    Victoria Trailer

One girl. One city. One night. One take. Adopt Films has debuted the official US trailer for award-winning (Silver Berlin Bear) German film Victoria, a thriller presented entirely in one-take, one-shot. As one of the quotes in this explains: “Victoria stunningly (merges) the chases from Run Lola Run and the magical realist feel of Birdman.” The film stars Laia Costa as Victoria. This does look like it’s going to be incredible to see in one-shot, there’s so much that seems to happen in 2 hours. This is one film I missed at Berlinale, but I’m incredibly anxious to see it. Mostly because I have a feeling it might end up on my Top 10 list. Take a look. ›››

    Stars Wars

“You kill me, you won’t see a cent of that gold.” There’s always time for a Star Wars short film. Below you can watch the short film The Good, The Bad and The Ugly parody mash-up directed by Calvin Evans. It’s basically Star Wars, featuring Han Solo, Greedo and Boba Fett, as if it were literally a Sergio Leone western. The actual dialogue isn’t that great, but the effects are excellent, the opening titles are perfect, and they just get so much of the atmosphere right that I can’t help but admire the work on this short. There’s even a nice poster to go along with it. It’s a quick 5-min mash-up that’s worth watching, so fire it up. Enjoy! ›››

Full-Length Trailer for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2' is Here

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2

“The game is coming to its end…” Lionsgate has unveiled the full-length theatrical trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, a mesmerizing look at the epic finale in theaters this November. Directed again by Francis Lawrence, Mockingjay – Part 2 finally pits Katniss, an angry Jennifer Lawrence, against President Snow, Donald Sutherland, in a showdown on his own turf. The trailer shows a glimpse of the entire Capitol turned into a booby-trapped maze of nasty things, including some odd zombie-like creatures, out to get the good guys in Snow’s final effort to destroy them before the revolution takes over once and for all. I’m admittedly crazy excited for this and can’t wait to see if it lives up to the hype. Unite with Katniss! ›››

    Freeheld Trailer

“If you could have anything, what would it be? What’s your dream?” Lionsgate has debuted the official trailer for Peter Sollett’s new film Freeheld, a moving drama starring Ellen Page and Julianne Moore as domestic partners. The story focuses on their struggle to keep a pension intact when Laurel Hester, played by Julianne Moore, is diagnosed with cancer. The supporting cast includes Steve Carell, Michael Shannon, Josh Charles and Luke Grimes. This has one of those very inspirational, hopeful, powerful messages of “change the world” at the end, complete with pop song. But it also looks really good, especially the two lead performances. Ellen Page looks to be at her best, and Moore is always at her best. #loveislove ›››

    Vacation Red Band Final Trailer

“What kind of a family are you?!” Warner Bros has let loose one final red band trailer for the Vacation sequel/reboot, starring Ed Helms as Rusty Griswold and the rest of the his family: Christina Applegate, Skyler Gisondo and Steele Stebbins. The cast also includes appearances by Chris Hemsworth, Leslie Mann, Charlie Day and Ron Livingston, plus the original Griswolds though they’re not really in this trailer much. At this point we’ve seen so many trailers I just hope they’re not ruining the best parts or the best jokes, at least saving something for the actual movie. Arriving in theaters in just a few weeks. Have fun! ›››

New York Film Fest Announces Don Cheadle's 'Miles Ahead' as Closer

    Miles Ahead

It’s official. The New York Film Festival has announced the film that will be playing as the Closing Night Feature at this year’s 53rd festival, beginning this fall. The film is Don Cheadle’s directorial debut, Miles Ahead, in which Cheadle plays legendary musician Miles Davis. We posted a first look photo last year, and have been waiting for an update ever since. The opening night film was selected as Robert Zemeckis’ The Walk, and the rest of the line-up will be revealed closer to the opening on September 25th. Don Cheadle stated: “I am happy that the selection committee saw fit to invite us to the dance. It’s very gratifying that all the hard work that went into the making of this film, from every person on the team, has brought us here.” ›››

  • Patrick Wilson Plays a Sex-Addicted Politician in Trailer for 'Zipper'

Patrick Wilson Plays a Sex-Addicted Politician in Trailer for 'Zipper'

    Zipper Trailer

“I set out to help people, I never said I was better than them…” Alchemy has debuted the trailer for the sex thriller Zipper, which dramatizes the sexual urges of a man on the cusp of a bright future. Patrick Wilson stars as a politician on the rise who ends up losing everything “due to his inability to fight off his obsessive temptation for other women.” This is a thriller because they really play up the angle of “look how deadly this can be to your life!” with all the endless infidelity. The cast also includes Lena Headey, Dianna Agron, Alexandra Breckenridge, Richard Dreyfuss, John Cho and Ray Winstone. This looks interesting, but at the same time I’d kind of rather just go back and watch Joe Carnahan’s Stretch again. Give it a watch. ›››

Watch: Indie Sci-Fi Trailer 'One & Two' from Andrew Droz Palermo

    One & Two

“This thing we have… we never asked for it, but it’s part of me.” Whoa. IFC Midnight has unveiled the official trailer for one of their interesting sci-fi indies, called One & Two, from up-and-coming filmmaker Andrew Droz Palermo. From what I can tell, the film is about two kids – a brother and sister – who have the ability to teleport. But they’re stuck in a time when this power is perceived as the Devil’s work. I hate to make this comparison, but it kind of seems like Chronicle if it were a dramatic period piece. The description says they have “terrifying supernatural powers” but it seems as if they’re limited mostly to teleportation. I’m very intrigued by this, I love the score and the way it builds, I really, really want to see it. Take a look below. ›››

    Spectre Movie Trailer

“Tell me where he is…?” “He’s everywhere! Eon Productions + Sony Pictures have debuted the full-length trailer for Sam Mendes’ Spectre, the 24th James Bond movie, starring Daniel Craig as Agent 007. The very first teaser was a nice glimpse at the new Bond adventure, but this time we really dive into the story and all of the characters he encounters along the way. From Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q and Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, to the new Bond girls Monica Bellucci, Léa Seydoux and Stephanie Sigman, as well as bad guys Christoph Waltz as Franz Oberhauser and Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx. I’m loving the way this looks, with sleek cinematography by Hoyte Van Hoytema. Damn this looks stunning! ›››
