An Inside Look at Christo’s Floating Piers in ‘Walking on Water’ Trailer

    Walking on Water Trailer

“This is madness! Total madness.” Kino Lorber has debuted the trailer for the documentary Walking on Water, about legendary maverick artist Christo. With uncensored access to Christo and his team, the doc film is a “cinema vérité look at the celebrated artist and his process, from inception to completion of 2016’s most visited art event—The Floating Piers, a stretched 2-mile dahlia-yellow walkway that allowed over 1.2 million visitors to safely walk across stretches of Italy’s Lake Iseo to experience the sensation of floating and walking on water.” You may have seen photos of this remarkable large-scale work of art, but there’s also a remarkable story about how it came together – and almost fell apart. “The film takes the viewer on a journey into Christo’s world, unmediated by interviews, voice-overs or reenactments, drawing a portrait of an artist who deliberately places visceral experience over demagogy.” It’s also described as an intimate look at “a man chasing (and eventually realizing) a larger-than-life dream. Must watch doc for art nerds of all ages. Enjoy. ›››

Cheating Too Much Could Break GTA San Andreas

When I was younger, I played a lot of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. I would also use a lot of cheat codes while playing the game. If a mission was too hard, I would cheat. But I would additionally use some of the silly cheat codes to cause mayhem and have fun. This ended up breaking my playthrough of GTA San Andreas

  • Teaser Trailer for Sci-Fi Short Film ‘The Beacon’ About a Missing Pilot

Teaser Trailer for Sci-Fi Short Film ‘The Beacon’ About a Missing Pilot

    The Beacon Trailer

“I do this one-month contract, and all of us can move to a better place. See you when I see you.” This just looks too damn good, can’t help but share this trailer. The Beacon is a mesmerizing new sci-fi short film made by VFX artist Chris Staehler, his second short after working in the visual effects industry for almost 10 years. Set in the distant future, Staehler’s short film The Beacon is about Mark and Kara Verne – both young shipping pilots who are struggling to make ends meet. When Kara goes missing months after taking a large interstellar contract, Mark travels to the far reaches of the galaxy in search of her. Starring Damien Kelly, Kylie Contreary, Eric Snow, and Claire Montegomery. It’s no surprise the VFX look incredible, which enhance the story of these travelers. I’m really looking forward to seeing the short (which runs 25 minutes). ›››

McKenna Grace in Horror Sequel ‘Annabelle Comes Home’ First Trailer

    Annabelle Comes Home Trailer

“Warning! Positively do not open!” Warner Bros has debuted the first trailer for horror sequel Annabelle Comes Home, the third movie in the Annabelle spin-off series which originally began in Jame Wan’s The Conjuring horror universe. Gary Dauberman, the screenwriter of the Annabelle movies, It, and The Nun, makes his directorial debut on the film, which is produced by Peter Safran (Aquaman), who has produced all the films in the Conjuring, and Conjuring universe creator James Wan. Despite trying to lock her up, this time the creepy doll goes after the Warrens’ ten-year-old daughter, Judy, and her friends. The cast includes McKenna Grace (who played the young Carol in Captain Marvel) as Judy, Madison Iseman as her babysitter, Katie Sarife, Emily Brobst, and Steve Coulter, with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprising their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren. I really like the use the color changing lamp in this trailer. ›››

  • First Trailer for ‘Dora and the Lost City of Gold’ Starring Isabela Moner

First Trailer for ‘Dora and the Lost City of Gold’ Starring Isabela Moner

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Trailer

“You are way more energetic than I remember.” Paramount has debuted the first official trailer for Dora and the Lost City of Gold, the live-action Dora the Explorer movie that’s hitting theaters this summer. Young actress Isabela Moner (seen in Transformers: The Last Knight, Sicario: Day of the Soldado, and Instant Family) takes on the iconic role of Dora, with the short hair and backpack. Her first big adventure is high school, but of course she ends up in the jungle on a real adventure to save her parents – played by Eva Longoria & Michael Peña. Also starring Eugenio Derbez, Temuera Morrison, Q’orianka Kilcher, Adriana Barraza, plus Danny Trejo (as the voice of Boots – her lil’ sidekick monkey), and Benicio Del Toro (as the voice of Swiper). This looks as crazy and as goofy and as ridiculous as expected, but it’s from the director of the recent two Muppets movies, so maybe it will actually be a good time at the movies. Enjoy. ›››
