  • New Fallout 76 Update Makes Gameplay Improvements; Patch Notes Released

    Bethesda has announced a new update for Fallout 76. The patch makes several improvements to the RPG’s performance and stability, and also fixes numerous bugs in the game.

    The new update resolves certain gameplay and performance issues, and further stabilizes the Fallout 76 game client and servers. Additional patches have been made for the Xbox One version of the game–where certain menus could cause in-game instability.

    In terms of bug fixes, most of the update addresses issues with combat. An issue where certain enemies were able to chase players further than intended has been fixed, as has a glitch that prevented Ghoul and Scorched Officers from dropping nuke codes upon being killed. For PvP play, you’ll now see the correct cap reward whether you’re seeking revenge or someone else is hunting you down. Respawning after dying in PvP play will now correctly clear your hostile status towards other players if you don’t click the “Seek Revenge” option.

    • Repair: Fixed an issue that could cause an item to return to a broken state after being repaired.

    Quests

    • Bureau of Tourism: The Prickett’s Fort Token Dispenser can now be repaired, and players can no longer walk through it.

    PvP

    • Pacifist Mode: Players with Pacifist Mode enabled who engage in PVP by contesting a Workshop owned by another player will now correctly deal full damage to that player as long as they remain hostile.
    • Respawn: Choosing the “Respawn” option after dying during PVP combat will now correctly clear any active hostile status toward other players.
    • Seek Revenge: Cap rewards will now display correctly when choosing the “Seek Revenge” respawn option after being killed by another player.
    • Seek Revenge: When targeted by another player who is seeking revenge, the reward amount will now display the correct number of Caps that can be earned by killing that player.

    User Interface

    • Languages: Korean fonts will now be displayed correctly in game menus.
    • Hotkeys: The “Take Photo” hotkey can no longer be rebound and is now tied to the space bar on PC and the A button on controllers.
    • Hotkeys: Fixed an issue that could cause the “Take Snapshot” button in Photomode to display an incorrect hotkey.
    • Social: Fixed an issue that could cause players to disappear from each other’s social menus if two players each sent a friend invite to one another.
    • Social: Fixed an issue that prevented newly equipped Player Icons from displaying to other players in the Social Menu.

  • Fallout 76 Guide: How To Craft The Power Armor Workbench

    Once you’ve reached a high enough level to wear a fully-equipped suit of Power Armor, you’re likely to wonder what you can do to further enhance its abilities. Sure, you can take a chance and try finding better armor plating out in the world, but that’s a well that’ll run dry before too long. If you want true freedom in modifying and enhancing your Power Armor’s plating and capabilities, you’re going to need a Power Armor Station.

    There are several Power Armor Stations scattered all around the world for you to use, but if you want true convenience, you’re going to want your own. Like all craftable items in Fallout 76, you’ll need the Power Armor Station’s crafting blueprint before you can make it. This can be acquired by completing the side quest called “Miner Miracles,” which can be initiated by visiting the Garrahan Mining Headquarters. In addition to the blueprint, completing this quest nets you the Excavator Power Armor.Below we run you through through the steps required to complete this quest.

    It’s important to note that you must be level 25 to access this quest, so if you don’t meet this requirement, try checking out our other guides in the meantime, like our basic survival guide or our tips you should know before starting feature. But if you haven’t found any Power Armor yet, look to our Power Armor guide highlighting a few locations where you grab a set pretty easily.     Step 1: Finding The Quest At The Garrahan Mining Headquarters

    As stated, you’re going to need to head to the Garrahan Mining Headquarters to initiate the “Miner Miracles” side quest. You’ll find this old mining facility at the northeastern section of the Ash Heap region. Below you can find a screenshot pinpointing the location on the world map.

    When you arrive, you’re likely to be met by Super Mutants or robots, so dispatch them first. Once they’re down, proceed with caution into the building’s interiors; the place is booby-trapped with several explosive fragmentation mines (A mining headquarters with mines, hah). Once you’ve made it inside, look for a terminal around the rear of the building. Access it and select “Memo: Excavator Queries.” Next, proceed to project manager’s terminal on the east side of the building and access the file called “Excavator Module Blueprints.” This will set you down a path to crafting all the parts of the Excavator Power Armor.

    Step 2: Crafting The Excavator Power Armor

    Crafting each individual piece of the Excavator Armor is going to take a bit of time. Some of its pieces require some rare components. Below you can find screenshots highlighting each piece’s individual components.

