Final 'Terror' Trailer for Computer Horror Film 'Unfriended: Dark Web'

    Unfriended: Dark Web Trailer

“The most evil film Blumhouse has ever made.” Now that’s a killer quote. Universal has debuted a second & final trailer for horror sequel Unfriended: Dark Web, produced by Blumhouse, the follow-up to the screen horror movie Unfriended from 2014. The film unfolds in real-time on computer screens, following a guy and his friends who discover something on his new computer. He “discovers that the previous owner is not only watching him, but will also do anything to get it back.” The cast includes Betty Gabriel, Andrew Lees, Colin Woodell, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Connor Del Rio, Chelsea Alden, Savira Windyani, and Stephanie Nogueras. This whole concept still seems way too gimmicky for horror, can’t say I’m into this at all. But it might play well with horror fans waiting for something terrifying this summer. Watch out. ›››

Watch: 'A Report Of Connected Events' Video Fuses Cinema & Reality

    A Report Of Connected Events

“In the end we’ll all become stories. Make sure yours will be the greatest ever told.” An impressive promo video has been created titled A Report Of Connected Events, made by PostPanic as a “branded content film” for Liberty Global. Directed by Mischa Rozema, this video combines cinema/storytelling with reality by implementing moments from film & TV into actual real footage of our world. This is almost like one of those images where you have to find all of the pop culture references, but with even more going on because they’re hidden in every scene and every shot of this. Some of it is cool, some of it is crazy, some of it is weird – like the fully rendered Ghibli characters. I still think it is worth a watch because it is so unique and geeky. ›››

  • New Full-Length Trailer for Paul Feig's Martini Mystery 'A Simple Favor'

New Full-Length Trailer for Paul Feig's Martini Mystery 'A Simple Favor'

    A Simple Favor Trailer

“Oh, you do not want to be friends with me. Trust me.” After two impressive teaser trailers earlier this year, Lionsgate has finally debuted the full-length official trailer for the mystery film A Simple Favor, the latest from acclaimed director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy, Ghostbusters). This is looking better and better the more we see, I’m so very curious. Anna Kendrick plays a mommy vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind her best friend’s sudden disappearance from their small town. Blake Lively co-stars as Emily, and this also features Linda Cardellini, Henry Golding, Rupert Friend, Eric Johnson, Jean Smart, Sarah Baker, and Andrew Rannells. I love the title card saying “From the Dark Side of Director Paul Feig” – a perfect way to describe his switch from comedy to this. I’m so ready for it, bring on the truth. ›››

Fun Trailer for Adorable Netflix Animated Comedy 'Duck Duck Goose'

    Duck Duck Goose Trailer

“Am I crazy, or is your brother indestructible?” Netflix has launched the first official trailer for an animated adventure comedy titled Duck Duck Goose, which is a play on the name of the children’s chase game also known as “Duck Duck Goose“. The story is about a pompous bachelor goose who is forced to accompany two little lost ducklings as they journey south for the winter. Jim Gaffigan stars as the voice of Peng, joined by Zendaya, Lance Lim, Greg Proops, Reggie Watts, Natasha Leggero, Diedrich Bader, Stephen Fry, Craig Ferguson, Jennifer Grey, Rick Overton, and Carl Reiner. This looks cute and slightly amusing, but definitely for kids. Plus we all know how the story will play out and all the lessons he’ll learn. ›››

Official Trailer for Medical Documentary 'The Bleeding Edge' on Netflix

    The Bleeding Edge Trailer

“How can you clear something that’s been shown to be dangerous?” Netflix has debuted the trailer for a documentary titled The Bleeding Edge, the latest eye-opening film made by Academy Award-winning doc filmmakers Kirby Dick & Amy Ziering (The Invisible War, The Hunting Ground). The film shines a light on the unforeseen, dangerous consequences of advanced technological devices used in the medical field. It’s a damning exposé on the “unregulated, multi-billion dollar medical device industry” and how their profit-driven incentives put patients at risk daily. This is a compliment to another documentary this year, Mike Eisenberg’s To Err Is Human, also about medical errors and deaths caused my misdiagnosis. Both of these docs look like shocking, important, urgent films for our time that should make us think differently about the medical world. They may be scary to watch, but they’re both honest presentations of how we can be better. ›››

Opening Today: A Spectacular James Bond Experience – '007 Elements'

