  • Capcom Can't Make “Any Promises” About DLC Being Added To Mega Man 11

    “Get excited about the game”.

Capcom’s Mega Man 11 arrived on the Switch at the start of October. Shortly after the big launch, a post-release update to the game’s Steam database page suggested downloadable content could be on the way when the Japanese developer 8ing – known for its past collaborations with Capcom – was listed.

With DLC suspected, the Mega Man 11 Producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya has now supplied an official comment. When asked in an interview by the fansite Rockman Corner about the possibility of downloadable content being added to the game, he said the following:

  • Nidhogg 2 Brings Gruesome One-On-One Combat To The Switch eShop On 22nd November

    Be the glorious wurm sacrifice.

Los Angeles-based developer Messhof Games has announced Nidhogg 2 will be arriving on the Switch eShop later this month on 22nd November. The game was first announced for Nintendo’s new platform back in March this year during a Nindies Nintendo Direct showcase.

Although the original game never graced Nintendo hardware, the sequel is more of the same – requiring two players to duel and slaughter each other with a variety of weapons across multiple stages in a sort of reverse tug-of-war game. Both players must strive to be the “glorious sacrifice” to the wurm at the other end of the screen. You can take on friends in local and online multiplayer or go up against A.I. There’s also an 8-player tournament mode to find out who is truly the best.

  • Acclaimed Indie Game Battle Chef Brigade Is Getting Physical Switch And PS4 Editions

Limited Run Games, a publisher associated with game developer Mighty Rabbit Studios, has announced that it is making a physical edition for Battle Chef Brigade. The acclaimed indie game will be made available in both its PS4 and Switch versions.

Both physical editions will be made available on November 9 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET / 3 PM GMT. As the name implies, Limited Run Games only makes a certain amount of official physical editions for previously digital-only titles. So once every copy of the physical versions of Battle Chef Brigade is sold out, they are gone for good. Limited Run Games never restocks.

Released in 2017, Battle Chef Brigade mixes together brawler and puzzle gameplay. You play as Mina, a young woman who aspires to be a battle chef, a type of knight that hunts down monsters and cooks them into delicious dishes for the kingdom’s people. Each mission in the game requires you hunt down specific monsters before racing into the kitchen to solve tile-based puzzles in order to cook your ingredients and fulfill the dish requirements set out by the judges. Battle Chef Brigade was well-received by critics and players alike.

We’re excited to announce that our next physical Nintendo Switch release will be Battle Chef Brigade from @TrinketStudios and @adultswimgames! The game will be available this Friday, November 9th 10AM Eastern Time at https://t.co/rZI6STrUid! pic.twitter.com/tzFOBNKbXv

    — Limited Run Games (@LimitedRunGames) November 2, 2018

In August 2018, Battle Chef Brigade received an update that added split-screen multiplayer, as well as two new modes–called Survival and Free Play–and a new playable character.

Battle Chef Brigade is available for Nintendo Switch and PS4.

  • Red Dead Redemption 2 Camp Issue Is Being Addressed, Says Rockstar

Rockstar has announced that it is working on an issue that is affecting Red Dead Redemption 2. Currently, a bug in the game can cause Sadie, Jack, John, and Abigail–four of Arthur Morgan’s camp companions–to disappear after the completion of chapter two.

“If you completed the mission ‘Polite Society, Valentine Style’ at the start of Chapter 2, but needed to use the Retry Checkpoint feature, then Sadie, Jack, John, and Abigail will only appear in camp when they have missions for you to complete,” Rockstar wrote in a Q&A blog post. “We are aware of the issue and are currently working on a fix to be included in an upcoming Title Update.”

While Rockstar works on a solution for the bug, the developer advises all players who have yet to complete “Polite Society, Valentine Style” to do so without retrying from a checkpoint. If you fail the mission, make sure you immediately abandon and restart it, or load an earlier save. These are currently the only ways to avoid encountering the glitch.

If you’ve already encountered the bug, you’ll have to keep playing RDR2 until chapter four to see Sadie, Jack, John, and Abigail in the camp again. You will miss the four character’s unique conversations unless you reload a previous save from before “Polite Society, Valentine Style” to avoid the glitch.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for Xbox One and PS4. In our review, Kallie Plagge gave the game a 9/10, writing, “Red Dead Redemption 2 is an excellent prequel, but it’s also an emotional, thought-provoking story in its own right, and it’s a world that is hard to leave when it’s done.”

  • Xbox One Exclusive Sunset Overdrive Could Be Coming To PC

Sunset Overdrive, the over-the-top third-person shooter for Xbox One made by the developer of the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man, looks like it is finally releasing on PC. A rating for a PC edition of the game recently popped up in the ESRB database, while a listing has also appeared in Steam’s database (but is not yet visible on the site’s public-facing pages). Back in May, Korea’s ratings board posted a rating for a PC edition, according to Gematsu.

All of this evidence seems to suggest that it’s only a matter of time before an official announcement is made about Sunset Overdrive for PC. In September 2014, just a month before Sunset Overdrive launched for Xbox One, Insomniac said it had no plans to bring the game to PC, but teased that it hadn’t ruled it out, either.

Two years later, Insomniac said it really wanted to bring Sunset Overdrive to PC, but noted that it was publisher Microsoft’s decision to make. Part of the reason why Insomniac decided to make it an Xbox One-exclusive in the first place was because Microsoft reportedly allowed the studio to own the rights to the Sunset Overdrive franchise. It appears even despite that, Microsoft gets to call the shots on whether or not Sunset Overdrive is released on PC.

