Poor Ellie. Six years after The Last of Us’s ominous ending, she’s set out to become a budding folk musician but can’t seem to find anybody to jam with. And those dead bodies littered throughout the cabin aren’t helping.

Capcom has released the first gameplay trailer for Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite, showing Ryu and Mega Man X taking on Iron Man and Captain Marvel in what looks to be an Asgardian arena.
As previously announced, Infinite is a 2v2 fighting game, instead of the traditional 3v3 the series is known for. In this respect, Infinite’s gameplay looks more like Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, a fighting game Capcom released for the Wii.
Another small change shown in the video is that characters can chain combos together by calling in their teammate to pickup where they left off. In previous titles, the second character would enter the battle with an attack. However the new system looks closer to that of Street Fighter X Tekken, where the second character runs in and the player must time an in coming attack precisely to link the two chains together.
The series’ over the top launches, which send characters skyrocketing into the air, don’t seem to be present. Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite seems to be more grounded game. However, wall bounces are still present, so there will be some opportunity to get fancy with combos.
Assist attacks, another classic Marvel Vs. Capcom gameplay pillar, also aren’t seen in the video. In previous games teammates could be summoned to jump in and do an attack and then leave. These were often used to control territory or limit the opponent’s movements. Assist attacks are one of the more complicated elements of the MvC series and Capcom has said it wants people to “engage in accessible” gameplay, which could be why they aren’t present. Of course, it’s also possible they may show up in future videos.
Another aspect of the gameplay we’re given a look at is the Infinity Stones. During the fight Ryu activates the Power Stone and unleashes a barrage of attacks. Although the lifebar isn’t shown, presumably all of these are doing more damage than usual.
Captain Marvel responds by utilizing the Time Stone, which gives her a speed boost. She’s shown teleporting through Ryu to the other side and opening him up with a flanking barrage. Check out all the action for yourself in the video above.
Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite was officially announced during Sony’s PlayStation Experience press conference. It will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017. It was also confirmed that Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is now available to download and play on PS4. Xbox One and PC re-releases will arrive in March 2017.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 lands in theaters next year. The first teaser was released back in October, but a second has arrived. James Gunn unveiled the trailer today at Comic Con Experience 2016 in São Paulo, Brazil.
While the first teaser gave a small taste of what Baby Groot’s role would be, the second shows what he is fully capable of.
The movie deals with the Guardians traveling the cosmos together while trying to unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. It’s mentioned that “old foes become new allies” in the official synopsis. This likely refers to Yondu. Although, it could mean we’ll see the Collector helping out the Guardians despite his place getting destroyed in the first film.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens May 5, 2017.
Telltale Games also confirmed the rumor that they were working on a video game based on the characters and released a trailer at during The Game Awards 2016.

Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann has asked fans to put their faith in the studio as it returns to the story of Joel and Ellie for The Last of Us: Part 2.
Speaking during a panel held at PlayStation Experience, Druckmann started by confirming that the sequel takes place a few years after the events of the first game, when Ellie is aged 19. He went on to acknowledge worries among fans that creating a sequel diminishes the poignancy of the first game’s ending and the journey its main characters went through.
“So much thought went into this and I know there’s a lot of people that feel this trepidation about coming back to these characters and revisiting what that ending means and worrying whether that’s going to spoil the first game,” he said.
“You have to understand we feel all those things as well. No one loves these characters more than we do and we would not do this if we didn’t feel like we had the right idea. The ‘Part II’ is really doubling down on that to say we believe in this so much. We’re not trying to avoid it.”
According to Druckmann, Naughty Dog is treading the two games as companions that, together, depict an overarching narrative.
“I played with so many ideas that had different characters and it never felt right,” he explained. “The Last of Us is about these two characters specifically. So yes, the Part II is saying this is a complementary story to the first game, but the two together are going to tell this larger tale.
“All I ask is that fans of the first one put faith in us and trust us. We’re going to do right by you.”
Earlier in the panel, Druckmann also revealed that players will primarily control Ellie in The Last of Us: Part 2. In the first game Joel was the main playable character, and this reversal extends into the underpinning theme of hate, as Ellie can be seen in the debut trailer threatening to kill a group of as of yet unknown characters.

The newly revealed sequel to The Last of Us will put you in the shoes of Ellie, rather than Joel, Naughty Dog revealed today.
A PlayStation Experience panel this afternoon began with a reairing of the trailer for The Last of Us: Part II that debuted earlier today (watch it above). The video ends with Ellie vowing to find and kill everyone, though it’s unclear who it is she plans to target. Creative director Neil Druckmann was asked about the identity of those people, a subject he avoided addressing directly. He did, however, state that Ellie will be the playable character in Part II, as was the case in The Last of Us DLC expansion Left Behind.
Beyond that, there was little shared about what will be changed in terms of gameplay. Druckmann noted Ellie “plays different[ly]” than Joel but didn’t elaborate.
Further contrasting the two games, Druckmann said the first was about the love between Joel and Ellie. He describes Part II as being the “counter,” saying it’s “about hate and how we use all of those same things to make the player feel that.”
Druckmann also confirmed Gustavo Santaolalla, the composer of the first game, is returning for Part II.
The panel is ongoing, but we’ll have more as it’s shared. A date hasn’t been shared for Part II yet, though Druckmann described it as being a “ways off” earlier today.
