My copy of The Bitmap Brothers: Universe, an exhaustive (and gorgeous) history of the British studio behind games like Speedball and The Chaos Engine, arrived last week. And it’s awesome.

Zero Wing, an old shooter most famous for its “All your base are belong to us” intro, was presumed (at least among Westerners) to have 3-4 different endings. Turns out only the English language version has three; the Japanese one has 35, most of which are absolute nonsense.

“And where did your voyage take you to today, my Lord?” The Orchard has released a full theatrical trailer for an indie film titled Hunter Gatherer, the feature debut of Josh Locy, which won the Best Actor Jury Prize at the SXSW Film Festival. Andre Royo (who won the SXSW award) stars as Ashley, a middle-aged man who emerges from a 3-year stint in prison, with a great amount of optimism and hope. He heads home to learn that girlfriend and family have completely forgotten about him. Also starring George Sample III, Kellee Stewart and Ashley Wilkerson; and executive produced by David Gordon Green. It’s described as a “bittersweet, darkly comic tale of seeking out one’s destiny — but discovering an unexpected fate along the way.” This looks like it might be an underrated gem, worth checking out for the performances at least. ›››

“This is your chance to make a real difference.” Lucasfilm + Disney have revealed the first 30-second TV spot for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, directed by Gareth Edwards, the upcoming Star Wars solo spin-off movie arriving in theaters in December. There’s just about one month left to go until this opens and it looks totally spectacular. I’m very excited to see it, I still have high hopes, and I especially can’t wait to meet this team of heroes – every one of them looks like they bring something unique and inspiring to the team. I’m still partial to Donnie Yen as Chirrut Îmwe (and Jyn Erso), but they all seem awesome. Starring Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso, as well as Mads Mikkelsen, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Jonathan Aris, Riz Ahmed & Alan Tudyk as K-2SO. Join the rebellion this December. Enjoy. ›››

The 2007 original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare contained a glitch on one of the maps where, under the right circumstances, you could slip out of the map.
Now that Modern Warfare Remastered is out, it’s been discovered that developer Raven Software paid tribute to this glitch by putting a “Caution” sign over the area where this could happen. This was discovered recently by Reddit user DaJeroen and highlighted by Kotaku. Check out the image below:

This glitch was a pretty wild one, as it caused players to slip into another dimension, basically. The new caution sign is a pretty cool Easter egg for fans of the franchise to come across.
Modern Warfare Remastered officially launched on November 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The only way to get it is to buy one of the premium versions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which start at $80. As of yet, Activision has not said if it will ever release the remaster on its own–but it also hasn’t ruled it out. The remaster includes the game’s campaign and multiplayer mode.

BioWare will publish a new trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda today to celebrate N7 Day. While we have to wait a little while longer for the trailer itself, you can now watch a teaser, which is a rehash from what BioWare released a year ago today on N7 Day 2015:

“You will say goodbye, and you will look back one last time and know that wherever you go, we will be with you. This is Commander Shepard signing off,” Shepard voice actress Jennifer Hale says.
Today’s trailer will follow a teaser video from November 1, which showed off new characters and featured narration by main character Ryder’s father. This video also invited viewers to join the “Andromeda Initiative,” which is a group that will apparently travel outside of the Milky Way Galaxy.
We don’t know what exactly the Andromeda Initiative is, but you can sign up for it at its website. Presumably, today’s Andromeda video will discuss the nature of the Andromeda Initiative.
We will update this post with the Andromeda trailer and Andromeda Initiative details as they’re announced.
Andromeda is due out before the end of March 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game is shaping up well right now, according to EA CFO Blake Jorgensen, but the publisher could delay the game if it feels that’s the right thing to do.
After planning to launch the game in 2016, EA delayed Andromeda, only saying it would now be released during its fourth fiscal quarter, which spans January through March. Earlier this year, a delay until “early 2017” was confirmed by BioWare, explaining that it “need[s] the right amount of time to make sure [it] deliver[s] everything the game can be and should be.”
An Amazon listing for an Andromeda tie-in art book suggested the game might launch on March 21.
