Official Trailer for Mad Russian Dark Comedy ‘Why Don’t You Just Die!’

Why Don't You Just Die! Trailer

“It might be because of the work I do, but I pay close attention to my daughter’s friends.” Arrow Films has unleashed an official trailer for a super-violent, dark comedy from Russia called (for the UK/US release) Why Don’t You Just Die!. The original title in Russian translates directly to Dad, Die – a bit too short. It’s the feature directorial debut of a filmmaker named Kirill Sokolov. “Shades of early Tarantino, Edgar Wright and Sam Raimi abound in this violent, stylish and riotously entertaining slice of family life, Moscow style, described as ‘a splatterpunk action comedy drenched in gleefully dark Russian humor.’” Sounds good? Andrei, a detective and the world’s most horrible father, brings together a terrible group of people in his apartment: his resentful actress daughter, an angry thug, and a cheated cop. Each one has a reason to want revenge. The film stars Aleksandr Kuznetsov, Vitaliy Khaev, and Evgeniya Kregzhde. Check this out. ›››

‘Shop Contest: Everything’s Coming Up Robotnik, Winners!

Last week I asked you all to show some love to Sonic’s longtime enemy, Dr. Robotnik. (Or Eggman if you want to use the worse name.) You all did great. Well, most of you. Some of you created terrible things. But some of those things won awards, so I’m as much to blame as you folks.

  • Ed Boon Would “Love” To See A Mortal Kombat Character In Smash Bros. Ultimate

    Get over here.

One iconic fighting series that hasn’t been represented in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate yet is Mortal Kombat. While Nintendo or Masahiro Sakurai have never said anything publically about a character from this brutal and bloody fighter being added to the roster, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon recently told Shacknews he would “love” to see it happen.

This was his exact reply when he was asked about the possible inclusion of characters like Scorpion and Sub-Zero in Smash:

  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct No Longer Mentions One-Time-Only Save Data Recovery

More details will be shared in the future.

During the recent Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct, Nintendo explained how ‘sometime after launch’ and only under ‘certain circumstances’ (for example, ‘console damage’ and ‘loss’) would the company be able to restore save data.

The catch? It’s apparently a one-time-only deal for Nintendo Switch Online members. It means that if an unfortunate incident was to occur not once, but twice, and you lost your Animal Crossing save data, Nintendo would not offer its assistance or support.

  • Rogue Lords Is a Hellish Roguelike That Sees You Take Control of Satan

    Devil may cry.

There are no shortage of roguelikes on the PlayStation 4, but Rogue Lords appears to have a unique twist on the established genre. Set in a gloomy 17th century New England, “the game inverses the usual tropes, with the player taking on the role of the Devil who, weakened following a terrible defeat, is seeking to regain his powers”.

The press release continues: “His goal is to once again spread corruption throughout a world left destabilized by his absence. To achieve his dark designs, he directs a team comprised of illustrious Disciples of Evil, such as Bloody Mary, Dracula, the White Lady, and Baron Samedi. The player explores a 3D map and chooses how he will sow chaos during numerous interactions with other characters.”