    Each armor piece requires an assortment of components to craft. You’ll notice the components that are the hardest to come by are Nuclear Material and Black Titanium. If you’re looking for Nuclear Material, it can be dismantled from specific types of Junk, like the Blast Radius Board Game, High-Powered Magnet, Vault-Tec Alarm Clock, Ignition Core, or the Rad Poker Board Game.

    Black Titanium is dropped by Deathclaws. A good place to find these infamous creatures is the aptly named Deathclaw Island, which is the island to the west of the Typer County Fairgrounds. Another (far easier) way to get Black Titanium is from dismantling Miner Suit Scraps, which are dropped by Mole Miners. If you seek Black Titanium out in the world, you can quickly find a small supply of Black Titanium north of Garrahan Mining Headquarters right around the northwest corner of Lewisburg; it’s located just off the road around the area.

    For all the other components, try tagging them for search in the Power Armor crafting menu to help you find what you need either in your inventory or out in the world.

    Step 3: Registering The Excavator Power Armor

    Once you’ve painstakingly crafted all the parts of the Excavator Power Armor, simply equip the set and take it back to the Garrahan Mining Headquarters where you can register it by pressing the button on the building’s east side. This will complete the quest and reward you the Power Armor Station blueprint.

    Fallout 76's Atomic Shop: Here's How Much It Costs To Buy Everything With Real Money

    The release of Fallout 76 has also seen the full launch of the multiplayer game’s real-money shop, the Atomic Shop. Bethesda previewed the store during Fallout 76’s many beta sessions, but with one key piece of information missing: how much it would cost in real money to purchase Atoms, the store’s premium currency.

    Now that the game’s out, looking into the ability to buy Atoms with real money reveals that, like most premium currencies, you get a discount the more you buy. At the lowest purchase tier, 500 Atoms will run you $5; $10 gets you 1,100 Atoms; $20 gets 2,400 Atoms; and $40 is good for 50,000 Atoms. But if you’re looking to spend the least amount of real money in the store, the exchange rate is $1 per 100 Atoms.

    The Atomic Shop, which is accessible from Fallout 76’s main menu once you’ve created a character and stepped out of Vault 76 at the start of the game, won’t get you anything that will boost your ability to survive in the Wasteland or succeed in battling other Wastelanders. Instead, it focuses on customization items, like clothing, cosmetic items for your CAMP, Photomode poses, skins for your Pip-Boy and Power Armor, and emotes.

    It’s worth noting that you can earn small batches of Atoms without paying for them by completing in-game challenges of all sorts, some of which reset on a daily and weekly basis. You get 10 Atoms just for stepping out of Vault 76, for instance; Daily challenges are good for 10 Atoms each, and include activities like scrapping a piece of chest armor; and Weekly challenges can net you as much as 40 Atoms, which is what you’d get for taking five Photomode shots near Vault 76. There are a lot of these challenges, so while the earnings might come a little slowly, they at least provide a lot of ways to get a little extra currency to help you keep your money in your wallet.

    As for the Atomic Shop and its goods, prices vary widely even within the specific departments in the store, but in general things seem fairly pricey. In the clothing section, you can pick up the Red Shirt and Slacks clothing set for 250 Atoms, but the striped Two-Piece Pajama set will set you back 600 Atoms, the slick Vampire Suit goes for 800 Atoms, and the retro Rocket Suit costs 1,200 Atoms. Prices are similarly steep for customizing your CAMP building materials and buying skins and paint jobs for your Pip-Boy.

    Your money goes a bit further when purchasing poses for Photomode, but those get expensive in a hurry as well. The fairly simple Wave pose is just 150 Atoms, but the Rock Out pose, which comes with a guitar and microphone stand, will set you back 600 Atoms. Cosmetic accoutrements for your character’s face are some of the more cost-effective investments, with the department’s tattoos and faceprint customizations all running 250 Atoms. The cheapest set of things in the store are the icons, which all cost 50 Atoms.

    Overall, the point is that if you’re hoping to grab lots of customization items from the Atomic Shop without spending real money, you’re going to have your work cut out for you. If you completed all the currently available challenges, which span seven different categories, you’d only be 640 Atoms richer. Tuning in for Daily and Weekly challenges will be essential if you’re hoping to keep your real cash while still gussying up your Wastelander and your CAMP in-game.

