  • Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition Release Date Is A Little Later For New Players In Europe And Australia

Capcom has detailed the precise release dates for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition in Europe, Middle-East, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, revealing that those buying the game for the first time will get it a little later than players upgrading from the existing version.

The confirmed in a Twitter post that both the physical and digital versions of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be available to purchase on PlayStation 4 on January 19. However, if you already have Street Fighter V, you’ll be able to upgrade to Arcade Edition and begin playing from January 16.

The Steam release of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, meanwhile, will also launch on January 16 regardless of whether you’re buying for the first time or upgrading. Capcom has not yet provided an exact time for when the Arcade Edition upgrade patch will be available or when it will go live on Steam yet.

Capcom has not indicated there will be a similarly staggered launch for Arcade Edition in the US. We have asked the company for confirmation and will update this story when it is provided.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition is a new version of Capcom’s flagship fighting game that includes all the post-release content from Season 1 and Season 2 of the game, as well as a number of new gameplay changes. It will feature a total of 28 fighters, comprised of the original roster plus the DLC characters.

In terms of gameplay, Arcade Edition introduces a second V-Trigger for every character. This, according to Capcom, “will significantly change their playstyle.” Also being added is a new Arcade Mode “ripe with nostalgia,” an Extra Battle Mode, a gallery, and a redesigned user-interface. Further information on the new Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition content can be found here.

  • Top 10 UK Sales Chart – FIFA 18 Denies Call Of Duty: WW2 A Series Record

After reaching nine consecutive weeks at the top of the UK physical sales chart last week–the same number in a row as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 reached after its 2009 launch–Call of Duty: WWII was one more No.1 away from breaking a series record. However, FIFA 18 starts the new year strongly at the chart’s summit, meaning the latest Call of Duty must settle for equaling the franchise record.

Below the perennially popular pair lies another long-term favorite, Grand Theft Auto V, which finishes in the top 40 for the 225th consecutive week, according to sales monitor GfK Chart-Track. The open-world game has never finished outside the top 40 since its original launch in 2013, and 85% of its placements have been in the top 10.

Elsewhere, the physical Xbox One version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds re-enters the top 10 for the week ending January 6. It’s at No.7 this week, and recently passed 3 million concurrent users on PC.

You can read the full top 10 sales chart below, courtesy of UKIE and GfK Chart-Track. Note this table does not include digital sales data, and so should not be considered representative of all UK game sales.

    1. FIFA 18
    2. Call of Duty: WWII
    3. Grand Theft Auto V
    4. Assassin’s Creed Origins
    5. Star Wars Battlefront II
    6. The Sims 4
    7. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

  • Destiny 2 Xur Location Guide: Where's Xur And What's He Selling? (Jan. 5-9)

Destiny 2 Xur Location Guide: Where's Xur And What's He Selling? (Jan. 5-9)

For the first time in 2018, Destiny 2‘s mysterious merchant, Xur, has arrived in-game. As always, he has a selection of Exotic gear for sale in return for Legendary Shards, along with two of the other items he recently began selling. Below, we’ve laid out exactly where to find Xur and what he’s offering up this week–and you won’t need to own Curse of Osiris to pick up any of it.

For this appearance, Xur can be found on Io. To reach him, you’ll want to spawn in at the Giant’s Scar Landing Zone and jump on your sparrow. Head straight and just to the right, through the opening of the structure in front of you, and then follow the path to the left a short ways. Xur is just up the hill on the left, inside an otherwise nondescript cave.

In terms of what he’s selling, as usual he has the Three of Coins, which boosts your likelihood of receiving an Exotic drop for four hours. (Keep in mind, a Three of Coins fix is on the way, as it doesn’t currently affect everything that it should.) You can also pick up the pricey Fated Engram, which is guaranteed to net you an Exotic that you don’t already own. Alternatively, he has an excellent Exotic fusion rifle, Merciless, which is absolutely worth picking up if you don’t already own one. Each class also has one piece of Exotic armor available, all of which, like Merciless, are from the base game, and not Curse of Osiris. Here’s the full Xur store lineup:

    • Merciless (Exotic Fusion Rifle) — 29 Legendary Shards
    • Young Ahamkara’s Spine (Exotic Hunter Gauntlets) — 23 Legendary Shards
    • Mask of the Quiet One (Exotic Titan Helmet) — 23 Legendary Shards
    • Wings of Sacred Dawn (Exotic Warlock Chest Armor) — 23 Legendary Shards
    • Fated Engram — 97 Legendary Shards
    • Three of Coins — 31 Legendary Shards

This selection of gear will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One from now until the weekly reset takes place on January 9. Also available until then is the ongoing Dawning event, which provides some new things to do and new gear to collect. Destiny 2 recently saw the release of a small update which re-opened Iron Banner and Faction Rally events to all players, including non-DLC owners. News is expected soon about the next occurrences of both events.

  • Final Beta For Monster Hunter World Announced With New Content, But It's PS4-Only Again

Those eager to get their hands on Monster Hunter World will be able to sample it once again as part of a final beta test for the upcoming game. Unlike the second beta that ran in December, this one will introduce some new content, but it’ll unfortunately once again be limited to PlayStation 4.

Capcom announced the third and final beta test today, which will run just days before the game’s full release. The PS4 beta begins at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET on January 18, or 2 AM GMT on January 19. It concludes on January 21 (or 22) at the same time.

