Welcome back to the Stage of History and prepare to take part in a story of souls and swords! SoulCalibur VI stands as the standard of 3-D weapon-based fighting and continues its long-standing tradition of iconic characters, including new ones, such as Geralt of Rivia as a special guest character. The formidable protagonist from The Witcher series joins our cast of the legendary fighters and is prepared to battle all those who stand in his way. However, before we get into battling with these brave warriors, lets train with our souls and learn the skills, movements, and what it takes to end the struggle between sword and soul!

Movement
The key to mastering any fighting game is to first understand the movement of the characters. With the 8-way run system, SoulCalibur VI demonstrates itself as a true 3D fighter. Make use of the directional pad or analog stick to move across the ring with ease. A quick tap in any direction will perform a short step for precise movement, allowing for quick strikes or dodges. Holding a direction enables swift, continuous movement. Make use of these features to take a more defensive approach, or rush towards your foe with an all-out offensive of attacks.
Basic Attacks
SoulCalbur VI has three basic attacks: Horizontal, Vertical, and Kick. Combining these attacks with directional inputs, jumping, dashing, crouching, and sidestepping, opens-up even more attack strings and combos. Spend time experimenting with different combinations of Low, Middle, and High attacks to unleash deadly combos.

Guarding
It’s vital to keep up a good defense to avoid the opponent’s offensive attacks. Holding the Guard button allows you to block attacks, but you must pair this block by either standing or crouching.
There are three basic levels of attacks in SoulCalibur VI: Low, Middle, and High. Middle and High attacks can be blocked while standing, but this leaves you open to Low attacks, which can only be blocked while guarding in a crouch. However, this leaves you open to Middle attacks; High attacks will miss anyone that is crouching. So, when facing a skilled opponent, you must learn to anticipate when they will mix up their attacks so that you can block successfully and prepare for your counter-offensive.

Guard impacts are a unique move in SoulCalibur VI that allow you to repel an enemy attack and leave them open to a counter. You can execute a guard impact by pressing forward on directional pad and the A button. Just make sure that you time it correctly right when your enemy is beginning their attack!
Training
SoulCalibur VI is equipped with a fully-featured Training mode for you to study the many fighting styles in store for you. Hop in anytime to perfect your timing, combos, and spacing! See you in the ring!

SoulCalibur VI fighting mechanics through and through will keep you immersed in the game for a long time to come. Whether it’s the mastery of the basic attacks or the new feature and intricacies of the guard impacts, honing these skills will be vital towards challenging all fearsome foes old and new. Now take the stage, utilize and leverage your edge in battle, and claim your place in history in SoulCalibur VI today!

A new update has gone live for Marvel’s Spider-Man today, pushing out the much requested New Game+ and Ultimate difficulty updates. There are also two new associated trophies.
New Game+ lets you go back through the story with all the suits, powers, gadgets, and upgrades you had when you ended it. Ultimate difficulty is the hardest Spider-Man challenge yet and is a good option for those that want to play the game in a different way while doing trophy cleanup.
Speaking of trophies, both New Game+ and Ultimate are getting their own trophies added, though presumably you can combine the two together to get both at the same time.
Spider-Man’s first DLC, The Heist, releases next Tuesday on October 23. It is part one of a multi-chapter story DLC that focuses on Spider-Man and Black Cat.

Bend Studio’s take on zombies and motorcycles has been delayed, Sony announced this morning. The game will now release on April 26.
The publisher took the time to explain the reasoning behind the delay as well:
Considering that the late January/February releases include Kingdom Hearts 3, Anthem, Metro Exodus, Resident Evil 2 Remake, it’s easy to see Sony and Bend’s reasoning.

With the recent cancellation of Marvel’s Iron Fist, one of Netflix’s original programs designed to lead into a Defenders crossover, fans have been wondering whether all the Marvel Netflix shows will eventually go away. Disney is launching its own streaming service, so the theory has been that the house of mouse pushed for cancellation to bring the series home and the same fate is inevitable for the rest. Not so, says Netflix, at least until they decide to lower the axe themselves.
When Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos was asked about the future of the superheroes currently tied to Netflix and whether they too will fade into dust, Sarandos was brief.
“Those shows are for us to cancel,” he said, “and we’re super happy with their performance so far.”
So that more or less confirms that Netflix was behind Iron Fist’s cancellation and the continued existence of Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and The Punisher. Still, if Disney wants the shows, they’ll probably find a way to get them back, unless Netflix signed that ironclad of a deal.
Daredevil’s third season begins tomorrow, October 19.

With Telltale having closed and laid off its staff, The Walking Dead’s incomplete final season hangs over a lot of the news for fans of the series. While Skybound confirmed they would be finishing the story out, the question of how exactly they would bring in the terminated Telltale staff to fix it was still important, and reminds people of the human cost behind their favorite games.
It did not take long for this subject to come up when Skybound CEO Ian Howe held an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit yesterday. While he did not go into specific detail about how he plans to bring in Telltale developers to finish the game, he was clear about how much of the team would be comprised of former Telltale employees.
“The plan is for it to be staffed 100% by former Telltale staff,” he answered. “The only time we’d look elsewhere is if we can’t fill a particular role from former TT people.”
Howe also added that he has been in contact with “most, if not all” of The Walking Dead team, but this is not confirmation that all of them are willing or able to return. Presumably, some degree of the team have plans that are incompatible with Skybound’s intentions to continue development.
There is no timeframe for the remainder of The Walking Dead: The Final Season, though the first two episodes are still for sale.

When Accounting launched a few years ago, the employment-comedy virtual reality genre was still pretty nascent though large enough to have spawned a number of differently themed games already. The PlayStation VR got its hands on Accounting in 2016 and its DLC, Accounting+, the following year.
Now Accounting+ is available on Oculus and Vive stores. Part of that means that the William Pugh- and Justin Roiland-written game gets its own launch trailer with precisely those two people, which you can watch below if you need a laugh today.
Accounting+ is now available on Oculus, Vive, and PlayStation VR.