    If you wanted to purchase everything in the store, you’d tally up a tab of a cool 29,160 Atoms. In real money terms, that’s $240–but you’d have 840 Atoms to spare, at least.

    Destiny 2's Newest Exotic Thunderlord Is Live, Here's How To Get It

    We’ve updated this post with the details for the third and final step of Destiny 2’s Murder Mystery quest, which unlocked on November 13. Here’s what you need to know to complete all three steps and claim Thunderlord.

    Destiny 2‘s Festival of the Lost has ended, but there’s still one piece of Destiny’s Halloween-themed event to go. It’s a murder mystery quest line Bungie teased at the start of the Festival, in which players are tasked with figuring out what happened to Master Ives, the Cryptarch formerly seen in the Reef back in the first Destiny.

    Ives’ death is both a story point and a quest to get a new Exotic weapon. That gun is Thunderlord, a lightning-slinging machine gun from the original Destiny that, until now, hadn’t shown up in the sequel. Unlocking it is a multi-step but relatively low-level quest, whose first step unlocked on October 30, the second on November 6, and the final on November 13. With that last step, you’ll return to some familiar territory if you’ve played Destiny 1: Earth’s Cosmodrome in Old Russia.

    To start it, head to Amanda Holliday in the Tower, where you’ll receive Master Ives’ journal. The pursuit item is colored gold, like other Exotic weapons quests, and requires players to search out the missing pages from Ives’ diary out in the world. Here’s how to solve the mystery and get Thunderlord.

    Step 1: The Crytarch’s Journal

    Clearing that first step is actually pretty easy to accomplish. There are 10 pages to acquire, and players can get them either by finding Legendary engrams in various activities–including Gambit, the Crucible, Strikes, and everything else you already do in Destiny 2–or from killing tougher Fallen enemies in the EDZ on Earth.

    Actually snagging all the pages is an easy feat to knock out if you head to the EDZ. You’re looking for Fallen with orange-colored health bars, which are otherwise known as Elite bad guys. You need the orange enemies in particular; you won’t get pages from Majors, who have yellow health bars, like the ones designated as high-value targets, for instance.

    The quickest way to find Elite Fallen to kill in the EDZ is to find a public event and join it. The Glimmer Mining event that takes place in various places in the EDZ is a solid bet, especially if you knock it up to its Heroic level. You won’t get a page for every Elite you kill, but the drop rate is pretty high–one or two public events should do it.

    If you don’t feel like messing around on Earth, you can also spend some shards at the Cryptarch in the Tower to quickly gather up the Legendary engrams you need to complete the step. That method will cost you 250 Legendary shards if you buy 10 engrams to get all 10 pages. Given how easy it is to get the pages in the EDZ or by earning Legendaries organically, though, you probably don’t need to waste the shards.

    Step 2: Hunting The Fallen

    The second step is almost as quick and easy as the first. It returns you to the EDZ, this time to complete four Lost Sectors. You’ll start with a batch of three that need cleaning out: Atrium, Widow’s Walk, and Terminus East. If you’re not familiar with the names, those are the three Lost Sectors located in the Trostland area of the EDZ.

    You’ll find Atrium in the church where Devrim Kay hangs out, Widow’s Walk in the northwest corner of the area, and Terminus East in the northeast corner. Once you’ve wrecked the Major enemies in all three, you’ll get a new step that directs you to yet another Lost Sector, called Whispered Falls.

    Jump on your Sparrow and drive west to the Outskirts area, and look for the Lost Sector up in the hills in the west end of the area. It’s north of the narrower portion of the map you drive through to access Winding Cove.

    Kill the Major in Whispered Falls and you’ll need to wait for Amanda Holliday to summon you back to the Tower. She’ll eventually give you new coordinates, which will send you to the third and final stage of the quest.

    Step 3: Return To The Cosmodrome

    Your final step for the mission unlocks when you’re prompted to return to Amanda Holliday. She’ll identify a strange teleporter in Earth’s European Dead Zone you should go check out–it’s actually a Mission that starts you on the final step of the quest. To get there, warp into the Winding Cove location in the EDZ, then ride east toward the Outskirts. You’ll find the mission start in the northern part of the canyon in the Whispered Falls Lost Sector. Fight your way inside to reach the teleporter.

