As upset as many are that The LEGO Movie didn’t get an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Film, and it also lost the Golden Globe, fans of animation should still be happy that a film like DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon 2 is still getting plenty of love during awards season. It’s a rare worthy sequel that is just as good, if not maybe a little better, than its predecessor with a story that still has a lot of heart, beautiful visuals and a fantastic adventure. Back in the fall of 2013, we learned that “Game of Thrones” star Peter Dinklage was going to star in an R-rated comedy where he played a man who tells people that he’s a leprechaun. Now Deadline has word that the film is called O’Lucky Day, and Hairspray and Rock of Ages director Adam Shankman is in talks to get behind the camera. Some more details on the story have also surfaced as it’s described as following a con man who may or may not be a real leprechaun, but at the very least, convinces people that he is one. However, with Shankman on board as director, I’m not entirely sure this will be R-rated comedy anymore. ›››

This is a huge year for “Saturday Night Live.” Coming up this weekend we have the live 40th anniversary special airing the evening of Sunday, February 15th, and it will be chock full of cast members, all-star hosts and of course clips from the late night sketch series’ long run on the air. And now we’ll get an in-depth look at the history of “SNL” in the form of a new documentary called Live from New York!, and it’s just been announced as the opening night film of the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City on Wednesday, April 15th. There are some evening screenings of Kingsman: The Secret Service hitting theaters tonight, and we’ll finally get to see the wild spy action adventure director Matthew Vaughn has cooked up, based on Mark Millar’s comic of the same name. And it sounds like Vaughn already has some big ideas for the sequel. The director recently chatted with Moviefone and while there’s no deal in place for a sequel, if the film does well at the box office this weekend, you can bet 20th Century Fox will want to see more of the secret agent organization on the big screen, and Vaughn is game for coming back, “I’d love to do another one.” Read on! ›››

Last fall, Dwayne Johnson officially made his choice to play Black Adam in the DC Comics adaptation of Shazam. We’ve got plenty of time before that film gets off the ground since it doesn’t arrive until April 5th, 2019, but that doesn’t mean Johnson isn’t getting questions about the project at every turn. Well, Johnson spoke to Games Radar (via SlashFilm) about his forthcoming role in the the DC Comics universe, and despite earlier indications that Shazam might not tie into the world of Justice League, Johnson says their film will indeed be part of that universe. However, this isn’t full of the whimsy and cheesy romance that we’re used to seeing in trailers for these kind of films. Instead, this one seems geared towards the Fifty Shades of Grey audiences (it’s probably playing before the film this weekend) with pretty steamy moments between Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood. Technically, we’ve already gotten a first look at the anticipated adaptation of the Marvel Comics character Deadpool that 20t Century Fox finally decided to bring to theaters next year. What really pushed production of the film forward was the excitement that resulted from the leaked test reel that featured Ryan Reynolds in the title role. Now the film is exactly one year away today, and Reynolds has teased the arrival of the Merc with a Mouth by posting a behind the scenes photo from the set of the film. It’s not much, but we do see a prototype of the mask Reynolds will be wearing for part of the film. Samuel L. Jackson stars in the film as the President of the United States, stuck in the wilderness after a terrorist attack brings down Air Force One. The only person in the vicinity to help keep him safe is a young 13-year old hunter named Oskari. Together, they have to survive and fight back against the terrorists. Last summer we got an early first look at the thriller Regression from director Alejandro Amenábar while the film was still in production. Now we have the first trailer from Spain, and it’s certainly a tease of the thrills to come. It’s very ominous, only introducing Ethan Hawke as a detective questioning a visibly shaken Emma Watson who has experience something terrible. And what starts as an isolated case suddenly turns into something horrifying with ties around the entire country. It should be interesting seeing a thriller like this again in the hands of Amenábar, and I’m very anxious to see more from the film. Watch! ›››

The fantastical story follows a woman named Adaline (Blake Lively) who stops aging after a near-fatal accident decades ago. She attempts to lead an isolated life, refusing to fall in love for fear of losing her lover to time, until she meets one (Michiel Huisman) that might change her life.
