Watch: Awesome Mad Max + Star Wars Mash-Up Video 'Road Wars'

    Road Wars

“You want to get through this?… Do as I say.” Awesome! Mash up the excellent Mad Max: Fury Road with Star Wars and you get this – Road Wars: The Imperator Strikes Back. Created by Krishna Shenoi, this fun mash-up YouTube trailer combines the full Mad Max: Fury Road trailer with sleek Star Wars bits and it’s kind of amazing. A bit like Fury Road if it were set on Tatooine instead, complete with the sand people taking pot shots, and Tie Fighters, and lightsabers, and the Sarlacc pit of course. I’m glad there’s a shot or two of the pod racers tossed in, because they kind of fit perfectly as well. Nice work on this mash-up. ›››

    Batman v Superman IMAX Trailer

“This means something… it’s all some people have, it’s all that gives them hope.” Warner Bros has debuted a new IMAX trailer for Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that is a condensed version of the new Comic-Con teaser. There are a few new shots of Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) in this one, which is cool to see, but it’s still pretty much the same of what we’ve seen before. And same as before I think this looks awesome, way more exciting than what Marvel is doing. Henry Cavill plays Superman, Ben Affleck plays Batman, Amy Adams plays Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg plays Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons plays Alfred. This ends on a very cool shot that finally puts meaning to “The red capes are coming…” ›››

  • Review: Marvel's 'Ant-Man' Stands In Some Pretty Big Footprints

Review: Marvel's 'Ant-Man' Stands In Some Pretty Big Footprints

    Marvel's Ant-Man

Marvel’s Ant-Man could have been the strangest superhero movie to date. The comic character who can shrink himself down to minuscule sizes – and, in the comics, blow himself up to gigantic heights – and has a telekinetic link to our ant population had countless avenues in which to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Our minds could have been blown despite the inundation of superhero stories since Spider-Man first leapt onto the screen 13 years ago. Instead, fun as it might be, the Ant-Man we get is a basic, hardly-any-frills, comic book origin story. Its potential for strangeness aside, the movie delivers on all the surface-level excitement & adventure you’ve come to expect from Marvel. You just expect a bit more, as well. ›››

Interview: An Afternoon Chat with Ian McKellen from 'Mr. Holmes'

    Ian McKellen

“I like to arrive in front of the camera with all the information that I can possibly need.” He’s a legend. I was lucky enough to get a chance to meet up with actor Ian McKellen in New York City earlier this week for an afternoon interview. I met at his hotel near Central Park, and we spoke briefly before his appearance on a Reddit AMA. We could’ve chatted for the entire afternoon, but I didn’t want to delay him any further. I interviewed him for his new film Mr. Holmes, where plays an aging Sherlock Holmes. I saw the film in Berlin and loved it so much that my effusive quote is featured in the trailer and on the official poster for the film. He’s played many of my favorite characters, and I tried to ask some interesting questions about acting. ›››

  • Neill Blomkamp Shows Off More Concept Art for His 'Alien' Movie

Neill Blomkamp Shows Off More Concept Art for His 'Alien' Movie

    Neill Blomkamp - Alien

There’s a line of dialogue missing from this scene. Director Neill Blomkamp just posted a new hint on social media at some of the concept art for his Alien movie in the works. We’ve been following development on this closely ever since it was announced that Blomkamp would be working with Ridley Scott on a new Alien. This art shows that Sigourney Weaver as Ripley and Michael Biehn as Captain Hicks definitely seem to have a role in this new one. There’s also a glimpse at some kind of mech that seems to be a signature Blomkamp suit of armor to the side. Neill only said: “#alien going very well. Love this project.” View below. ›››

  • Must Watch: First Trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu's 'The Revenant'

Must Watch: First Trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu's 'The Revenant'

    The Revenant

It’s time! 20th Century Fox has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s The Revenant and it’s jaw-dropping stunning. This film has been shooting in Canada for the last six months. It’s taking so long because cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki is filming using only natural light, no lighting equipment or fillers or anything. You can tell what that looks like with this footage and it’s remarkable. Leonardo DiCaprio stars as a frontiersman in the 1800s who sets out on a path of vengeance against those who left him for dead after a bear mauling. The cast includes Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, Will Poulter and Lukas Haas. This looks like one of the finest movies of the year, hands down. You don’t want to miss this! ›››

Watch: First Trailer for Joe Swanberg's New Film 'Digging for Fire'

    Digging for Fire

“There’s garbage in the ground… If you dig far enough, you’ll find a landfill.” The Orchard has debuted the first official trailer for Joe Swanberg’s newest film Digging for Fire, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. This time Swanberg doesn’t appear in it, instead this stars Jake Johnson along with an eclectic cast including: Jane Adams, Rosemarie Dewitt, Orlando Bloom, Brie Larson, Sam Rockwell, Anna Kendrick and Mike Birbiglia. It’s essentially an examination of everyone’s going on in life at this point, by way of a party with a bunch of friends. It’s good, not great, but this is a fun trailer. ›››
