The images, which you can see below, show a large-scale battle featuring the game’s Space Marine and Eldar races. Two of the game’s key new additions, the Imperial Knights and orbital laser strikes, are also featured prominently in the shots.

To mark the announcement of Dawn of War 3, Sega released an impressive CG trailer depicting the ongoing war between the Orks, Space Marines, and Eldar. Relic Entertainment has said the game is the “Dawn of War that fans have been waiting for.”

“Our biggest units ever? Check. Giant orbital lasers? Check. Base-building, epic heroes, huge battles, it’s all in there. Get ready for the biggest Dawn of War yet,” said executive producer Stephen MacDonald.

Dawn of War 3 is expected for release on PC. Plans for a release on additional platforms and a launch date were not specified.

Sega registered domains for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 3 in July 2015. Then, on May 2, 2016, it teased a new entry.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 2 was released in 2009. The 2004 original and the sequel were developed by Company of Heroes studio Relic Entertainment, which was sold to Sega for $26.6 million as part of the THQ bankruptcy. This is the first entry in the series Relic has developed as a studio wholly owned by Sega.

  • The Division's Daily Missions Go Missing Again, Ubisoft Looking Into "Permanent Solution"

The Division's Daily Missions Go Missing Again, Ubisoft Looking Into "Permanent Solution"

Ubisoft’s The Division is having more problems.

Developer Ubisoft Massive announced on Twitter today that, for the second time in less than a month, the game’s Daily Missions have vanished. The studio is now “looking into” how it can permanently fix this issue.

“We are aware that Daily Missions are missing once again today,” Ubisoft said. “A permanent solution to this recurring problem is being looked into.”

The Division’s Daily Missions disappeared in early April due to a bug, but were later restored. Ubisoft did not share any further insight into the problem that’s causing the Daily Missions to vanish or what steps it is taking towards the aforementioned solution.

We’ll report back with new information as it becomes available.

Outside of this problem, Ubisoft recently frankly acknowledged the game’s recent glitch/exploit problems and outlined the steps it’s taking to provide a “smooth, high-quality experience.” One part of this was a massive wave of suspensions and bans for cheaters.

The Division launched in March for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It was the top-selling physical game in the US during the month, while it was also reportedly the highest-grossing digital console game worldwide.

  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare PS4/Xbox One Digital Preorder Bonuses

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is now available to preorder. Sony and Microsoft are encouraging you to pick up a digital copy by offering some special incentives. Everyone who preorders the futuristic FPS from either the PlayStation Store or Xbox Store will receive 1,000 Call of Duty Points for use in Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

Call of Duty Points, a form of virtual currency, were introduced to Black Ops III last year. 1,000 points normally sells for around $10, but if you don’t own Black Ops III, this preorder bonus isn’t too exciting.

Sony is further encouraging you to preorder the PS4 version by offering a new theme. It’s a dynamic theme, featuring some music, as well as particles that float around in the background. You can see the theme in action through the video below, from YouTube user MadMoneyBanks (via DualShockers).

The Call of Duty Points bonus and dynamic theme are available with the preorder of any version of the game, including the $60 base package, the $80 Legacy Edition, and the $100 Digital Deluxe version.

The Legacy and Digital Deluxe editions also come with the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare remaster. Infinite Warfare launches on November 4 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It appears that Activision is not bringing the game to last-generation consoles.

  • Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Skipping PS3/Xbox 360, It Seems

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Skipping PS3/Xbox 360, It Seems

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare was announced this week only for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but some might have wondered if the game, or a version of it, would also be on the way for last-generation consoles.

Now, it looks like that will not be the case. Someone asked developer Infinity Ward on Twitter if Infinite Warfare was coming to PlayStation 3, to which the studio responded, “No, it will not.” If it’s not coming to PS3, then presumably it will not be made for Xbox 360, either.

GameSpot has followed up with Activision in an attempt to confirm this and find out why the company is leaving last-generation consoles behind.

2015’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III was released for current- and previous-generation systems. However, the PS3/Xbox 360 version of that game did not include a campaign, but instead only multiplayer and Zombies.

With the PS4 and Xbox One console generation taking hold, currently accounting for at least 55 million consoles sold between the them according to estimates, it’s not much of a surprise that the Call of Duty series is leaving older consoles behind. It was only a matter of time, and now, it appears Infinite Warfare is ushering in a new era of current-generation only Call of Duty releases.

Some have criticized cross-generational development, claiming that needing to deliver the same game on different hardware can lead to “compromises.” As such, Call of Duty moving to new-generation systems only may end up being a boon for the series, though that remains to be seen.

Infinite Warfare launches on November 4. GameSpot recently spoke with design director Jacob Minkoff, who told us why the game is going to space and what that allows.

Also on the way is a Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare remaster. Activision recently showcased the game’s many graphical improvements as part of a comparison video.

  • Star Trek TV Show Shooting Location and Start Date Announced

Star Trek TV Show Shooting Location and Start Date Announced

While Star Trek has become a massive box office draw in the past few years, it has been over a decade since the long-running sci-fi franchise was seen on TV. This will change next year, when a new Star Trek show premieres, and the shooting location and start date has now been confirmed.