    007 Elements

“I’ve been expecting you, Mr. Bond…” There’s a brand new, one-of-a-kind cinematic installation now open on the top of a mountain in Austria and it’s amazing. Open to the public today (July 12th) in Sölden, Austria is 007 Elements, a new James Bond museum/experience that is a spectacular, sleek, thrilling permanent adventure into the world of 007 and its 56-year history. This installation has been under construction for two years, and it’s finally open. I was lucky enough to visit Sölden earlier this week and get a sneak preview inside of 007 Elements, joining a group of the most die-hard 007 fans from other Bond websites/fan clubs all over the world. We were all very seriously impressed. Sölden’s 007 Elements installation is even better than I expected, entirely worth the trek into the mountains and up to the top of Gaislachkogl to experience. ›››

    The Package Trailer

“I was just supposed to be camping!” Netflix has debuted an official trailer for an indie comedy titled The Package, the latest from Funny or Die filmmaker Jake Szymanski (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates). The wacky, stupid comedy is about a group of teenage friends who go on a spring break camping trip, but an accident causes them to change their plans in hopes of saving their friend. Yeah, it’s dumb and made for teenagers to get drunk and laugh at. The full cast for this includes Daniel Doheny, Geraldine Viswanathan, Sadie Calvano, Luke Spencer Roberts, Eduardo Franco, Michael Eklund, Gary Jones, Alexander Calvert, Sugar Lyn Beard, and Blake Anderson. These kind of dumb comedies are not for me, way too goofy and stupid and just not funny. But if you’re into this kind of humor, then have fun. ›››

  • Saoirse Ronan & Margot Robbie in First 'Mary Queen of Scots' Trailer

    Mary Queen of Scots Trailer

“Do not play into their hands – our hatred is precisely what they hope for…!” Focus Features has finally debuted the first official trailer for period drama Mary Queen of Scots, telling the story of the turbulent life of the charismatic Mary Stuart. She was Queen of France at 16 and then widowed at 18, deciding to return home to Scotland without a husband, where she has to carefully compete with her sister – Queen Elizabeth I of England, ruling over Scotland and England at the time. Saoirse Ronan plays Mary, Margot Robbie plays Elizabeth, with a superb ensemble cast including Gemma Chan, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, David Tennant, Jack Lowden, Brendan Coyle, Martin Compston, Ismael Cruz Cordova, and James McArdle. This is quite a powerful first trailer, pitting these two fierce women against each other. They both look to be giving extraordinary performances, which will make for a very exciting film to watch. • Review: Thurber's 'Skyscraper' is a Towering Achievement in Absurdity

    Skyscraper Review

With box office receipts exceeding $3 billion around the world so far, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has solidified himself as a global box office powerhouse. In recent years, the wrestler-turned-actor has earned a reputation as the hardest working man in Hollywood, starring in hits like Central Intelligence, Moana, The Fate of the Furious, and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle from last fall. Even his misses are still massive successes — both San Andreas and Rampage earned over $400 million worldwide, despite underwhelming critical response. Now, only three months after his last theatrical release, Johnson continues his shock-and-awe campaign for box office supremacy with the action-packed, Hong Kong-set skyscraper disaster film Skyscraper; further testament to the movie star’s enduring commitment to quantity over quality. ›››

  • Official Trailer for Horror 'Don't Leave Home' About a Painter in Ireland

    Don't Leave Home Trailer

“You might hear some strange things… don’t pay any attention to it.” Cranked Up Films has released an official US trailer for an indie horror thriller titled Don’t Leave Home, the latest feature from filmmaker Michael Tully (Cocaine Angel, Septien, Ping Pong Summer). This premiered at the SXSW Film Festival and it also played at the Sarasota, Montclair, and Galway Film Festivals. Don’t Leave Home is about an American artist’s obsession with a disturbing urban legend that takes her to an investigation of the story’s origins at the crumbling estate of a reclusive painter in Ireland. It’s being called “Get Out with Catholic guilt in the Irish countryside” and a film that proves “not all mysteries should be solved.” The film’s cast includes Anna Margaret Hollyman, Lalor Roddy, Helena Bereen, David McSavage, and Karrie Cox. I like all the shots of the animals creepily staring at her. The film looks quite good, I will admit, and fairly creepy. ›››