Monster Hunter World’s first beta was conducted in early December, exclusively for PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS4. A second beta followed later in the month for all PS4 owners consisting of the same two areas and three monsters to hunt: the Great Jagras, Anjanath, and Barroth. All of that will be present in this final beta, but you’ll also get to square off against World’s flagship monster, the Nergigante.

Nergigante is an Elder Dragon and the monster featured on World’s box art. The full game also sees the return of several other Elder Dragons, as well as the introduction of some new ones, which are showcased in World’s new trailer.

Monster Hunter World launches for PS4 and Xbox One on January 26. It’s also headed to PC, with Capcom recently saying that version will arrive this fall. The PS4 version has gotten not only preferential treatment with betas, but it will also receive exclusive content themed around Horizon: Zero Dawn. Capcom has similarly announced a limited-edition Monster Hunter PS4 controller and Starter Pack bundles, but only for Japan. World’s first free “major” DLC arrives sometime this spring and adds a new monster.

  • Multiple Ubisoft Games Having Server Issues On PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC

If you’re looking to hop online with Rainbow Six: Siege or Ghost Recon: Wildlands tonight, you might not be able to. These two titles, and several other Ubisoft games, are currently facing connection issues on multiple platforms.

Ubisoft sent a message to its followers on Twitter confirming it is aware of the issues, and noted that it is working to resolve them.

We are aware of server issues impacting multiple games. Our technical team is investigating and working on resolving this as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and we will continue to update this thread as new information becomes available: https://t.co/myd5dDcFLh

    — Ubisoft Support (@UbisoftSupport) January 6, 2018

Expect intermittent disconnections and longer queue waits for multiplayer, and don’t expect to be able to reach other online services, forums, and websites. Seven different Ubisoft games on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Xbox 360 are being affected at the time of publication.

The following titles are currently facing connection issues:

Tonight’s connection issues seem to be following a recent string of server issues for Ubisoft titles. On January 4, it seems a similar issue occurred to several titles, including Rainbow Six: Siege, on Xbox One.

Ubisoft has not confirmed what the root cause of these issues are, but these titles are far from the only ones being impacted today. Fortnite and Fortnite Battle Royale are also facing service issues, but only after updates addressing Intel’s Meltdown vulnerabilities.

Ubisoft’s latest update at 8:30 PM EDT stated that the support team is still working to resolve tonight’s connection issues. More updates and information on the situation is available in a forum post here.

  • Fortnite Faces Service Issues After Intel Vulnerability Updates

Epic Games’ Fortnite and Fortnite Battle Royale may see some service issues over the following days due to cloud updates. While you might be having some issues logging in or playing the game for a little while, the upside is your information will be more secure in the long term.

Announced via Twitter yesterday, Epic Games’ cloud systems are lagging due to updates intended to address Intel’s Meltdown vulnerability. The two titles may be impacted by these updates for as long as a week; Epic has not detailed if this is an exclusive problem to PC, or if it also affects consoles.

PSA: Our cloud services were affected by updates required to mitigate the Meltdown vulnerability. We rely on cloud services to run our backend and we may experience further service issues in the next few days due to ongoing updates.
    Additional info: https://t.co/89nG9wEh8J

    — Fortnite (@FortniteGame) January 5, 2018

Meltdown, and one other vulnerability called Spectre, were discovered by researchers earlier this week in all Intel processors released since 2011. Very simply, these hardware bugs go largely undetected by anti-virus software and are capable of stealing user information. According to Wired, the updates needed to get around these vulnerabilities are already here for Windows, Android, macOS, iOS, Chrome OS, and Linux.

Epic shared this website for more detailed information on what exactly Meltdown and Spectre actually are, who discovered them, and what companies are involved or may have been affected. PCGamer also has a detailed report of these vulnerabilities and how they affect you, your information, and your PC.

More updates regarding Fortnite and Fortnite Battle Royale’s performance during these updates will be announced via the Fortnite Twitter. Epic also has an open forum post about the situation here.

Dragon Ball FighterZ PC: Release Date, Specs, And Requirements Revealed

With the release of Dragon Ball FighterZ drawing closer, Bandai Namco Games took to Twitter to release info about the required specs needed for the game’s PC version. The game will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One on January 25. Developed by Arc System Works, the same team behind the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue series, Dragon Ball FighterZ possesses a visual style that mimics the popular anime.

In addition to the specs listed below, the publisher offered more details about pre-order bonuses for the game, which include early access to Goku and Vegeta’s Super Saiyan Blue forms, along with exclusive avatars to use in the in-game lobby. Moreover, pre-ordering the game will give you access to the pre-launch beta. The game is currently available to pre-order on Steam.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Windows 7/8/10 (64bit OS required)
    • AMD FX-4350, 4.2 GHz/Intel core i5-3470, 3.20 GHZ 4GB RAM
    • Radeon HD 6870, 1GB / GeForce GTX 650 Ti, 1GB DirectX 11
    • DirectX compatible soundcard or onboard chipset

    Recommended Requirements:

    • Windows 7/8/10 (64bit OS required)
    • AMD Ryzen 5 1400, 3.2 GHz / Intel Core i7-3770, 3.40 GHz 8GB RAM
