Issues:

    Profile Color

    • Sometimes users may encounter the incorrect Profile color when powering on the console.

  • Bryce Harper Revealed As The Cover Athlete For MLB The Show 19

Bryce Harper Revealed As The Cover Athlete For MLB The Show 19

The 2012 National League Rookie of the Year, 2015 National League MVP, and 2018 Homerun Derby champ, Bryce Harper will be gracing the cover of this year’s MLB The Show 19.

Because it’s still not known where Mondo will go next season, the cover art for the game currently has the six-time all-star depicted without a jersey. This morning on PlayStation.blog, San Diego Studio announced that it was partnering with the outfielder to reveal his next team on the game’s final cover.

    https://twitter.com/PlayStation/status/1058375746127835138

According to the Chicago Tribune this morning, Haper’s prior team, the Washington Nationals will make Mondo an official qualifying offer before Friday’s deadline, which means he’ll likely reject the offer because it’s less than he made in 2018. Harper became a free agent this off season after the Washington Nationals had a less than stellar run in the 2017-18 season.

MLB The Show 19 will be hitting store shelves March 26 and is available now for pre-order. If you still haven’t played MLB The Show 18, you can check out our review to see if it’s a home run.

  • Fans Are Already Editing Smash Bros. Trailers To Crossover With Infinity War

Fans Are Already Editing Smash Bros. Trailers To Crossover With Infinity War

Today, Nintendo murdered every character in their catalog, except Kirby. It was actually a pretty cool trailer, and Captain Falcon is a huge coward. The cinematic trailer for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s World of Light single-player mode bears more than a few similarities to the Avengers movie released earlier this year, Infinity War, which is not, like, super shocking. You can only really raise the ceilings on epic crossovers so much without them all bearing a resemblance.

Fans definitely took notice, however, and there’s already edits pairing the two properties, or ur-properties, together. Check out this video, which cheats a little by using the Robin/Lucina trailer from Super Smash Bros. for 3DS/Wii U in it, as one example.

There have also been reactions on Twitter comparing the two.

  • It: Chapter Two Gets A Release Date

It: Chapter Two Gets A Release Date

The second chapter of Stephen King’s nightmare-inducing book adaptation has gotten a release date. Coming to a sewer near you, Pennywise the Clown will be returning to the big screen on September 6.

    https://twitter.com/ITMovieOfficial/status/1057664270802898944

Following the story originally penned by Stephen King, the film picks up 27 years after the events of the first movie when the evil entity known as Pennywise the Clown is set to return. At this point all the kids in the Losers Club have grown up and must once again face their worst nightmares.

The cast has long since been announced with big-name actors like James McAvoy, Bill Hader and Jessica Chastain taking on the roles of the now-adult children from the first movie. Once again, Bill Skarsgard will resume his role as the infamous clown and the director of the first film, Andy Muschietti is still directing.

With the first film being a critical success and breaking the box office record for highest-grossing opening weekend for an R-rated film, it’ll be interesting to see how the horrific sequel stacks up. Thus far, no official trailer has been released.

  • Junichi Masuda Says He Might Step Down From Directing Pokémon Games Soon

Junichi Masuda Says He Might Step Down From Directing Pokémon Games Soon

Pokémon Let’s Go is coming fairly soon, launching later month on Switch and leaning heavily into collaboration with mobile title Pokémon Go, but it appears it might be the momentous for other reasons, as well. In an interview on the official Pokémon website, Junichi Masuda, who has been either assistant director or director on every mainline Pokémon game since Gold and Silver until Sun and Moon, stated that he might be done directing the mainline games.

Masuda was asked about working on a Switch game and the ways it ties into Pokémon Go. He answered talking about how familiar he was with Go and how working on the Switch let them experiment with new things like the Pokéball controller.

“For example, developing the Pokéball Plus and working with Bluetooth to facilitate the connection with Pokémon Go were both very interesting things that I had a chance to work on as the director this time,” Masuda said. “But at the same time, it’s important to have the younger generation at Game Freak take over the development of Pokémon as a series. I do believe this will probably be, in terms of the main Pokémon RPGs, the last time that I work as the director.”

It is possible that Masuda might just be thinking wistfully, or he could be planning to merely oversee the projects, but it does suggest the biggest change in the creative hierarchy of the game’s staff in nearly 20 years. That could put Sun & Moon’s director, Kazumasa Iwao, as the most likely person to follow in Masuda’s footsteps.

Pokémon Let’s Go releases in Eevee and Pikachu variations on the Nintendo Switch on November 16.

  • ID@Xbox Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed

ID@Xbox Easter Eggs You Might Have Missed

We’ve been celebrating ID@Xbox’s incredible milestone of releasing 1,000 games through the program and as a special treat, we wanted to share a handful of sneaky in-game Easter eggs you might have missed hidden within your favorite games through the ID@Xbox program. Take a peek below and let us know if you have a favorite Easter egg of your own!

Cuphead – Try to spot the original 12 Street Fighter II characters when battling Ribby and the Croaks!

“The Ribby and Croaks fight is one giant homage to our love of fighting games. Throughout the battle, there’s a visual reference to each of the original 12 Street Fighter II characters. From the top, Ribby and Croaks’ gi colors reference Ryu and Ken. Croaks’ flaming fire flies represent Dhalsim’s yoga fire while Ribby’s spinning hand attack is from E. Honda and the flying boxing gloves are from Balrog.  In phase two, Ribby claps sonic booms like Guile while Croaks’ spinning is a nod to Zangief’s lariat. When the frogs combine, Ribby rolls into Croaks like Blanka to start phase three. As the slot machine, the snake, tiger, and bull icons denote Vega, Sagat, and M.Bison, while the spiked drums resemble Chun Li’s bracelets.”

    Maja Moldenhauer, StudioMDHR

SpeedRunners & No Time to Explain – Can you guess what crossover ties both of these games together?

“There is a fun crossover Easter egg between No Time to Explain and SpeedRunners. The Shark Boss from No Time to Explain has a ship called “SS Royale” in the background. This is the same ship name as in the SpeedRunners level “SS Royale” that takes place on a ship!”

    – Alex Nichiporchik, tinyBuild

Human: Fall Flat – Have you discovered the secret hidden in the Aztec ruins?

“There are countless ways to traverse the weird and wonderful dreamscapes of Human: Fall Flat. Each level’s physics-based puzzles can be solved any way you see fit, and with up to eight players flailing across a level together, you’re bound to come across some of the game’s hidden gems!

One of Human: Fall Flat’s most challenging secrets can be found in the Aztec level, a labyrinth of swinging platforms and perilous walkways reserved only for the most seasoned of Bobs. Once you’ve made your way across the level’s first platform and into the Aztec ruins, ignore the huge opening teasing you forward and turn around. Climb up the cage behind you and use the box above it to access a narrow grass path. Carefully climb to its peak and your reward will be a literal nest of colorful Easter eggs! Pretty clever, huh? Good luck, fellow humans!”