Insomniac has said it would like to make Sunset Overdrive 2, but at least as of October 2017, the studio had not found a partner for it.

we’d love to, we just need to find a publisher!

    — Insomniac Games (@insomniacgames) October 24, 2017

Insomniac’s latest game was the PS4 exclusive Spider-Man, which it developed in partnership with Sony and Marvel. The game sold really well and was generally adored by critics. The studio is currently working on the AR game Seedling for Magic Leap and a VR game called Stormland.

If Microsoft is to announce Sunset Overdrive for PC, one possible venue is the company’s upcoming X018 event in Mexico City. The event takes place on November 10, so keep checking back with GameSpot for more.

Sunset Overdrive is wacky and wonderful, and you can currently get it pretty cheap on Xbox One. Alternatively, it’s free with Xbox Game Pass on Xbox One.

  • Fortnite NFL Skins Coming Soon After New Update

Fortnite dances have become a mainstay of sporting events since the title exploded in popularity, so it’s only fitting to see a real-world sport invade the battle royale game. Developer Epic Games has announced it is partnering with the NFL to offer a new set of football skins in Fortnite based on real-world jerseys, and they’re set to arrive later this week, following the new update.

Starting Friday, November 9, NFL outfits will be available for purchase from Fortnite’s in-game store. Epic hasn’t announced pricing details for the new skins, but you’ll be able to choose between uniforms of all 32 teams in the NFL. Epic says you’ll also be able to customize your jersey with any number from 0-99. The skins will be available in the store beginning at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET.

    No Caption Provided

The NFL outfits aren’t the only new items on the way to the game this week. Fortnite’s in-game News feed is teasing that a new weapon–the Heavy Assault Rifle–is “coming soon” to the title. Epic hasn’t announced when the new gun will be added, but it will presumably arrive as part of this week’s Fortnite patch.

A lot of other things have been transpiring in Fortnite recently, most notably the major world-changing one-time event that took place in the game on November 4. At the end of the Halloween-themed Fortnitemares event, the mysterious purple cube that has been a fixture of the game since it first appeared toward the end of Season 5 exploded, sending players to a strange realm of light.

Once players were transported back to the island, they noticed that the vortex that was in the middle of Loot Lake has now been replaced by a strange Stonehenge-like monument. Epic has also rolled out a set of Li’l Kev challenges–named after the community’s nickname for the purple cube–that will give you the chance to unlock the new Li’l Kev back bling.

  • Pokemon Go: Two New Shiny Pokemon Available For A Limited Time

Pokemon Go developer Niantic has just launched its newest mobile game, Ingress Prime, on iOS and Android. To celebrate its release, the studio is holding a special event in Pokemon Go, giving players their first opportunity to catch two new Shiny Pokemon.

For a limited time, two Gen 1 monsters–Cubone and Ponyta–will appear much more frequently in the wild than they normally do. Not only that, but if you’re lucky, you’ll also have a chance to come across Shiny variants of each as you’re playing. Shiny Cubone has a greener complexion than standard Cubone, while Shiny Ponyta has a blue fiery mane rather than a red one.

In addition to the new Shiny Pokemon, Niantic is also offering players a couple of free customization items for their trainers to commemorate the launch of Ingress Prime. Right now, you can get an Ingress Prime shirt for your avatar, as well as tops featuring the logos of The Enlightened and The Resistance–the two teams vying for supremacy in Niantic’s new game.

In other Pokemon Go news, Niantic has revealed the special move players will be able to learn during this month’s Community Day, which takes place this Saturday, November 10. During the event, the Gen 2 starter Pokemon Cyndaquil will appear much more frequently in the wild, and if you manage to evolve it into its final form, Typhlosion, up to an hour after the Community Day ends, it’ll learn the powerful attack Blast Burn.

Niantic also recently rolled out a new update for Pokemon Go, which introduced the recently announced Adventure Sync. With this new feature, the game will keep track of the distance you’ve walked, even when it’s idle, making it much easier to hatch Pokemon Eggs and discover Candy with your Buddy Pokemon.

  • Warcraft 3: Reforged Is Being Made Accessible For RTS Newcomers

Blizzard has announced that Warcraft III: Reforged is being made with real-time strategy game newcomers in mind. Revealed at BlizzCon 2018, Reforged is an upcoming remaster of the original 2002 Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its 2003 expansion The Frozen Throne.

“Yeah, Warcraft III did not have the easy mode,” Blizzard lead artist Brian Sousa said during an interview with GameSpot. “It was either hard or really hard, and so now, even me, I remember playing missions over, and over, and over. This is a really hard game, so getting in there and making it a little bit more accessible for today’s players, at least, to get into the RTS genre. This RTS has been around for 15 years. It’s still around, people are still playing it, so we’re not too worried about redefining the RTS because this already has a huge community, right, and we’re not looking to change how Warcraft plays. We just want it to be a little bit more accessible and look better for today’s players.”

In the same interview, senior producer Pete Stilwell also revealed that Blizzard currently has no plans of developing Warcraft IV. However, a sequel is not impossible. “I mean, I wouldn’t rule anything out, but we don’t have any plans around [Warcraft IV] at this point. Getting [Warcraft III: Reforged] right, I think, is our priority first and foremost,” Stilwell said. This matches with what Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void producer Tim Morten said about Warcraft’s future.

Reforged will feature remastered maps and campaigns, as well as remodeled animations and characters. The game will launch with 4K support, and an upgraded UI and world editor in comparison to the original game. A special edition, called Spoils of War, unlocks in-game content for Diablo III, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, Heroes of the Storm, and World of Warcraft.