    Starting the mission warps you back to the Cosmodrome, the place where Destiny players first started way back in the beginning of the original game. You’re basically following the path of the very first Destiny mission, fighting through Fallen into the Wall around the Cosmodrome. Keep following the mission markers until you get inside, where you’ll face a big battle with a Fallen Captain called Kikliss, Murderer, and a huge batch of minion enemies.

    This is the toughest fight of the mission by far, so bring your best guns and try to keep moving. Smaller Fallen enemies will continually spawn into the battle, so Supers that take out lots of enemies at once or are good for crowd control will help. Once you damage Kikliss enough, a giant Servitor will join the fight, which makes it even more annoying. Try to keep space between you and Kikliss while you focus your fire on the Servitor, since it can make other enemies invincible–including the boss.

    Killing the Servitor should make it a little easier to take down Kikliss, which is your main objective for the mission. Once you do, you’ll be prompted to fight your way back out the Cosmodrome. Back outside, you’ll get a message from Amanda Holliday suggesting that this could be your last time back in the Cosmodrome, and you’ll see an objective prompt reading, “Leave The Cosmodrome?” It seems Destiny 2 is suggesting there might be more secrets to find hidden in Russia, so take your time in leaving to look around. We haven’t found whatever secret the game is hinting at just yet, but we’ll update this guide when we do.

    If you approach the teleporter near where you started, you’ll be sent back to orbit and prompted to return to Holliday in the Tower. When you do, she’ll wonder about what the Fallen who killed Master Ives were really after, but she’ll also thank you for avenging his death. Your final reward is a “trinket” she found in his stuff, which is none other than the sparking machine gun Thunderlord. The Exotic goes in your Heavy weapon slot, and carries the “Reign Havoc” perk, which causes lightning strikes from the sky as you rack up kills with bullets.

  • Best Black Friday 2018 Rainbow Six Siege Deals (PS4, Xbox One)

    It’s not Black Friday yet, but we already know several retailers will have deals for Rainbow Six Siege. In fact, some of them are live right now. Siege is available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, but stores have only announced Black Friday deals for the console versions of the game.

    We’ve outlined all the Black Friday deals for Rainbow Six Siege below. There are discounts scheduled for both Siege’s standard and Advanced editions–the latter of which includes bonus in-game R6 currency and rare, time-limited content that was only offered during Operation Chimera. However, each store is offering a different deal for the game, so plan accordingly before you set out this Black Friday.

    The best Black Friday Rainbow Six Siege digital deal is only offered through the Xbox One and PlaySTation 4’s respective online stores. The game is normally sold online for $50, but is being discounted to $15 on the Xbox Marketplace and PSN for Black Friday. If you want a physical copy of Siege, you’ll find the best deal at GameStop where both the Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game are scheduled to be sold for $15.

    In our Rainbow Six Siege review, Scott Butterworth gave the game an 8/10, writing, “My experiences weren’t always perfect, but when Siege works, there’s nothing else like it. It’s not designed to appeal to all players, and that’s exactly what allows it to be something special.”

    Since release, Siege has doubled the number of its Operators with the addition of 22 new characters, and another two are scheduled to release December 2018 with the launch of Operation Wind Bastion–which will be available for early testing on Siege’s PTR tomorrow. All Operators are added to the game for free–but must be unlocked with R6 currency if you don’t buy the Season Passes–so you can buy the standard version of the game and still get the characters you’ve missed out on.

  • Skyrim's Composer Wants To Work On The New Lord Of The Rings Show

    One of the best, most defining parts of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movie trilogy was the music composed by Howard Shore. It remains to be seen if Shore will return for Amazon’s new, very expensive Lord of the Rings TV show, but if he doesn’t, who might do the music?

    Jeremy Soule, who composed the very excellent music for Bethesda’s 2011 RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has raised his hand to express interest in doing the job. He posted an informal Twitter poll asking his fans if they want to see him do the music for the LotR show. An overwhelming 95% of respondents said they want him to do it (via WinterIsComing).

    Soule went on to say that he was “blown away” by the response to his poll. Now, he’s going to do “a little networking” to see if it might be possible for him to work on the LotR show. “I hope I can bring this world to life in music for you. It will just depend on factors beyond my control,” he said.

    Soule is an accomplished composer in the world of video games. In addition to Skyrim, Soule did the music for the Guild Wars series and multiple Harry Potter games, as well as BioWare’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Amazon’s LotR show would arguably be his biggest project yet if it comes together.

