Looking for some new songs to play in Rock Band 4? Harmonix added three new Avril Lavigne tracks to the music game’s DLC library today.
The three songs span Lavigne’s career, beginning with her 2002 breakout hit, “Complicated.” The other two songs are “My Happy Ending” and “What the Hell.” For that last song, the handclaps have been put into the drum track, Harmonix explained in a blog post. Check out the video below to see the songs in action in Rock Band 4.
The songs are available for $2 each or as part of the Avril Lavigne Pack 01 for $5.50. The naming convention suggests this could be just the first track pack featuring songs from the Canadian artist.
Rock Band 4’s first expansion, Rivals, came out in October. It adds the new Rivals mode, which is an asynchronous mode where multiple players “join up remotely as members of Crews to compete in a stats battle with other Crews around the world.” Rivals also comes with what’s called “Rockudrama,” a new story campaign that “pulls you through a twisting, funny, and sometimes tragic story of your band’s history and triumph over adversity.”
People who buy Rivals will also get access to other content updates coming out in the future, including synchronous online multiplayer, which arrives this holiday. More character customization options are also on the way. A new, foldable Jaguar guitar controller launched alongside the Rivals expansion.
Square Enix today posted a new piece of art from Final Fantasy XV–and it looks pretty terrific.
Posted to the game’s Twitter account, the image shows Noctis and Luna in the foreground, with an epic background that includes waterfalls, a towering city, floating ships, and more. Take a look:
After years of development and multiple delays, Final Fantasy XV is slated to arrive on November 29 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Late night TV host and comedian Conan O’Brien played the game this week alongside Lord of the Rings actor Elijah Wood. His verdict? “This whole thing, it’s like an epic, blue balls waste of time,” he said as part of his newest Clueless Gamer segment–watch the full video here.
In an interview with Glixel, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella was asked if the studio will make another Titanfall game after Titanfall 2. While the game’s critical reception has been overwhelming positive, it’s too soon to say how well the game has done from a sales perspective, the executive said.
“We don’t know yet,” Zampella said about making a third Titanfall game. “The game is, critically, a huge success. We’re really happy with all the reviews and the positive sentiment. Sales, it’s too early to tell. We’d definitely like to tell more of the story and the universe. I think it’s pretty safe to assume that we’ll explore more of it.”
EA publicist Devin Bennett clarified that all EA has said on the subject of more Titanfall games is that the publisher is “committed to the franchise.”
“So, whatever the f*** that means,” Zampella replied.
“You always hope when you create something that it’s embraced and that people will love it for generations to come,” he said. “I hope we do more of it. We probably plan to do more–as you know, we have the mobile games as well. I would like to see the universe live on. I think it’s very expandable. I think there’s a lot we can do with it. There’s a lot of great ideas floating around here [at Respawn] that I would love to see come to life.”
The first Titanfall mobile game, Frontline, is a free-to-play card game for iOS and Android that came out alongside Titanfall 2. It’s the first Titanfall mobile game to come from Respawn’s partnership with mobile gaming giant Nexon.
“If the question was, ‘Would I rather have this window to myself?’ Well, of course,” Zampella said. “I’m not foolish. I’m not foolish that way, anyway. In other ways, probably.”
Another interesting thing for Zampella this year is that Activision remastered Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, a game that he worked on at Infinity Ward before Activision fired him. Asked if it’s “weird” for Titanfall 2 to come out so close to the Modern Warfare remaster, Zampella said it “definitely feels a little odd.”
“Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is from my old studio, that I built,” he added. “And they’re repackaging my old game that I built, on a brand that I built. So it’s kind of like you’re throwing it all against me. OK, I can live with it.”
The Xbox Store’s Black Friday sale kicks off tomorrow, November 18, a full week before the real Black Friday, on November 25. Microsoft still hasn’t released a full list of the deals for its Black Friday sale, but the company has now put out a new video that teases what to expect from the sale; take a look:
The sale period starts tomorrow, November 18, and runs until November 28. Also during this time, Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners who don’t have a Gold membership can get one for $1 for the first month. Additionally, more deals will be revealed on Black Friday itself, November 25.

The Transformers series is known for its pioneering visual effects and advances in filmmaking technology, and it looks like next year’s Transformers: The Last Knight will no different. A new video showcases the amazing 3D IMAX cameras that have been used to make the movie, and provides a glimpse of what fans can expect when it hits next summer. Check it out below:
Transformers: The Last Knight opens on June 23, 2017. Mark Wahlberg returns from 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction and will be joined by Josh Duhamel, Stanley Tucci, and John Goodman.
The film finished shooting in September, and a first trailer is expected soon. So far we know the movie will feature King Arthur, Nazis, Dinobots, and “the world’s loneliest dog,” alongside the usual displays of robotic mayhem.
Paramount will be releasing a newTransformers movie every year until at least 2019. The studio has already announced release dates for the two movies following The Last Knight: Transformers 6 is scheduled to debut on June 8, 2018, while Transformers 7 will follow on June 28, 2019. One of these is expected to be a spinoff film focusing on Bumblebee.
Earlier this year, director Michael Bay confirmed that The Last Knight will be his final movie in the series. “I still have a great time,” he told Rolling Stone. “It’s fun to do a movie that 100 million people will see. But this is the last one. I have to pass the reins to someone else. It’s time to move on.”
The newest mainline Pokemon games, Sun and Moon, are slated to come out tomorrow, November 18. Nintendo is expecting strong sales for the 3DS game, apparently, as it’s now been reported that the company shipped more than 10 million copies of the game to retailers for launch day.
Sun and Moon are the first mainline Pokemon games to come out since Pokemon Go‘s record-setting release in July. There is no doubt that the game’s status as a global phenomenon has raised awareness for the Pokemon brand overall. Strong sales for Sun and Moon would be no surprise, given that the game also set a preorder record for Nintendo, while the game’s free demo broke records as well.
A new PlayStation 4 update has arrived–but it doesn’t do much.
Update 4.06 is out now. The patch notes are one line long. They read: “This system software update improves the quality of the system performance.” That’s the same exact wording as was used for update 4.05, which came out in October.
Of course, NeoGAF has celebrated the launch of this new update with some wonderful, stability-themed animates GIFs. Go see them here.
PS4 4.00, the console’s latest major update, came out in September. It introduced folders for managing games and apps, while some menus were also redesigned. PS4 4.00 also added HDR support for all PS4s. You can see everything new and changed for PS4 4.00 in GameSpot’s previous report.
If Fifa 17 has left you feeling more deflated than England’s performance against Iceland, it might just be time to return to the golden era of the beautiful game. While the likes of Shearer, Gascoigne and Seaman might be missing today, fans of Sensible World of Soccer can once again relive their youth with an all new data pack for the ‘16/17 season.
As much as we love the Game Boy Color it’s safe to say that the lack of light behind the handheld’s screen makes for some frustrating gaming. While some retro gamers have managed to illuminate the console’s visuals through front lights stripped from a Game Boy Advance SP, a more impressive backlit solution appears to be just round the corner.
After an incredible debut announcement just over a year ago, one of the hottest homebrew developments in the retro gaming world is now nearing release. Having turned to Kickstarter to help fund the project, the brains behind Tanglewood is aiming to get this upcoming game into Mega Drive consoles around the world come late 2017.