As announced by CBS on twitter, the new show will begin production this Fall, in Canada:

This just in! The new #STARTREK TV series will set course for Toronto and begin filming this fall. #CBSAllAccess

    — CBS TV Studios (@CBSTVStudios) May 2, 2016

While the title, cast, and broadcast date are yet to be announced, it was revealed in Februay that former Hannibal showrunner Bryan Fuller will oversee the show, alongside Alex Kurtzman, who co-wrote the last two movie adventures.

While the first episode will be broadcast on the CBS network channel, all subsequent episodes will initially screen on the company’s All Access digital subscription service, making it the first show to launch on a broadcast network but air primarily on a VOD service. The last series was Star Trek: Enterprise, which ran for four seasons between 2001 and 2005.

In other Star Trek news, Trekmovie has reported that the CBS sister company Paramount, which produce the movies, has registered the title Star Trek 4 with the MPAA. This is no guarantee that a fourth film will go into production, but it does indicate that the studio is hoping to continue the franchise past this summer’s Star Trek Beyond, which opens on July 22.

Disclosure: CBS is GameSpot’s parent company.

  • Nintendo Didn't Want to "Rush" NX Launch, Says System Won't Be Sold at a Loss

Nintendo has shared some new details on its upcoming NX system. The English translation of Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima’s Q&A session with investors was published today. As part of this, someone asked if the NX would be sold at a loss like the Wii U was in 2012. Kimishima said this is not expected to be the case–and explained why.

“We are not thinking of launching the hardware at a loss,” he said. “When Wii U was launched, the yen was very strong. I am assuming that situation will not repeat itself. Selling at a loss at launch would not support the business, so we are keeping that mind in developing NX.”

It is not uncommon for gaming hardware to be sold at a loss, with the money made back by more margin-rich things like games and accessories.

The NX, or whatever it ends up being called, is slated to launch in March 2017. It is not expected to have much of presence at E3 2016 in June.

Some had expected Nintendo to launch the system in time for the busy year-end holiday shopping season. Kimishima said one of the reasons why Nintendo chose March 2017 as the NX’s release window was to ensure that “the software lineup will be ready in time for the hardware launch.”

Responding to another analyst’s question about the NX release window, Kimishima again stressed that having a solid launch lineup is important.

“We believe that when launching hardware, the amount of quality software for consumers to play that is available at launch is important, and that we ought to determine our launch dates based on this,” he said.

“The fact that consumers spend more money in the holiday season may be a big factor in why launching then is a good way to start. However, our hardware and software business structure does not end in that year. We want consumers to continue to play this game system for many years, so we believe that in the beginning it is most important to make sure that everything is in order at launch. In that sense, our approach is that we should wait until we can provide a fully realized experience rather than rushing to launch in the holiday season, and this approach has not changed.”

You can read Nintendo’s summary of Kimishima’s Q&A session here on Nintendo’s corporate website.

The NX has been described by Nintendo as a “brand-new concept.” According to a Wall Street Journal report, it will be a console/mobile hybrid that uses “industry-leading” technology.

In other Nintendo news, the company has confirmed that the new Legend of Zelda, previously only announced for Wii U, is also coming to the NX. You can catch up on all the big Nintendo news in this new roundup.

  • Call of Duty 4 Remaster Confirmed, Detailed

The rumors were right. As part of its Call of Duty Infinite Warfare announcement today, Activision also confirmed that it’s remastering 2007’s fan-favorite Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

The original game was made by Infinity Ward (which is developing Infinite Warfare), but development on the remaster for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC is behind done by Activision subsidiary Raven Software. Infinity Ward is of course involved with the production, as it is executively producing the game.

It’s being called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. According to a press release, it will feature “vibrant current generation visuals, with fully improved texture resolution and detail, high-dynamic range lighting, lit and shadowing VFX particles, revamped animation and audio, stunning sound, and much more.”

You can see the game in action at the end of Infinite Warfare’s announcement trailer above.

The full campaign from the 2007 game is included, and there is also multiplayer. However, the online multiplayer mode is limited to ten “fan-favorite” maps. The full list was not announced, but the confirmed maps so far are “Crash,” “Backlot,” and “Crossfire.”

“The original Modern Warfare raised the bar on video games and forever will be remembered as one of the best,” Raven studio head Brian Raffel said in a statement. “It’s an honor to be developing the remaster and we are committed to faithfully remastering this classic for Call of Duty fans.”

Modern Warfare’s remastered version is included with the following Infinite Warfare editions:

    • Legacy Edition and Digital Legacy Edition ($80) -Includes both Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
    • Digital Deluxe Edition ($100) – Includes Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered and Season Pass
    • Legacy Pro Edition ($120) – Includes Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, Season Pass, collectible Steelbook, official game soundtrack, and additional digital items

Activision did not say if it plans to sell Modern Warfare Remastered by itself. We’ll report back with new details as they become available.

Infinite Warfare launches on November 4. For more, check out GameSpot’s roundup of everything we know so far.