    Amazon has made no announcements about the music for its untitled LotR show, or pretty much anything about it like a cast or behind-the-camera talent. What we do know is that it’s being written by Star Trek 4 scribes JD Payne and Patrick McKay.

    Per the supposed terms of an agreement between Amazon and Lord of the Rings rights-holders, the show must enter production within two years, so it might not be much longer until we know a lot more about it. Amazon is reportedly spending $1 billion to produce the Lord of the Rings TV show, so it is no small undertaking.

    In LotR film news, a movie about the relationship between J.R.R. Tolkien and his wife Edith Bratt is currently in production. Nicholas Hoult plays Tolkien while Lily Collins plays Bratt.

  • Anthem Is Not Delayed, BioWare Producer Insists

    BioWare’s next big release, the online multiplayer game Anthem, is still on track to launch on schedule on February 22, 2019. Executive producer Mark Darrah wrote on Twitter that the PS4, Xbox One, and PC title is still locked in for that date. “Same as always,” he wrote.

    This new confirmation comes after Darrah responded to someone on Twitter who said they thought the game was launching in March, not February. “Nope February is what it’s always been,” he said.

    Darrah’s comments also follow a rumour on Reddit that claims BioWare is testing Anthem for Sony’s unannounced PlayStation 5 console. The rumour, which comes from the same person who revealed Sony was skipping E3 2019 a day before Sony announced it, also stated that Anthem is “a mess” on current-generation hardware, noting that it may get delayed.

    Anthem was initially scheduled to launch in 2018, but it was later pushed to 2019. Sources said the delay was due to development issues, but EA instead said it wanted to release the game during a less-crowded period.

    A “VIP Demo” for Anthem will be available to EA/Origin Access subscribers on Xbox One and PC, respectively on February 1, 2019. The demo also be available to pre-order customers, which opens the door for PS4 players to get in on the action.

    The game is a sci-fi action RPG that casts players as Freelancers, who are soldiers that are equipped with Javelins. These super high-tech Iron Man-like suits allow players to fly around environments and engage with enemies while completing quests either alone or with others.

  • Fallout 76 Black Friday 2018 Deals For PC, PS4, And Xbox One

    Though Black Friday 2018 doesn’t officially start until around Thanksgiving, we’ve rounded up some major deals for people to take advantage of. Coming off the heels of the recent launch of Fallout 76, the series’ first attempt at an online game, several retailers have already put the PC, PS4, and Xbox One releases up for discount just in time for Black Friday.

    As of this time, Best Buy, GameStop, and Walmart will have the game up for sale during Black Friday. While these deals aren’t currently active, you’ll be able to plan ahead by keeping track of which retailers have the kind of deals you want. For instance, Best Buy will have all three versions of Fallout 76 up for Black Friday with some special bundles. Though both the PS4 and Xbox One releases will be still be normal retail price at $60, they’ll come packed with a special Vault Boy keychain. While the PC release will be bundled with a Blackout Yeti mic for $100. GameStop has both standard console versions for $40, with the special Tricentennial release at $60 (down from its original $80 price). Walmart will also have the game up for sale, discounting their retailer-exclusive steelbook edition for $60.

    Fallout 76 is a bit different compared to Bethesda’s previous efforts with Fallout 3 and 4. As an online survival game, you’ll focus more on surviving the elements while also staying a few steps ahead of other enemies and rival players while exploring the expansive map of Appalachia. Instead of a traditional Fallout narrative, with your choices and decisions will leaving drastic consequences on the state of the world and all the characters in it, 76 places more of an emphasis on the moment-to-moment plot with your character simply trying to survive in the irradiated wilderness of West Virginia.

    Though our final review isn’t up yet, editor Edmond Tran offered up some early impressions with the game so far: “Fallout 76 attempts to pull off some significantly new ideas for the series, but with few exceptions, they notably diminish many aspects of the game. Multiplayer is fun, but it’s not an ideal way to enjoy questing, and the shooting mechanics aren’t strong enough to make combat-heavy activities enjoyable for long periods. Things feel better as a solo experience, but the lack of in-universe characters makes becoming emotionally invested in the world and your goals difficult.”

