  • PlayStation Black Friday Deals Include PS Plus Exclusive Deals

Sony officially announced its PlayStation 4 Black Friday week deals today.

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony confirmed its biggest Black Friday sales, with offers running from Nov. 18-26 in the U.S. and Nov. 22-30 in Canada. Unsurprisingly, the highlight of Sony’s deals revolves around one of PlayStation’s biggest exclusive games this year, Marvel’s Spider-Man.

A new Marvel’s Spider-Man PlayStation 4 bundle will be sold for $199.99 USD ($259.99 CAN). The bundle includes a standard PlayStation 4 console and Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man, which was launched in September to critical and commercial success.

  • 13 Ridiculous Physics-Based Moments in Just Cause 4 – IGN First

I mean you could like Just Cause for the story. You might be interested in the dark history of the South American island nation of Solís, and its connection to Rico Rodriguez. And perhaps the hero’s ongoing intercontinental tussle with the Black Hand gets you going.

But my guess is that the majority of people are into Just Cause for what happens in between the story – the ridiculous explosions, the grappling hook tethers, the complex interplay of car, building and NPCs’ faces.

And somewhere, underneath it all, there’s a physics engine struggling to make sense of all of this and, just occasionally, reacting in completely insane ways. My friends, if this is your thing, our latest IGN First video is for you.

  • The New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Trailer Has No Music, So Twitter’s Filled In The Blanks

The latest Super Smash Bros. Ultimate trailer has a strange lack of music in the background, and as a result, has now become a bonafide meme. Fans from all over Twittersphere have stepped up to give their own personal take on the trailer, syncing up their own music to the trailer’s action. Classics like Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now and The Turtles’ Happy Together provide a pleasant twist, but then again the theme from One Punch Man does sync surprisingly well with Mario’s grand entrance.

For reference sake, here’s the original trailer, but for your meme-filled entertainment for the day, here are our favorites handpicked from the Twitter meme tree. Also, just a warning, some of these songs are loud and contain explicit lyrics, so if you’re in a workplace setting you might want to pop in some headphones.

  • Marvel Comics Chief Stan Lee Passes Away At 95

Stan Lee, the former editor-in-chief, publisher, and chairman of Marvel comics has passed away at the age of 95.

Lee started working in comic books in 1939, quickly developing a mission statement to add more depth to the world of superheroes dominated by do-gooders with uncomplicated motivations. He saw an opportunity to develop superheroes with flaws and pathos, struggling with demons both personal and actual. Lee used this foundation to found Marvel comics in 1961 with Jack Kirby and the two created some of the most well-known and well-loved characters in media today.

Creating or having a hand in creating properties like Spider-Man, Black Panther, Iron Man, and more establishes a legacy for the comics giant that few will ever be able to measure up to.

Stan Lee also happily took part in almost every Marvel movie, whether he created the character or not, with usually a single-scene cameo. In the original Blade, his scene was actually deleted, something that definitely does not happen in modern cameos. While it is unknown how far ahead Lee’s scenes are usually filmed, it is likely that he will still be making appearances in Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 next year.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Lee’s family.

  • Kickstarter For Assassin's Creed Board Game Goes Live Tomorrow

Kickstarter For Assassin's Creed Board Game Goes Live Tomorrow

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice, a board game adaptation of the Ezio-era Assassin’s Creeds, will begin its Kickstarter campaign November 13. The 1-4 player game combines cooperative and tactical gameplay, and comes with miniatures of existing Assassin’s Creed characters alongside some new ones made just for the board game. The action takes place in Renaissance Italy between the Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Assassin’s Creed Revelations video games.

Board games based on beloved video game franchises are nothing new and often struggle to capture audiences’ hearts. The designers at Triton Noir, an independent board game studio, hope to appeal to “both those who are in love with Assassin’s Creed and the tactical infiltration board games enthusiasts”, according to the studio’s founder, Thibaud de la Touanne. The company aims to stay faithful to the source material by working closely with the video game designers at Ubisoft, while introducing their own unique touches. These new elements include characters, events, and surprises yet to be revealed.

After months of work and with a license deal with Ubisoft Montreal, Triton Noir has been developing Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice with the fans in mind. Thibaud de la Touanne, founder of Triton Noir, is working together with Manuel Rozoy, co-author of the game, and Fabrice Lamidey, story designer. If all of those names sound familiar, it might be because they have all worked for Ubisoft and each have successful board games under their belt.

Triton Noir recently took a prototype of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice to at SPIEL’18, an annual four-day board game trade fair, along with a behind the scenes look at making the game. The video details the working process, the studio’s close ties to Ubisoft, and teases secret content.

The kickstarter for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood of Venice will begin tomorrow and for enthusiastic donors, Triton Noir is offering a free Ezio mini to day one backers.