    Black Friday 2018 will kick into high-gear later this week. Again, many of these deals aren’t active just yet, so be sure to keep tabs on the deals that interest you the most. In addition to Fallout 76, Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition, God of War, and Black Ops 4 will also be on discount for this week.     PS4's PSN Black Friday Game Sale On The PlayStation Store Is Now Live

    Sony’s Black Friday sale is now live on the PlayStation Store, dropping prices on over 100 popular PS4 games. The sale runs between now and November 27 at 8 AM PT (11 AM ET). So if you see something you want, grab it before then. But before you finalize your purchase, you might want to check our Black Friday PS4 coverage to see if you’ll be able to get a better price somewhere else in the coming days (though it might be on a physical copy). Without further ado, let’s see what’s on sale.

    First off, a couple of key the PlayStation services have gotten temporary price cuts. A 12-month PlayStation Plus subscription, which lets you take your console online and also gets you free games each month, is on sale for $40 right now. Also, a year’s subscription to PlayStation Now, a service that lets you download or stream over 650 games, is on sale for $80.

    Some big recent games have gotten nice discounts, including Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 for $48. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is on sale for $40, and last year’s installment, Assassin’s Creed Origins, is down to $24. While the standard edition of Red Dead Redemption 2 remains at full price, you can get the Special Edition on sale for $70 or the Ultimate Edition for $90 if you want some extra in-game items.

    A number of PS4 exclusives got the discount treatment as well. You can get God of War and Detroit: Become Human for just $22 each, Persona 5 for $20, and Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for $15.

    Anyone with a PlayStation VR headset (or anyone who’s planning to pick one up at a Black Friday sale price) can grab the online team shooter Firewall: Zero Hour for $30, the surreal puzzle adventure Torn for $21, or the boxing game Creed: Rise To Glory for $15.

    Black Friday is generally considered the year’s biggest shopping day, seeing as it kicks off most retailers’ holiday season. But that doesn’t mean you should ignore Cyber Monday. The online shopping holiday was created in 2005 and has grown to the point where it was the biggest online shopping day in the US last year. But now that online Black Friday deals are often just as good as in-store ones, what role will Cyber Monday play in 2018? Let’s look at what to expect from Cyber Monday 2018; we’ve also got a roundup of the confirmed Cyber Monday deals.

    When Is Cyber Monday 2018?

    Cyber Monday always lands on the Monday following Black Friday. Since Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, this year’s Cyber Monday falls on November 26, 2018. But just like how Black Friday is being drawn out at some retailers into a multi-day sale event, Cyber Monday is too. Some retailers are even calling it Cyber Week, so they’ll be offering sale prices throughout the whole week of November 26 and in some cases, beyond.

    What Retailers Will Participate In Cyber Monday?

    Generally, the same retailers that have Black Friday sales will try to keep customers coming back on Cyber Monday. That means anyone looking for video game and entertainment deals will want to keep an eye on Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Newegg, Target, Kohl’s, and Walmart in particular.

    Many digital game sellers will also be having Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, though many of them will likely run a single sale that spans both shopping holidays. Expect to see sales on the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Nintendo Eshop, Steam, and other PC storefronts like Humble, Fanatical, and Green Man Gaming.

    When Will We See Cyber Monday Deal Announcements?

    Unsurprisingly, retailers tend to put most of their marketing efforts toward Black Friday during November. In fact, most of the biggest retailers have already released their Black Friday ads, so we largely know what deals to expect in terms of video games and entertainment (you can find details about all the Black Friday sales here). But Cyber Monday offers a way for stores to keep the customers coming back, so expect to see Cyber Monday ads appearing over Black Friday weekend, November 24-25.

    Last year, Best Buy and GameStop kept many of their video game deals going through Black Friday weekend and into Cyber Monday. On Cyber Monday, Target offered 15% off most items online (with a few exceptions in the video game category). For its part, Steam ran a single Black Friday weekend sale that lasted through Monday.

    In general, though, don’t expect Cyber Monday to have deeply discounted doorbuster deals like you’ll find on Black Friday. So if you see something you want for an appealing price on Black Friday, it’s usually not a good idea to wait for Cyber Monday to see if you can get an even better deal.

    That said, common sale items this Black Friday, like the PS4 Slim with Spider-Man for $200 and $100 discounts on Xbox One S and X, are likely to continue through Cyber Monday at many retailers.

    When In Doubt, Check Price History

    If you’re not sure if the deal you’re considering on Cyber Monday is a good one, it’s wise to check the item’s price history to see how low it has gone in the past and how often it tends to go on sale.
